This is definitely not 5* or Luxury in any way. I am a frequent traveler, and stay more than 100 nights at hotels around the world. This is more a nice 3 or 4 star level (like an ok Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn), than it is a 5*. The rooms are very tired, not clean enough, with visible wear and tear everywhere. Getting to our room (602) involved many stairs, yet no help or heads-up was offered, even though my wife is 8 months pregnant. Breakfast variety is very good, but breakfast service hectic and chaotic, and the dining room isn't pleasant at all. Overall, this passes for the price only due to the lack of competition in this area of Israel, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have other options or don't need to stay in this area, as this is in no way value for money.

The hotel is very beautiful, the food very good and the rooms comfortable. We came for our wedding night. I told the hotel the reason for our visit and the time. I asked them to be attentive to our request since we were going to arrive exhausted from our wedding party. The person at the entrance barely spoke to us. No one took care of our luggage (we did kindly ask for it) and we had to look for our room by ourselves as the hotel is a real labyrinth. The gentleman at the entrance refused to accompany us to the room. My wife looked for the room in all the corridors with her wedding dress and I was running behind with our suitcases at 3am. No help, no apology, no gesture and all this for the price of a Parisian palace of course. When I complained the next day about the lack of consideration, they said don't worry, we'll make a gesture: I got a cappuccino with "mazal tov" on it. We don't miss a single opportunity to tell people how bad your service is.

We had a junior suite but as you can see from the pictures it had some problems, a damp patch on the wall, a shower door that did not close properly and a light fixed to the ceiling with masking tape. The price is high but they try and push you to take extras, at check in i was offered a 500 shekel extra hospitality package and told it could be problematic when i didn't take it. Maybe if i did i could have got black tea at breakfast because i couldn't get this unusual item on the day i was there

Oh Elma… what a shame… big failure to deliver on expectations. The hotel’s architecture is remarkable. The art works all over the hotel’s public places are amazing, the scenery view are also amazing. All these make the disappointment from the level of service much bigger. It feels like a colossal failure of management: - our room was not not prepared - there were no towels at all, no toilet paper, liquid soap was missing. - when we ordered the room, we asked for 2 separate beds. It was acknowledged but eventually failed to deliver. - TV at the room was not working. - Coffee machine at room is missing some parts. - the staff at the reception was rude and did not handle our complaints properly. - public toilet at the restaurant during evening service which was far from being busy were VERY dirty. Elma’s management- I hope you read feedbacks. There is a great dissonance between where you aim to be and how you execute on it. Wake up!

Before I start this review, I want my readers to know that since leaving The Elma, my wife and I have decided not to follow through with a divorce, nor abandon Judaism to convert to any other religion that answers the age old question, Why Me?” The Elma Hotel - Zikhron Ya'akov Four Seasons pricing, Chuck E Cheese level of service. Knowing the towns hotels were all booked for Shevuot this weekend and that the hillside ocean views from this property were of “Biblical” proportion, we didn’t mind spending the $630 a night as a treat to ourselves. Upon check in though, the view of the concrete retaining wall and brutalist trash-can we’re one thing but the steel hard twin beds pushed together that are as firm as limestone with edges sharper than box-cutters was something else.. At least what’s left of our jet lag will push us through the night. Oh wait, the 4 spotlights directly above our pillows won’t turn off. Let’s call maintenance to tinker with the electrical box for an hour. It’s only midnight Nope, they couldn’t figure it out. Ring..Ring….. “Concierge… we’re having a prob..WHATS THE MATTER NOW…” Good Morning!! Time for coffee Wasn’t our best sleep given Maintenance had to ultimately disconnect our room’s Circuit Breaker to get the spotlights off. Unfortunately that meant the AC didn’t have power either. Oh well it was only 104° today. Anywho, it turns out Shabbat at the Elma Hotel also means nobody can make you a coffee yet the phones are still ringing and the front desk is still swiping credit cards. At the end of it all, the only thing we’ve found to be refreshing in this summer heat at The Elma has been the icy cold attitude of the concierge anytime we’ve alerted them to an issue or the youthfulness of the hormonal/pre-teen cleaning staff. Enjoy your stay here. You won’t regret it. Oh and the WiFi signal doesn’t work throughout the property so enjoy those data roaming charges 👍🏼

BAIT-AND-SWITCH, not even close to 5* We booked a superior suite, that according to the hotel description was a spacious room that had a separate dining area with seating for 4. Upon arrival, we were given a room looking into cement wall, seating not as described, room nothing like the pictures. The staff spent an hour staring at the screen and making calls, to then proceed to upsell to another room. While standing in the lobby, staff proceed with washing the floor around us, dumping buckets and water and spreading it all around. As this does not come close to 5* service, we decide to leave to avoid further frustration. Hotel refuses a refund. I would recommend to all travelers to avoid this hotel.

