Construction on the National Sports Complex started in 1963 and was completed in 1964. Designer Vann Molyvann made use of massive earthworks to create the stadium, digging up 500,000 cubic meters of earth to shape the grounds. The stadium might have been built to host the 1963 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, but the games were cancelled due to political problems in Cambodia. The stadium did play host to appearances by visiting dignitaries and state occasions, and was the home of Cambodia's national athletics teams. Grass at the National Olympic stadium being newly planted to prepare for the 2023 SEA Games, and it very beautifull and smooth. The 2023 Southeast Asian Games will not be held at the Olympic Stadium, but at a new stadium to be known as the Morodok Techo National Sports Complex. Although not host as a main venue, but it hosted the men's football tournament and Women's football finals

National Olympic Stadium, is a nice place for social gathering during football games, and attract heavy crowed with national supporters which can fully occupy the capacity of the stadium, around 40,000 pax.

The National Olympic Stadium in Cambodia is a must-visit destination for sports enthusiasts and anyone interested in the country's rich sporting culture. The stadium is an impressive facility with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that can accommodate various sporting events. The stadium has hosted many international events and is considered one of the most iconic landmarks in Phnom Penh. It has a seating capacity of over 50,000 people, making it the perfect venue for large-scale sporting events such as football matches, concerts, and other major events. Apart from hosting sports events, the stadium also provides ample space for outdoor activities like jogging or walking around the track. Overall, the National Olympic Stadium is an excellent place to visit if you're in Cambodia, especially if you are a sports fan. Its modern facilities, picturesque location, and friendly staff make it an ideal place to catch a game or enjoy the outdoors while indulging in your favorite sport.

We had a great time at the SEA Games! What a fab idea making the tickets free. The Gymnastic Final was so fun to watch and because we had such a good time we drove out to the other stadium for the swimming. Thank you to all the volunteers we met, they were so nice and helpful!

The only safe place in the town where you can do running and play other sports. Beautifully designed. If you want to get inside the stadium it will cost like 50cent.Its not just a stadium but Its more like a sports centre I would say.

Nice place in town to work out.. almost always packed in the evening. The stadium still functions and clean but sadly there are many tall buildings around the stadium. It is always crowded in the evening because locals come out to run or do sports.

Olympic Stadium is one of the oldest stadiums in Southeast Asia to continue and hosting big games. It was built in 1963 and opened in 1964. At the time, it was truly a masterpiece, built intending to host the short-lived GANEFO and other grand spectacle games/ceremony in Cambodia. The seating is massive considering the country’s population size, max capacity up to 70,000. It was renovated to host football games during the SEA Games 2023 by adding seats and limiting the capacity to just around 50,000. I'm glad that the Stadium continue to play crucial role in Cambodia's sporting events and matches. Fun fact, during the 1966 FIFA World Cup qualification play-off Asia v Oceania between North Korea and Australia, the Olympic Stadium was the neutral home for both countries, due to some travel restrictions. North Korea won both legs and advanced to 1966 World Cup Group Stage.

HOURS 400-1930 on days when there is no scheduled event Free and safe place to go running or play some kind of field sport. For me, it was more a good spot to do urban exploring. It's kind of eerie standing alone in an empty stadium. There is an entrance on the West Side. Police allow you to check your car, scooter, or bicycle. There are a few food stalls about. The track is high quality synthetic turf

It was a fun place to explore. The day I went there was a national championship going on (Muay Thai I think) and I was able to look on for free.

The price to go inside was alright, only 2000 riel, and it had many different sports. A lot of people were dancing and exercising while listening to music. Quite funny. Other than that it was pretty clean and had a fun time.

The Olympic pool is new and clean, the staff is friendly and you can find professional coaches for learning how to swim.

It's noticably old and requires some touch ups here and there but it adds some charm to it in its own way. Go visit around sunset time and you'll experience a vibrant mix of people walking, dancing and playing badminton. Grab a snacks and freshly squeezed orange juice on the way too. A nice experience

For early morning exercise, great to have a place this size open very early morning. But the exercise classes take place in confined spaces at very very very high volume. Track is ok. Tennis is a good service.

There are 2 bus operators here plying from Phnom Penh to Saigon daily. This location is good as it is near the riverside and city center in Phnom Penh.

Massive sport facilities in the heart of Phnom Penh. Soccer field, jogging track, basketball hoops, tennis-badminton-volley field. You can jog around the compound or on top of the tribunes. Many youth use the empty spaces to gather and haveing this kind of flash mob dance but also looks like a "SKJ" alias gym/dance exercises with top40s songs to dance. Mostly Kpop, Indonesian dangdut or local songs (which combines kpop and dangdut beat)
