Bit spooky but worth visiting... basically the entrance is forbidden, however abandoned as it is you can easily access. Be aware of your car ( don’t leave valuable goods that can be seen from the outside , lots of stealing issues but also damaged cars). No need to mention that you should visit the area only during the day!!!

Sadly left to ruin, despite apparent funding from the EU (Hah! I wonder whose pocket that went into?!). The grounds of Tatoi are beautiful to walk around. Just a shame that this historical place hasn't been preserved and presented to the public.

Great place for a short day-trip, not far away from Athens. There are numerous hiking trails and bicycle paths. Hopefully the restoration process will be finished soon and Athens will gain a new recreational area!

The palace has been abandoned since 1973, though the real damage for the site happened in 2021, when the fires came near the mansion. It is no longer surrounded by dense cypress forest; the walk requires going through burned trees (and some newly grown deciduous thickets). The restauration works in the residence are ongoing, so in short time sightseeing of the site should be possible. As for July 2023, majority of the buildings is ruined, though one can see new information graphics, paths and some rebuilt housing. Though is it a pleasure to wander around in this abandoned place, I await the site to be restored and the nature - someday - regrown.

(Translated by Google) I had ridden a bicycle to the royal palaces. The route is excellent it was really worth all the effort. I entered from an alley that eventually took me to the royal palaces which are unfortunately in poor condition. Nevertheless, it is worth visiting!

(Translated by Google) Area of incredible natural beauty in the national park of Parnitha. Unfortunately many of the buildings have been left at the mercy of the weather and have been destroyed. There are many beautiful hiking and cycling trails in the dense forest. You can see the old palace which like some other buildings is in the process of restoration.

The palace is very beautiful, but it is under renovation and construction, the house itself is surrounded by fence, still worth visiting, not far from Athens, via cinematic road, beautiful nature, few years ago area was burned out by wild fires, not much forest left, however I still enjoyed our trip

Such a pity that a magic place like this had been left abandoned. We should respect and honour our history without prejudice and fanatism. This place could be one of Athens top spots and a real gift to the citizens.

Ruins, nice to see but abandoned and derelict. Would be nice to see it maintained a little bit. Still, if you fancy a quick walk in the woods out the heat and want to check some history out at the same time you can kill a bit of time here.

An exceptional park full with the nature's beauty and history. Ideal for picnicking, walking, biking and a travel to history or fairy tails. Old Royal Palaces in pine woods and plain grass. It brings to mind "The Crown" - the Netflix tv series. A cemetery where Kings, Queens and Princesses have their last home. Among others the one of Prince Andrew's, i.e. Kings Philip father, & Prince Charles grandfather .

Nothing to do actually to go so far. We found a burnt-out forest around unfortunately (they had big fire here, very sorry that happened...), nice fountain where you can drink a fresh water, a minor under reconstruction. Just go if it's somewhere on your way

Although only 30-45 minutes from Athens, it is located in Parnitha mountain national Forest so it is inhabited within nature. It is actually the area where the former royal family of Greece had their vacation palace. Unfortunately today all buildings are closed and the place has been left without any serious development. So what you should expect is being able to walk, run, bike and explore nature. Kids love this place too. Pic Nik and outdoor activities with them are a great idea. Foxes and dears can be spotted within the area. Most of them are familiar with humans presence. What to be aware of: 1- The main entrance is closed so you enter the place by a hall in fence 10 meters aside. This entrance is -1-2 kms- before from where Google maps target you. That is because the guide for the last part you through a Forest road which is closed 2. Have food and water with you if you plan to stay for a while. No shops to buy anything except some tavernas 5km away - good idea though for a lunch or dinner before going back-. 3. 4 not 5 stars because it would be the greatest place for excursion if some gentle development had taken place.

PS: DO NOT throw rubbish and protective masks, stop leaving half of your coffee wherever you find it. SHAME that we still say this in the year 2021. The area HAS garbage bins. Hold the car for a few minutes and find a bucket. Shame simply. (Original) Υπέροχο δασόκτημα, θεωρείται πως το έχουν εγκαταλείψει αλλά το άγριο δάσος που το περιτριγυρίζει είναι εξίσου γοητευτικό.
