If you are planning to visit the kamakhya temple then I would suggest not to go on weekends. Weekends are very crowded, going early in the morning can help. The doors of the temple are opened at 7 am. There is a special VIP token which you can buy at the cost of β‚Ή500/- per person. The temple is really good and the view points you will come across while reaching the temple are mesmerizing.

First I took visit ticket and was asked to sit in waiting hall. I was in hall for 30 minutes, then gone through long queue for 6 hours. After that entered into garbh grih of maa kamakhya. Darshan was for 4-5 minutes. At the end, i was happy with the darshan. Jai Maa Kamakhya

Kamamkhya temple is amazing. Very devoted place and very holistic place. Bit the management is not good because during Ambovachi Mela there is no ferry car provided to reach temple which is very pathetic for various tourists.

What to say... Her power is so visible. Was there in Ambubachi season. Its more of a Tantric temple rather than a regular temple. This temple is the head of all the temples as Maa Kamakhya with Kameshvara is being worshipped here. The history says that Sati Maa's Yoni fell here and started worshipping the Yoni and every year for 3 to 4 days her menustral days as Ambubachi festival. people visit here more on those days. 2023 was most crowded during past years. Reay powerful. You should visit this place.

I went during Ambubachi time, it's heavy crowd and almost 4km hill trek to reach the temple. But ample support is available like health camp, free water, resting place. My overall experience is it's spiritual. Once you reach all difficulties go away. Jay Maa Kamakhya

A great temple in Assam. It is one of 51 Shakti Pithas of Hindu mythology. The temple is known for Devi Kamakhya. We visited here at 22-23 June, at the time of Ambubachi Mela. So , it was too crowded . The temple and the path of the temple is very clean. But there are many Pandas in the temple. They charge very much money for puja. So be aware of them.

If you go to temple at the top by vehicle, you miss one of the most scenic views there. After halfway covered the road uphill, take the stairs to reach the temple top.

Management is not good. Need to be more active. Need to provide milk for bhakats especially for small children and water for general public who stay in free Darshan line. Stop killing animals in the name of tradition. Rest all good. Food super.

You have to wait in queue for long 4-5 hours even longer than this. No need to buy puja basket you can take one good mala and diya batti as the actual maa darshan is only available and you can water of yoni pith and maa murat . But puja is not allowed inside. Panditjis will do puja in other maa idols

The Kamakhya Mandir Gate in Guwahati is a significant landmark that holds great spiritual and cultural importance. As the entrance to the renowned Kamakhya Temple, the gate welcomes visitors with its distinct architecture and symbolic representation. Upon approaching the Kamakhya Mandir Gate, I was immediately captivated by its intricate design and vibrant colors. The gate is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Assam. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is truly commendable, reflecting the devotion and artistry of the region. The gate serves as a transition point from the bustling city to the spiritual realm of the temple. Stepping through the gate, I felt a sense of reverence and tranquility. The surrounding area is well-maintained, with lush greenery and manicured lawns, creating a serene environment. One notable feature of the Kamakhya Mandir Gate is the presence of various religious symbols and motifs. These symbols serve as a reminder of the temple's significance and the rituals associated with the Kamakhya Devi. The gate also houses numerous small shrines where devotees can offer prayers and seek blessings. I found the atmosphere around the gate to be vibrant and alive with spiritual energy. The presence of devotees and the sounds of bells and chants add to the aura of devotion. The gate provides a glimpse into the fervor and faith of the people who visit the temple. However, it is important to note that during peak hours, the area around the Kamakhya Mandir Gate can get crowded, which may require some patience while waiting to enter the temple premises. It is advisable to plan the visit accordingly and be prepared for potential queues. Overall, the Kamakhya Mandir Gate serves as a magnificent introduction to the sacred Kamakhya Temple. Its architectural beauty, religious symbolism, and serene ambiance contribute to an unforgettable spiritual experience. Whether you are a devotee seeking blessings or a traveler interested in exploring the cultural heritage of Assam, a visit to the Kamakhya Mandir Gate is highly recommended.

You enter the temple walking through a road with shops in both sides. There's sacrifices of goats, pigeons, ducks, etc. So you will see lots of them roaming around. Therefore some squalor in the premises. The usual queue time for the deity sighting is around 5-6 hours.

This is my visit after 18 years and things have definitely developed a lot. Though the queue is long, it is made sure that there are proper sitting arrangements keeping in mind elderly people and the long waiting time. There are lights and fans in the corridors which would be a relief during summers. There are also tea vendors who come frequently with various options. However, what I did not like is the paid VIP queue because of which others had to wait for almost 6-7 hours. There should definitely be a special queue for patients, elderly or disabled people but not for people who are paying more. There is a special energy in the temple and many would feel it once they visit.

This Kamakhya temple has a lot of recognition. Many big people come here to worship. There is a long queue of common people here for which you will have to come very early. It takes 5-6 hours for normal people to have darshan. There is a separate ticket system for VIP people. You can have early darshan by taking tickets ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 2000. This temple is spread over a very large area. There is also a pond inside. Where you can wash your hands and feet. There are many Prasad shops outside the temple. There is also a ghost place inside the temple to sit peacefully. The temple is on a hill 3 km from the main road, you can come here either by personal taxi or by auto.

Every year during 'Ambubashi Mela' from 22 june to 26 june the main door of the Maa Kamakhya temple is closed. Also people have to visit the temple campus by foot from down side to up side of the Nilachal hill almost 3.3 km during these festival.

A very much blessed mandir with a lot of devotees, the temple opens at 0600am, there are two types of line, one normal and other special with 500β‚Ή charge, if u r looking to join normal line, it starts with 0400am, people start gathering at normal line at 0400am, if u looking to join special line, it also start in early morning but passes will be given from 0600, they send in the batch of 100 people at a time from alternatively from normal and special line, in special lines 200 people with be seated in two hall with each 100 devotees, the best thing that makes this temple different from other that it has sitting facility for every line, and even have ACs fitted in the gallery for devotees and unlike others, people are permitted to worship Mata ji with their hand and no one is shouting there "aage badho". That's why lines are slow but running. They changed the outer side to make a queue management system, if u r light hearted then avoid visiting there during Navratri.

A truly exceptional place to visit. We had to wait for hours to enter because it was the first day of the new year. -Would suggest everyone reach there early morning if you don't want to be in line for hours, especially during the daytime on summer days. -Special occasions/holidays attract a lot of crowds. -Carrying a water bottle would definitely come in handy.
