The jeep safari is really worthy. Best to visit on February. Less visitors so probability of getting sight of animals are more. I was fortunate enough to encounter 3 rhinos from really close distance and the majestic Bengal Tiger on the same day. The management can further be improved, so that the connectivity. Had a great experience...

A less crowded but well maintained natural forest area. Very near to Guwahati compared to Kaziranga or Manaz. You can enjoy Jeep Safari as well as Elephant Safari. Sure to meet plenty of birds, elephants deers and a few Single horned rhinos. Finding a tiger 8n yhis tiger reserve is a bit difficult. Nearest town is Mangaldoi which is goid for shopping food and nice hotel stay.

Tiger reserve Gate opens at 7am to 3pm. Ticket for four-wheeler Rs.1500/- plus Rs.100/- per person. For staying facility private tourist lodge available @Rs.2000/- per room per night. Better to stay at Tezpur. There are many good hotels at Tezpur.

PROS: Around 2.5 hours from Guwahati, so same day trip is possible. Resembles Kaziranga. Dense forest, tall grass, water bodies, everything is present. We have seen Rhino, deers and few birds. CONS: Animal sighting is very less. Note: No good restaurants are available near the park. Nearest place for lunch is Rowta.

Wildlife is finicky, and just taking safaris doesn't mean you'll see animals, but our Jeep + Elephant safaris got us almost nothing. Others report seeing a lot, but they likely were just lucky. After 2.5 hrs in a Jeep, we only saw 5 rhinos extremely far away (+100meters) and 3 elephants. In the same time in Kaziranga, we saw 50 rhinos - some within 3 metres - and over 20 elephants. More people/tourists there, but there's waaaaaayyyy more wildlife too. If you're looking for an amazing experience seeing the incredible wildlife of NE India, you'll see far more in Kaziranga than in Orang. Any posts from people visiting Orang saying they saw tigers or anything else up close were just lucky. But you don't need to be 'lucky' in Kaziranga. There are thousands of animals all over that park, every .. single .. day.

Great place to explore wilderness. Spread over only 78.81sq. km. One of the well protected areas in Assam. Important for Rhinoceros, Tiger, Elephant, Pygmy hog, Bengal Florican, Hog deer and hundreds of bird species.
