I try to take the ambience fully into me. It was a nice visit to that place. I travel from Indore to Mhow(महू) and really, I think spending time for minutes made my day with no noise. Yes if you are visiting that place, look for morning and people also say, rainy days are very nice there but yes, it's on you. Cheers!

Nice place near Indore for a relaxing and serene experience. You could enjoy a cool breeze with an amazing sunset while enjoying some snacks from local food stalls. I would suggest winters to visit this place, however rainy season will be good too but adds some risk due to curvy roads. Good for friends, family or couples to spend couple of hours away from city lights.

It’s a beautiful place to visit, usually busy on weekends. They have a ticket system of 10 rs per person to go on top of the gate. From their view Is ok. This is a historical monument located near Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. This place is ideal for a road trip and very photogenic. You can plan it with friends and family.

This is great place for outing for one day with family… On weekends, it is crowded.. many hawkers would be there for Pakoda, Tea and Maggie… as there is no network at the top, you need to carry cash…. There is 5 rupees ticket for getting on top of Jam Gate… The scenery is great… awesome for photo session… The ideal time to visit is monsoon… fog makes the atmosphere marvellous… Overall great experience..

This gate is on your way to Mandu from indore. Situated near Mhow this is a historic gate. But what captures your attention is the scenic beauty around it. The vast expanse of small hillocks that you see around here are just beautiful. We didn’t know about the place at all but our auto guy took us through this route to Mandu-Maheshwar. People especially visit the place to enjoy the beauty or for a picnic. During monsoons the place is all green. We went in the month of April and this is what we saw which was still breathtaking. This Mhow-Mandleshwar route.

This place is good for Site seeing and picnic spots. You can enjoy roasted corn and field fresh peanut. You need ticket to go upstairs of the gate. You will get awesome view from the gate. Roads to Jam Gate to further is a bit scary as there are so many blind spots. Its always better to hire car or drive to that place. You won't gate local transport. One of the guard is there to watch and control the crowd. Greenery is all over the hills. The beauty will clam your eyes as well as your soul.

This is just a gate but where it was constructed was a beautiful place where you can experience great view and a peace time. But be cautious and safe (Gateway to Maheshwar from Indore via Mhow).

The Jam Gate is a picnic spot in Maheshwar Tehsil of Khargone District in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is on Mhow-Mandleshwar Road (Now Khargone - Indore state highway no.1). It is approximately 30 km from Mhow, 50 km from Indore, 33 km from Maheshwar and 75 km from district headquarter Khargone. Jam gate is the gateway of Malwa - Nimar. The ambient time to visit is usually during the early mornings, when the whole area is fogged up. One can experience mystical views during the time of sunrise. People can climb atop the gate also after a buying a minimal ticket. Even without it, the view is simply mesmerizing.

You can experience the best sunrise nearby Indore. Jam Gate is around 50-60km away from Indore. Prefer a bike over a car to feel the cool breeze amidst the journey. Departure around 1.5- 2 hours before sunrise from your local spot, and take a break in between the route to stare at the open sky full of stars that took you to childhood memories (Quick Tip- Turn off all lights and be in complete darkness under the sky). Reach Jam gate before sunrise and find a suitable place to sit and set up your camera to have a part in the most awaited part of the journey. Live in that magnificent moment under the glimmer of the orange orb (The Sun). Believe me, this short trip is worth living and you will thank me later. Go, plan out with your friends, and live it. ~Phoenix

Beautiful view in spring season, you feel like you are standing above the clouds. Try to go there at week days. In weekends it's too crowded. I visited at weekends and I found 25K + people at that place. No parking was available so I park my car approx 1km aways from exact point & I suggest always park your car away from Point. I saw the people who were stuck in jam more than 2 hours. Beautiful place to visit but try to go with some companies. Don't go here alone Lots of bad guys roam there too.

This place gives you the great view of the valley. You can visit this place during rainy season. Roads are good. You can find street food, 🌽 here. 10Rs per head you need to pay if you want to climb up on the gate. Government should maintain this tourist place as No safety railing are installed by the government. Local people and visitors doesn't take care of cleanness. No public toilets and no parking is available on this place, need to park on road itself.

A good visit when you're in Indore or around the city. It has good views from the top the gate. Note: don't visit after 4pm you won't get chance to visit on the gate. Also if you want to see with ease and want to spend time on it go on weekdays. Because lot of people comes over and gets too trafficked then the workers over there will ask you to empty the gate.

Even though Jam Gate has its beauty in Monsoon at its peak, but nonetheless you can visit here in any season. The sunsets are breathtaking. So calm and peaceful landscapes. You can have some things for munching from roadside vendors such as Bhutte, Maggie, Ganne Ka Ras, Chai etc Obviously, weekends are crowded but you can visit the Parvati Temple just above the Gate. The temple is peaceful as well as serves a greater view of the location.

Historical place near Indore. Must visit anytime but best time is morning and Tea is superb. And entry charges are 10/- per person and spot is very good for photo clicks.

  • 5/5 Apoorv M. 2 years ago on Google
This gate doesn't worth visiting but again the nearby hills and roads makes you stop here for long, lovely roads and mountains, great downside views, weather is calm and peaceful. Just drive safe here as roads are curvy and you will find countless blind turns and looking at the views you might forgot to focus on road and that's what people do and met accident, be open and confident while driving as if you really wanted to enjoy mature beauty, take a break, park aside and have a wonderful look.

Jam gate is situated near jam fort and this historic architecture was built by Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar (queen of indore state) in 1791. It acts as a gateway between Malwa plateau and nimar region. It is situated on Mhow- mandleshwar road approximately 35 km from both sides. A ghat crossing after jam gate on the way to mandleshwar gets into nimar region of narmada valley. In monsoon season views are messmerising. The sunset view is also messmerising.

My experience was very good. I went on 14th july and weather on that was soo much relaxing. Foggy weather with light rain showers. I suggest to reach early morning to get less crowed so that you can enjoy more and feel relaxed.

Cycled to this place and back. From Indore. Undulating hills. Awesome ride. Beautiful vistas. Marvelled at the significance of Jam Darwaza....to demarcate the Malwa Plateau and the Nimad plains. The Fort...outpost at Chhoti Jam. Constructed in 1790..91 by DEVI AHILYA BAI HOLKAR ....stands a mute witness to passing time !!

Good place with a view. Visit Early Morning for better experience. Avoid going in afternoon or hot season as view won't feel that good. Bike ride takes about an hour or so from indore city.

There is not much to rate here, it is a historical place and just a gate. However, it has some great views from above the gate. Early mornings in winter and rainy season are the best time to visit this place. Enjoy the views with hot tea and maggie from local vendors. You will also get roasted corn (bhutta) in the rainy season.

That moment, it's so pure, so joyous, so fantastic I can't explain it enough. Great management, great hospitality, and greatest Nature scenes. You can click a lot of good photos for your profile and still have love of nature around you. All and all, great place, MUST VISIT.
