Everything is good but only breakfast menu has not got changed for 3 days

The hotel was not bad at all. The rooms where also nice. Though was it very annoying, that they insisted at check in, that the time had to be 3 pm. I can understand, that when I came the first time, at around 1:30, the rooms might not have been ready. (most other hotels, would make an effort to make a room ready, but not here) So I came again around 13 minutes before 3 pm, and was still told to wait. Another family came shortly after me and was also told to wait. And another couple. At that time, I think there could max be 5 minutes to 3 pm. I know it said check in after 3 pm, but I have never experienced a place to be so rigid about it. I would not consider this good guest service. I decided to join the hotel club, to get the 10 Euros, since I haven't paid for breakfast. With very small letters it said, that the 10 euros can not be used for breakfast. What nonsens is that? That is exactly, what one would like it for. I was told, I can only use it for drinks, like wine or cocktails. Who drinks wine and cocktails at 11 am, and right after breakfast? I don't. I also think, that it is a problem, that there only was 1 working elevator. there are 7 floors. I had written, that I prefer a room with bathtub, but at check in, I was told, that if I wanted that, I had to downgrade my reservation. And since it was already prepaid, I would just loose money. A lot of people still like tubs! These is the reason, why I only gave this place 3 stars.

My filter on booking included air conditioning so this hotel showed up. But not all rooms have air conditioning. That was really confusing. We had a confort room but no air conditioning.I don’t agree with this definition of “confort”. The main purpose of a hotel room is to get a good sleep. We couldn’t sleep at all so there was no confort. The room was hot even if it was middle of September and it was not hot outside. I don’t recommend this hotel

One of the worst experience i ever had. Racist rude staffs in reception No courtesy towards a foreigner Truly racist They treated me so bad.very bad mannered staffs I will never suggest ur hotel to my friends going to kiel for studies. Though im a doctor i was treated very badly in reception i felt very bad on staying in this hotel. They are not interested in treating indians equally It was seen on their face and expressions Hotel management Better look after it. Very rude. They are not ready to hear what im saying,Though they are good in english. Two male staffs where very rude. Female staff was kind. Those two male where interested only in smoking always rather caring about the customers.

Visiting Kiel for a friend's birthday, we decided to make a weekend of it -- and how pleased we were that we did so! A large part of that is down to our overall experience of the Steigenberger Conti Hansa. Set amidst Kiel's harbourfront parks, its proximity to the harbour itself, a five minute stroll away, is a big attraction. Of course, that's a major convenience if you're setting off on a Baltic cruise, which we, however, were not. But the busy harbour is a spectacular place simply to watch everything happening, from the enormous cruise ships coming and going, to the tiny (by comparison!) kayakers. The recently refurbished Steinberger itself, is a relaxing place for a long-weekend break. Perhaps also a good base for Kiel's famous regatta, Kieler Woche. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms, with their tastefully discreet maritime theme, welcoming. The restaurant may have the sort of conservative menu to be expected in this kind of establishment, with its preponderant cruise-ship clientele. But the ingredients are good and the cooking by and large well executed. Staff are pleasant, cheerful and helpful. We are looking forward to a return visit.

The hotel is located very well if you want to go down town by foot, as it’s not that far away. However, first impressions of the hotel were negative due to the little things that shouldn’t be wrong. 1. My complimentary water in the empty mini bar was 3/4 empty with the complimentary label still on (see photo) 2. My toilet role was empty (see photo) with no spare to be seen. When I spoke to the reception about the 2 points, I was given the 2 items in my hand instead of them being replenished the correct way. Parking is 21€ a night, which I think is a bit high considering your staying in the hotel and not just using the parking as a separate option. All in all the hotel is fine, with a nice spa area.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff and nice rooms. Location is close to the city centre with the possibility for a walk in a green area.

Stayed in the Kiel Steigenberger Conti Hansa Hotel for a weekend from Friday to Sunday. The hotel location is as well very close to the city center as to the "Kiel Line" walking promenade along the harbor and estuary with nice views and close looks to e.g. berthed cruise ships and several food and drink outlets. Breakfast was great but ensure an early wake up in order to bypass the breakfast rush. We recommend any time before 8:30am. If weather and temperature allows have a seat on the patio. Also for dinner in the evening. We enjoyed a fried plaice dinner and it was cooked to perfection. Service and drinks were very good and the waitress was very attentive. Good quality for money. Our harbour view room was OK but - as to mho - lacks - at least in this summer days - an air condition. We slept with open windows and found final rest and acceptable temperature in the middle of the night. This off course depends on travel season. The parking garage is closely and expensive. Better parking options are available in the area. The Kiel city center is not a reason to travel to this city...

Located quite conveniently by the Kiel Cruise terminal. The lobby and the dinning area is very well lit with lots of windows. The standard rooms were a bit small, but the facility is very clean and modern. If you are in a big group of family, you can also reserve a dinning room for a breakfast.

I checked in late at night and was given a a room that was smokey and smelly. I am not a smoker so asked for a different room. The next room I got was not properly cleaned; there was trash in the trash cans and the bathroom was dirty. The receptionist was nice enough to switch me to a third room which was much nicer. Definitely not one needs after a long day of traveling and work. Also, there is scaffolding on one side of the hotel, right outside the room balconies on which I imagine construction workers work during the day.

A really good hotel. Clean, modern rooms, good breakfast.

The room and breakfast are nice. Fitness is small but it’s enough for a daily workout. Sauna is the best here, I really enjoyed it. The hotel is recently renovated but front desk is chaotic. There is no communication between shifts and it caused us inconvenience

Was there for a couple of days this week. No working ventilation and no aircon in the rooms - absolutely terrible in the days of heat records in Kiel. Beds are really hard which wasn't very comfortable (for me). And the shower head was installed wrong so it couldn't be used right. Of course, they cannot control the weather and aircon is usually not needed. But adding to that, having workers in the hotel, starting with angle grinders and power drills at 8:00 in the middle of the summer holiday season is not ok. On the bright side, the waiters and staff in the restaurant and bar were very helpful, polite and fun, both at night and breakfast. And the breakfast in general was really good - they even had some gluten free options!

Now I can't give very good feedback. There was no air conditioning in the room and the room was unbearably hot. Horrible pungent odor in the hallway. Breakfast was good.

Nice location as it is very close to City center. The holiday cruisers departure is very close as well. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean.

Excellent hotel for business trips.

The hotel confirmed our booking for 2 rooms both on the phone and at the hotel front desk 2 hours before check-in. Dont trust your booking, you might not have a room even if they confirm it! Had to drive all the way home to Denmark because og their mistake. No other offer were given at the hotel.

Nice hotel in a great area. Very friendly staff and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

Convenient central location, a short walk from a few reasonable restaurants in the Altstadt. Typical business orienated hotel for short stay visitors. Rooms were fine but small and dull. It is not a holiday hotel. Only draw back was limited and very tight parking underneath. Park nearby at the Parkhaus Schlossgarage, cheaper and much more space.
