Its a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva situated in Dharamshala. There are several idols of Lord Shiva here. We visited this on 15th Feb 2024. There was not much crowd. There is a stream flowing backside of this temple which is just beautiful. The steps downstairs to the stream are big. You can go downstairs, sit as well as click pictures there. If you are visiting Dharamshala, you can definitely visit here. Outside the temple, there are few hawkers who sell food. We tried few items which were good. Also good parking is available along with the restrooms to use.

A great Shiva Temple to visit. Beautiful and the plus side is that it's also near a water stream where they've put a stairs down to. The water is straight from the glaciers. It was cold and nice when we visited during the summers. Generally a bit over crowded near the water, otherwise it's a great place to visit.

Aghanjar Mahadev Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Sokani Da Kot, Dharamshala,Himachal Pradesh. It is a beautiful temple set in a serene setting, with a river flowing nearby. The temple is said to be the place where Arjuna received the Brahmastra from Lord Shiva. The temple is a small, simple structure, but it is very charming. The main shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and there are also a few other smaller shrines dedicated to other Hindu deities. The temple is surrounded by trees and greenery, and the atmosphere is very peaceful. One of the best things about Aghanjar Mahadev Temple is the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The river that flows nearby is a popular spot for swimming and picnicking. There are also a few hiking trails in the area, which offer stunning views of the mountains. If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to visit in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, I highly recommend Aghanjar Mahadev Temple. It is a great place to relax and connect with nature, and it is also a very important religious site for Hindus.

We visited the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple on our Dharamshala trip in April 2018. Set inside a hill forest it is a beautiful, serene and peaceful place where you can just relax and spend some quality time with nature. Do not forget to visit the stream at the back of the temple. It is sheer delight and one can sit there for hours altogether. And if you want you can take a dip too although the water can be ice cold. It is not very far from Dharamshala and the road to this temple is equally beautiful. A must visit place if you are going to Dharamshala.

Very nice temple with a rear riverside. A little difficult to reach to the river for children and elderly but a very nice view from the tiny bridge.

The Aghanjar Mahadev temple is a temple of Lord Shiva located on the background of a small river and waterfall. The main temple consists of multiple Shivlings and other temples. There is another Gupteshwar Mahadev temple located on the backside of the main temple - you have to walk down a few steps and then on a few rocks to reach the Riverside temple.

Not a very interesting place as a tourist destination. You can go to worship if you want. The stream behind the temple is even worse amd it makes no sense to climb down so many steps. The view is best from the top.
