The hospital was established in 1975 AD to provide health care to the residents of the region, as well as to train students from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum and other universities, in addition to training doctors, postgraduate medical students, and workers in nursing and laboratory sciences. The hospital includes basic specialties in internal medicine, surgery, children, gynecology and obstetrics. The hospital also includes diagnostic and therapeutic units in laboratories, a blood bank, and radiology and ultrasound. It also includes  intensive care, operations complex, neonates, critical pregnancy, dialysis, mycetoma (which is the first center in the country for treating fungal flora), physical therapy, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, gastrointestinal and urinary tract endoscopy. Suba Hospital is the first hospital in the Arab world where a kidney transplant was performed.

It was built according to the latest specifications of its time and stood steadfast to provide service to citizens. It was afflicted by neglect and poor resources, which led to its deterioration. One of the oldest governance hospital, deteriorating too much, this hospital needs urgent intervention

Is a specialist hospital that have many specialist of any dependent and are capable of dealing with most complicated and advanced medical cases it's very affordable it also contains exam center for medical students and medical professionals.
