Quite good reconstructions including the boardwalk roads

Natürlich ist es "nur" ein Nachbau einer echten Wikingersiedlung und kein Original, trotzdem erwacht hier Geschichte zum Leben und ist plastisch erlebbar. Das macht es schon zu etwas Besonderem. Irgendwie erinnert es an das Welterbe der Pfahlbauten am Bodensee. Erhaltenswert und eine Empfehlung.

Nach langer Zeit mal wieder hier gewesen und das ganze noch mit ner Wanderung kombiniert. Das Museum ist informativ und liebevoll eingerichtet und das Personal ist stets freundlich und hilfsbereit und auch gerne mal zu Späßen aufgelegt. Das Dorf lohnt sich auch immer zu besuchen, egal ob es gerade belebt wird, ein Markt stattfindet, oder eine andere Veranstaltung durchgeführt wird. Komme gerne wieder.^^

Nicht befestigte Wege, kann mit Tagesticket zusammen mit Museum besucht werden, es ist aber aktuell, wegen Corona, fast nur morgens möglich es sich in Ruhe anzuschauen. Für kleinere Kinder eher ungeeignet. Wer will kann viel Geld in den einzelnen Häusern und Ständen loswerden.

Tatsächlich hatte speziell ich mir das ganze doch etwas größer vorgestellt (mit Vorrecherche wäre das nicht passiert, also eher mein Thema) und etwas weniger kommerziell. Mir ist schon klar warum das gemacht wird, es muss alles finanziert werden. Dennoch war das Meiste überteuert und man konnte gut beobachten, dass mehr Menschen am Konsum von Essen und teuren Souvenirs als an den Behausungen und dem Leben der Wikinger interessiert waren. So zumindest mein Eindruck. Nichtsdestotrotz fanden wir es als Famile interessant und wir hatten einen schönen Tag.

Das Wikingerdorf lässt sich in Kombination mit dem Museumsticket besuchen. Im Vergleich zum Museum erschien es mir etwas lieblos. Es waren ein paar Akteure die dort waren. Diese haben auch etwas erzählt, aber für diese Anzahl an Menschen einfach zu wenig. Es gab weder Schilder noch sonstige Auskünfte in dem Dorf. Klar gab es die im Museum, sofern man sich noch dran erinnert... Die Häuser waren sehr dunkel von innen. Wenigstens eine Ambiente Lampe, auch wenn sie nicht in die Zeit passt ;) wäre schön gewesen. Auch hier, wie im Museum sind keine Hunde erlaubt.

Das Frühlingsfest in Haitherbu war sehr gut besucht und sehr eindrücklich. Leider gab es nur einer bratwurst Bude und einen Getränkestand hier war sehr lange Warteschlangen. Aufgrund der vielen Menschen könnte man nur bedingt die Häuser besichtigen. Wenn es leerer ist, ist das entschieden Eindrücklicher.

Gut gestaltete Geschichte der Wikinger Häuser. Man kann gemütlich durch die Häuser schlendern. Sehr angenehmer Ort. Weitläufig das Ganze. Gute Wege für jeden begehbar.

Nice, but not fun with all the people around.

Very nice place to stay. My wife even said it's looking romantic to sleep there. Maybe an idea? Haithabu Hotel, sleeping like a Viking hahaha. One minus though, I expected something big. It's really small and easily crowded which takes part of the magic away.

Theres not much to see, too expensive for the price and mostly i mean a lot with no translation in english or danish to those who cant or no knowledge in german.Otherwise the place is too big but missing something.

It's a great location where children and parents can find out how the old Vikings lived here. Strongly recommend!

The museum was quite interesting for school aged kids and adults. The littles were rather bored and would have rathered jump off of the exhibits 🙈 The walk to the village is veeeery long. So definitely bring a stroller or auch for smaller kids. The village was quite fascinating though. It was really interesting to see how each member of the community participated. We were there quite late in the afternoon however and everyone was packing up for the day (hence the 4 stars). We would have loved to see the blacksmith actually working. Had we known, we would have gone to the village first upon arrival. Overall however, a nice afternoon with the family.

Probably the best and most impressive place outside of Scandinavia to learn about ancient Viking life. Haithabu was a true metropolis during Viking times. Some buildings have been restored at the site of the excavations and can be visited. If you take a short walk along the bay, you will reach a nicely made museum which gives you a lot of background information and where you can look at weapons, art and even a boat from Viking times. Tip: start your tour at the museum.

I enjoyed my visit despite only a few exhibits have limited English. Rest you will only be able to enjoy if you are a fluent German speaker. If it wasn't for Covid19, I could have had an English audio guide which would have made it easier. I still enjoyed the visit and would recommend it.
