A magnificent place. I definitely enjoyed the tour guide in the studio of this great artist. Both paintings and sculptures were stunning. A culture oasis that thanks to Benaki Museum is open to the public. Highly recommended.

An oasis among the tall buildings of the area. A place of tranquility and art. Wonderful museum but also a living drawing and painting workshop for young and old. The great creator Yiannis Pappas announced in April 2002 that all the works gathered in his workshop will be transferred to the Benaki Museum. This donation covers most of the artist's artistic output from 1930 to the present day. With the aim of keeping the works in their natural environment, his son, Alekos Pappas, donated the workshop building to the Benaki Museum. The workshop, as the artist himself wished, will remain a living workplace for the students of the School of Fine Arts. Very good choice to spend a sunny morning or a cool afternoon.

(Translated by Google) The Laboratory of John the Pope shocks us with his works, the bumps of a lifetime. With the most essential problem of visual expression, the problem of human form.

A real hidden gem, free and easily reachable from the city center. The sculptures are beautiful and the location awesome. I definitely suggest a visit there.

Very unexpected location as you go up the road which is a completely built road you see a clearing of buildings where the laboratory is located. You can see that it is a live in action sculpture workshop and generally several classes are held in the space.

One of the best and most sophisticated museums in downtown Athens! Wonderful paintings by great artists!

A calm and beautiful place offering insights into the work of an outstanding Greek artist. Pappas excelled as both painter and sculptor. Lots of great work is on show. Particularly moving are his portrait sculptures of neighbourhood children who used to play in his garden during the Second World War.

(Translated by Google) An oasis between the eight floors! It is worth getting to know the studio of this great artist and ideally in the context of some action or tour.

Museum found closed Friday August 11 at 10:20 a.m., although it was supposed to be covered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. according to the Benaki Museum website and the inscription on the door. We waited in vain for 30 minutes... No response to phone calls. Too bad, because this museum looked really interesting...

They don't even know why they aren't open, it is written nowhere and you discover it in front of the museum. It's a real shame for a such a museum to have such an horrible organisation
