A beautiful architecture with 1958 construction. Nice and peaceful ambience. It has so much open space and has taller walls. Situated in banks of Zarpat river. We can visit before 5:00pm. It also has Lord Shiva and goddess Santoshi temples near it. The sculpture is so clear and beautiful. Must visit it if you be in Chandrapur.

Chandrapur city is suoounded on three sides by two rivers namely Irai and Zarpat. While Irai is west side, Zarpat flows on East and South side of the city. Anchaleshwara temple is located on east side of city on the banks of Zarpat river. The temple was by built by Gond King 'Khandkya Ballalshah" who was ruler of Chandrapur. Anecdote is that the king was suffering from a horrible skin disease hence was named as Khandkya. The king got cured from the skin disease the holy water from the small kund and then built a temple in which kund was developed as abode of Shiva and named as Anchaleshwara. Its old hindu architecture and holy beautifully place. The tomb of the king built by Hirai, his queen is just besides the temple and worth to visit for it s beautiful architecture. As its very near to city, we can easily reach there by hiring auto from Bus stand/ railway station or your hotel. Chandrapur being a small city maximum distance will be around ten km and auto charges may be around Rs100.

Best historical place to visit while in Chandrapur. There is a temple, a Samadhi and a fort, all of which have beautiful structures. There are beautiful sculpted carvings on temple walls. The samadhi was closed but one could go up the stairs and peep inside the gates. The surrounding fort is old and has some good structures for taking photos. Parking for 4 wheelers would be a challenge here.

A heritage in the city of Chandrapur. A tribute to the royalties from the citizens of the city by maintaining and cleaning it. Staying in the city so long but didn't knew the area. Now it feels like a different corner in the city. Must visit.

Its pretty good place for the people who are interested in history of chandrapur Gond Dynasty The Achaleshwar Mahadeva temple is just outside the Gond fort in Chandrapur town. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva where the sacred bull Nandi fronts the central temple housing.

Peaceful temple in Chandrapur City. It is surrounded by ancient walls so effectively keeps the noise of traffic out. No crowd at all in this temple despite closeness to Mahakali Temple.