If a place need to mention it is « a luxury place » be sure that it’s a « wannabe » and ne not a real luxury. It was a poor place. Except of the view, nothing good to say. Horrible service (unbelievably horrible for the price of this hotel) Old facilities DIRTY It seems almost absurd that we pay this amount of money for such a lame hotel. Unfortunately it is not an exaggeration, it is a really lame hotel with one of the worst service I have ever saw. Seriously, my advice : keep your money for better things. It is just a shame.

Very impressive property, the architectonics are quite dazzling and amazing artwork displayed throughout the hotel, unfortunately that's were all ends. Upon arriving to the hotel I was checked in by a very unfriendly darked hair woman at the front desk, didn't make much of it as I was tired and wanted to get to my room. Once I reached my room I found the door was open , a half full opened bottle of wine on top of the Minni-bar , the AC did not work (room was very warm), no TV remote co trol present , the in room safe was programmed and could not open. I called the front desk for help and with an unappollogetic attitude was sent someone from maintenance to fix the issues. Unfortunately they could not fix the AC and safe, so I requested another room from the front desk lady, and after some hesitation and more bad attitude on her side she asked me to her to pickup another key to my new room . The next morning I Woke up and went to the front desk, was surprised to see the same unfriendly person behind the desk, asked where was breakfast being served and was responded in a very rude manner. Bottom line, thinking the hotel is probably underfunded and understaffed. Suggest that they sell some of the artwork displayed and that heavily invest in maintaining the room appropriately and while they are at it hire some more friendly front desk personel One last note, the hotel is marketed as high-end , and due to the high per night prices the expectation is that at s minimum you are greeted with a friendly attitude

Worst hotel experience ever. From “luxury” in this complex is only the name. Total shame for everybody who work there. 1) No luggage service. You have to beg for hotel staff to help you with heavy luggage. Nice 5 star hotel experience? 2) No manager in charge at reception, always roaming somewhere. You have to wait half of hour to find someone who can help you with your request or even to do check-in. 3) No spa service. Tried to book it, first it was confirmed, and just before 5 minutes of sheduled time staff informed us, that they can not do our request and cancelled treatment. 4) No room service. All what you can order - simple sandwich or bakery. 5) No choice for breakfasts. Few salads, eggs and breads. 6) Very noisy AC in living room, impossible to sleep. 7) If you need something - you have to ask for it at least twice, otherwise prepare to be ghosted. So sad that it’s not possible to rate this rubbish guesthouse with 0 star.

Hi all, that was one of the worst hotel experiences my life. And I’ve seen a lot……. 1. Rooms are impossible to sleep, AC works like a helicopter. If you turn it off it’s too hot. 2. There is nowhere to eat at the hotel except for breakfast. By the way, breakfast is bad. Only if you compare it to starving the rest of the day it’s good. 3. Rooms are ugly and overpriced. 4. Hotel staff are mostly ignorant and rude. 5. Area looks just like a 2* hotel in the middle of nowhere. Don’t waste your time and money!!! The only worse place I have seen in my entire life is a 3* hotel in Thailand, where I got attacked by some bed insects while sleeping. But that place had food to eat at least! I haven’t seen other facilities yet, but I am planning to check on a gym and pool, if I will stay alive afterward, I will update that review.

Spent a night here during a fun day (High tech), showers in the rooms are great, pool is nice. However, AC in the room made a terrible noise and the coffee machine didn't work.

One of the nicest hotels we have been at. Our room was airy, light and modern, with art everywhere. The room had a comfortable bed and sitting area. The view was to die for. The bathroom was an attached area but without a door ( there were doors to the actual toilet and to the shower but not to the sink area. A small movable partition would have been nice for more privacy) We had a minibar and there was also a hot water kettle and coffee. All the light switches in the room were ultra modern and no-touch. We went to a musical performance in the evening, and it was nice to go to a show literally steps from our room. The outdoor areas are beautiful as well.We enjoyed the outdoor pool, very clean. The pool opens late ( from 10:00). We also took advantage of the spa and had a couples massage. I had tried to schedule ahead in the week before we checked in, however the spa never answered the phone nor replied to my email trying to book a treatment. Eventually I was able to get them via the reception, once we checked in. Food ( breakfast) was tasty and varied, although dining area was a bit crowded and noisy. Coffee was never hot. We had a few minor technical problems ( phone in room didn't work and wasnt fixed until the next day) and there was an extended ( 1 hr) electricity blackout on Friday evening, a fuse had gone (?) Understable, these things can happen, but there was no communication or assistance from the front desk ( candles/ flashlight/offering a place that did have electricity where we could wait it out) that is why I give service a 4, in every other aspect the hotel was great. The lobby is very noisy, sounds bounce off the stone and granite floors and travels upward to the dining room. The hotel is not appropriate for those needing accessibility: stairs either up or down to every room, massive stairs to the dining area ( could not find an elevator).

