Fantastic experience. We used Go Kigali to take us to Akagera for the day. Our guide, Desiree, was delightful and extremely knowledgeable. We saw lots of wildlife- rhinos, many elephants, giraffes, impalas, water buffalos, lots and lots of zebras. The food was also surprisingly good for a boxed lunch and breakfast- it is catered by the Marriott, so great quality. Would definitely use Go Kigali again.

We did the half day kigali city tour with Go Kigali tours. It was such a fantastic experience! The guide Desiree (I am not sure if I spelled it right 😁) was excellent! She was very informative and funny as well!! .We got to know a lot about the history of Rwanda, genocide, the comeback after this. the history of Kigali, about the local people and culture, the milk bar, the murals and stories behind them!!!The itinerary was very good that it covers all the important parts of the point of interest but without rushing too much!!! I highly recommend this company who wants to do the kigali tour. You will be in professional hands!!!

Fantastic full day tour of Kigali! Our tour guide, Eric, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and so passionate about his country. Each stop was interesting and gave you a flavor for Rwanda and it's people.

If you’re visiting Kigali for the first time, then this trip is an ABSOLUTE must! We were lucky enough to have Desiree as our guide and she was incredible and so fun to be with! Ask for her if you can and you will not be disappointed!! We would have never been able to have planned such a perfect day! We started with a walking tour of the downtown business area, followed by a visit to local and professional murals, a fun visit to a Kigali milk bar to try local milk and learn of the importance of milk bars, a delicious stop for snacks to have local samosas and donuts (seriously some of the best samosas I’ve ever eaten), a reload for coffee from that was so good, a trip to Kimironko market where Desiree helped us navigate the chaos and my wife and I were able to purchase a pattern that was made into a shirt and dress and bag, an authentic lunch where we got to try foods I would have never thought to order, and then we finished with an important visit to the Rwanda Genocide memorial. Not once during the tour did I ever feel rushed or tired from the activities. It was a well planned out experience that left me feeling connected with Kigali and Rwanda and I’d recommend this tour with Desiree for everyone!

We spent 12 days with the team at Go Kigali - mainly Bosco and Eric - and went on a Kigali city tour, safari in Akagera, hiking and biking in and around Volcanoes National Park, boating, fishing, and birdwatching in Lake Kivu, and hiking, chimp tracking, and tea production in Nyungwe. We could've never planned or accomplished this packed itinerary without Go Kigali. From the start, they were amazing to work with. Highly responsive and flexible to our needs, which was crucial during COVID. In the interest of not writing too long of a review, here are some highlights we experienced by traveling with Go Kigali: -Seamless management during the trip: no pressure on us to manage any aspect of bookings (eg check in/COVID testing at parks and hotels, contacting activity guides) letting us fully relax and just enjoy the experience (the COVID tests would've been logistical nightmares on our own) -Above and beyond in terms of attention to detail (snacks in car, reusable water bottles, always planning ahead, always on time) -Highly professional and knowledgeable yet very warm and friendly hosts. They took care to help us celebrate the reason for our trip - our long delayed honeymoon! -Their connections everywhere helped us meet lovely people we never would've met on our own. For instance, they arranged a trip to meet the women at an embroidery collective we had admired online, which we didn't even realize was possible to visit. The local guides we met throughout the trip were local experts that Go Kigali had worked with in the past. We were also able to join the fishermen on Lake Kivu, which was an amazing experience. We already had high expectations before the trip, but were pretty nervous due to COVID. The team at Go Kigali far exceeded our expectations, and navigated the COVID requirements in a way that minimized their impact on our trip. Thank you as well to Xavi, Muzamiru, and all the others that worked behind the scenes to make this the trip of a lifetime for us! We now have such a massive appreciation for the beautiful country and people of Rwanda. Really great people and a great tour company - we would unreservedly recommend to anyone. We are trying to figure out when we can get back again ourselves!

I spent two great days travelling with Eric from Go Further/Kigali — first to Nyanza to see the Kings house museum and then a full day exploring Kigali together. Other reviews have touched on the great local sites visited and the enjoyable pace of the city tour which showcases the dynamic, friendly and changing life of Kigali. Eric had probably been to all the places many times but it always felt like he was a true travel companion, enthusiastic about things as if for the first time. We also had a great time bonding over a shared love of good coffee. Hope to see you again soon Eric.

