This is an Ethiopian restaurant disaster!! Food wasn’t served as an Ethiopian restaurant typically does. What’s rice doing in there? The options for sauce were super limited. And the worse, there was COCKROACH walking in the cabbage. I told the waiter/cook and he just took the ladder being used to serve the food, scooped cockroach out, and then placed the ladder back like it’s no big deal 😲. The horror!! This, wasn’t an Ethiopian experience and it was a health hazard. Never going back

Amazing Ethiopian food and great hospitality

Had a wonderful meal with friends at Lalibela and can't wait to go back. Surprisingly good Ethiopian food in the heart of Kigali. The restaurant is in a house and has seating indoors and outdoors. There is also a bar with tv outside. If you are a fan of Ethiopian cuisine, just go! Enjoy!

Great and authentic Ethiopian food. Coming from addis a week ago we had the shiro and tibs and both were awesome so we ordered even a second round of tibs. Ingredients were authentic, meat was delicious and the mitmita tasty. Not the watered down European versions.

Good food, good vibe, friendly owner!

I recently visited the branch in Kimihurura on a Friday evening buffet night and was really disappointed. I have spent quite a bit of time in Ethiopia and absolutely love Ethiopian food, but the different dishes I have tried that evening were not authentic Ethiopian taste. I felt they had been trying too hard to adapt the dishes too a foreigner's taste, and sauces that should have a very specific and spicy taste turned into a rather tasteless tomato sauce.

Not the best experience. The waiters are very difficult to get a hold of. The waiters are not informed of specials being advertised on Facebook by the restaurant. The client has to prove they aren't lying when they say there is supposed to be a complementary coffee for example. Chicken dish in the buffet hardly had chicken.

Wonderful food. Excellent Ethiopian coffee experience. Very friendly staff.

Amazing Shiro! I ate here several times when staying in Kimihurura. Really good service too.

The food is not as good as ethiopian food

I am Ethiopian. Food was great - we had Shiro and Tibs and it was really up to the real ethiopian standard. Delicious. The restaurant manager was also very friendly - what a great way to represent the country. Thank you for the great meal and service. I definitely recommend it!

Never again. This place has sadly declined in quality and service over the years. They charged us 26,000 per platter which was 13,000 in the menu and the when we gave the manager feedback about this the left us in the middle of the conversation and did not come back. Poor service and extremely poor conditions of the place itself (see pictures).