The hotel is well preserved, despite the age still looking very well, the swimming pool is quite large for a boutique hotel, the meals are well done and the residence includes free parking. Recommended!

Extremely original and beautiful building. The architects were awarded the Israel Prize for this building, and it offers guests a sublime atmosphere and comfort. Every detail is well-planned. The corridors leading to the rooms are staggered and paintings are on display on each wall. The lobby hosts an impressive marble sculpture with a story. The rooms face West and offer a peaceful view of the Mediterranean. Bedsheets and towels are of the highest quality cotton. A/C is powerful, both for cooling and heating, while staying whisper-quiet. Breakfast and dinner (if you go for HB) are unbelievably rich and varied and yummy. Wonderful experience, overall.

Amazing stay at Elma. Remarkable architecture and art. Rooms were beautiful and clean with Spectacular view of Mediterranean sea sunset. Breakfast and Dinner were both exceptional with regards to diversity and more importantly quality. The gem of the visit was a guided tour of the hotel architecture and art included with the stay, reviewing the history of the place in a funny and interesting way. One of the best short stays we’ve had anywhere. Highly recommended !

The sea view is beautiful. The rooms are large and lovely; especially those with the sea view where three is great privacy in the balcony as well. There is your off the facilities whee you get a very interesting explanation of the history of the place - I think it is on weekends.

Very bad value-for-money. We came 2 friends before my best-friend wedding and the service was plain simple and bad. The receptionist was not-friendly, edgy, and not welcoming. Just to make things straight, the place is beautiful, the food was good (but not great as I would expect from a 2K NIS for a night basic room) and atmosphere nice (again the place IS beautiful but the oldishness can be felt quite easy) The thing was that the service that we receive was kinda suck. I would expect from these level of boutique venues to have an amazing customer-relation and a customer centric attitude. NO. Sssooooo not. Even is price was 50% lower I still wanted the crew to be nice and welcoming Poor customer-awareness which left a bad taste before the wedding Defiantly NOT a place to go back to

We went on a show in alma hall. The show was great. However, at the end of the show, the lights turned off all over and we couldn't even use the bathrooms.

Our 2nd time here, the less I'll say is more.. You cannot miss staying at this hotel, such an amazing staff, excellent food, breath taking rooms. A lot of parking spots, awesome walkways and views of our beautiful beach strip of the carmel. The only thing you should consider is the price, because it is a luxury hotel.

I guess this hotel being 5 stars or luxury level is just a fragment of the owners' imagination. It's such a shame because the location and the architecture are beautiful. The artwork and the food are nice. But the rest is a total miss and a complete disappointment. I've visited many places over the years, from hostels to 5 star hotels. But this is the first time I'm actually annoyed by how disappointing the hotel was. How can you say this is a luxury hotel when the rooms are dirty, the walls are dirty, the windows are dirty, the patio furniture is broken and the 5 stars hotel certificate you've proudly hung up at the lobby was actually expired years ago. Embarrassing.

Most of the staff were really nice. Unfortunately the night clerk was really quite rude and should not be customer facing! If you have a disability, make sure to stay in the mail building since all the rooms have stairs. The hotel lobby is really beautiful with pictures everywhere. The rooms are very nice and large. Furniture is in really good condition and the rooms were clean. I will definitely come back. Kids will be a bit bored there since it is more an "adult" hotel. The view from the grounds is amazing!

The hotel is good overall. However, considering it's a 5-star hotel (and even if it was a 2-star hotel ) the room was very dirty (see pictures below). Dust, used bottles of water, used hotel house shoes under the bed, dusty balcony, a cup full of cigarettes, a coffee table with coffee stains. In short, not clean.

Interesting hotel that used to be modern and filled in with avant garde art. It has beautiful architecture but need more maintenance. The location is in between Tel Aviv and Haifa. Good for outside events.

First time there, I am guessing that this was a great hotel a few years ago but now just very tired. Furniture in rooms was broken, great balcony with sea view but with nothing to sit on (despite asking twice) hard to enjoy. Food was great but you can do much better for the same money.

I've got a disgusting room, dust with fingernails clips on the floor, broken toilet seat, I asked the front desk to clean the room, went to dinner, nothing happend :( On top of that insane amount of mosquitoes in the dining room, pool and hotel surroundings, got me badly bitten. Top dollars hotel with poor maintenance and service.

🫤 Very disappointing experience in the spa. The staff is unprofessional. The massage was very mediocre, the girls didn't stop talking most of the time.