The team at GoKigali organized an amazing 3 day trip for us to Uganda, where we trekked through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to visit with a family of 12 mountain gorillas and then spent two days relaxing at the gorgeous Lake Bunyonyi. They were wonderful to work with, providing a number of different options for the trip, and modifying them to meet our budget and timeline. During the remainder of our stay the GoKigali team provided countless excellent recommendations for things to do and places to stay and eat. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

One of the most moving and comprehensive tours I've ever taken. Desiree was a fantastic and personable guide and she really showed us the resiliency of the Rwandan people. Hearing her stories and seeing how far the country has come was an unforgettable experience. I felt very safe the whole time, the food was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the company.

Had a great time, i felt like i got to see the city Kigali unlike i would have been able to do on my own. My guide Desire was awesome and i recommend her to everyone she gave the tour a personal touch. The genocide museum was eye opening and informative but will admit a little difficult (emotion wise) to go thru, if you are too sensitive i suggest you not enter the children room, that was extremely hard.

I had just recently moved to Kigali and did the City Tour with Go Kigali. It was a great way to see the city and learn more about Kigali and Rwanda! Our tour guide, Eric was phenomenal, going above and beyond for us! I would recommend Go Kigali Tours for anyone who wants to experience Rwanda and learn more about the country.

My father and I took this tour on 21 Jan 2023 and it was PHENOMENAL. Our guide, Desiree, displayed a true love for not only her country, but also her job. She was full of life, friendly and interacted with the locals, helping the tour feel less "tourist" and more with the culture. Each spot we visited was wonderful and there was not a boring second. Our lunch was incredible, delicious and doesn't even begin to describe it, I would absolutely revisit the restaurant again. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kigali who would like to get a broad view of the city.

Desiree is the star of this show! We LOVED her calm kind energy / her informative guiding / her sense of humor and how she welcomed us like instant comrades. That being said, this tour would definitely benefit from a change of timing / activities (in our opinion). We needed WAY more time at the Genocide Memorial (suggestion: skip Mt Kigali as there is no interesting city view there) and time to process that experience (so maybe follow that up with the lunch or coffee time). We also would have liked way more of a walking tour through different communities in town (not as much just driving time).

My friends and I recently booked a tour with Go Kigali Tours & Boutique, guided by Eric. It was an unforgettable experience! Eric's expertise and passion for the city made the journey truly remarkable. The tour was well-planned, showcasing Kigali's history, culture, and innovation. In addition, Eric also took us on an unforgettable journey to Akagera National Park. Eric's knowledge of the park's wildlife made the experience truly exceptional. The transportation arrangements were comfortable, and the itinerary allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the park's natural beauty. I highly recommend Go Kigali Tours & Boutique for an exceptional and enriching travel experience!!

What a perfect way to see Kigali in one day! Our guide Eric was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging - we really enjoyed his company. We were able to see things we wouldn't have thought of - like a popular 'Milk Bar' (don't miss!). We were also taken to the top of Mt. Kigali for spectacular views, a traditional Rwandan meal for lunch, the open air market, trip around beautiful city streets, a fabulous coffee stop, and ended with a truly momentous visit to the genocide museum. Tip: do not sign up for any tour that begins with this museum - it is simply too brutal to start the day with. Go Kigali did it right by ending the day with such a somber visit - but it is absolutely not to be missed. Thank you, Eric, for a fabulous tour of Kigali!

I booked Go Kigali Tours for a solo trip to Akagera National Park and they were excellent. The online booking process was smooth and I received detailed information. Pickup was scheduled for 5am from my hotel and they were on time. Special mention to my tour guide Eric and the driver Alex who were fantastic. They were very knowledgeable, kind and extremely professional. Overall, the trip was value for money and their service and offering were as advertised. I highly recommend this company.

You can’t go wrong with Go Kigali Tours. This is my second time in Rwanda and my second time using them, and they are just the best; helpful and kind. I wanted a specific tour since I had been there before and they tailored it precisely to my needs, and even on the day of we made some changes based on how we were feeling and they had no problems changing things on the fly. Desiree and Erik were just incredibly friendly, Desiree during the booking process and when we got to chat about our dogs before my tour started, and Erik during booking and as he lead our tours. The whole team really makes it their duty to ensure you have the best experiences, which can be tough when you are touring sites with such horrific memories attached to them. I do not hesitate to visit Rwanda again and again, and will always make sure the Go Kigali team handles my tours.

My colleagues and I had an amazing time on our Go Kigali Tour of the Akagera National Park in Rwanda. Our guide, Muzamiru Kiyaga, picked us up at the Marriott in Kigali at 5AM. He already had a breakfast of yogurt, croissants and muffins, and hard boiled eggs packed for us as well as a lunch with a delicious chicken sandwich, chips, and fruit, plus plenty of water and other drinks. On the 2 hour drive to the park, we stopped by a great cafe and shop where we got a much appreciated caffeine boost. Muzamiru made sure we were well prepared with all the paperwork we needed to enter the park. The park itself was awe inspiring and the search for animals was exhilarating. We were blessed to have Muzamiru's vast knowledge of the animals to help us better understand what we were seeing. We drove from the marshlands to the heights of the mountains, where we stopped for a beautiful scenic lunch. After about 9 hours of exploring the park and seeing many species of animals, birds, and flora and fauna, we headed back to the hotel. It was a fantastic memory well worth the cost!

What a great way to get a taste of Kigali! I opted for Go Kigali's half day city tour, and was thoroughly impressed at the amount of things we were able to pack into our agenda without it feeling rushed. Desiree guided myself and another tour-goer to a number of places I don't think I would've thought to go to otherwise -- I loved being able to scope out a lot of the murals within the city, to have a spot of fresh milk at a milk bar, and to get some clothes tailor-made at Kimironko! Desiree is such a wealth of knowledge and a joy to spend time with. I would absolutely consider booking another tour with Go Kigali in the future. The city tour is such a great, low-key way to orient yourself to Kigali!

My husband and I just had the best guide and driver ever, and since we do a lot of traveling, we have booked lots of tour companies. Eric was our Go Kigali Tours guide and he was the most helpful, sociable and kind person. The airline lost my luggage the day before which meant I didn’t have appropriate footwear to hike to see the mountain gorillas, nor the recommended rain coat or even suntan lotion or mosquito spray. The airline had no idea if my luggage would be found so I asked Eric if during the city tour he could take us to some stores. He was so accommodating and also took care of getting us a SIM card. We can’t thank him enough. The tour itself was great. The driver, who goes by the name No. 8 (because he is the eighth child in his family), negotiated the busy, narrow streets with care and waited patiently for us as we shopped. We had booked a private tour so it could be customized. Highlights included the Mount Kigali viewpoint, the Question coffee shop (which buys its coffee beans from female farmers), and all the fabulous restaurant and food stops. We enjoyed a snack of the best samosas we have ever had and a lunch consisting of authentic Kigali food including a delicious green banana dish. It was a great first day in Kigali after a terrible night of waiting at the baggage carousel for over an hour only to discover my luggage wasn’t on board!

Had an amazing time with Eric at GoKigali tours. It was a well-paced and very informative tour. Thanks to Eric, he was very accommodating with all our requests. Would definitely recommend everyone take this up when you are in Kigali. Highlights of the trip for me were the milk bar, the local lunch (could have it every day) and the museum.

Amazing experience. My group debated what kind of experiences we'd like to have in Rwanda for weeks, and once we arrived in Rwanda, we looked at multiple options before choosing Go Kigali. I couldn't imagine a better experience. From the second we met our guide Eric at 4:30am for our Akagera day tour to finishing with a city tour of Kigali the very next day, we had an amazing time. Our driver and Eric could spot hidden animals that we never would've seen. Their passion and excitement showed despite going on probably countless tours. The city tour experience is something everyone needs for a full experience of Rwanda. My group was in Rwanda for a week prior to taking the city tour, and we experienced far more in Rwanda with the day tour than that entire week. I will be sure to recommend Eric and Go Kigali to anyone I know visiting Rwanda!

We did the day tour with Go Kigali and we could not have better experience about the city. The service provided is of the highest quality and professionalism. Our guide Colombe demonstrated extensive knowledge of Kigali's attractions, culture and history, was undoubtedly a major highlight. We met a famous milk bar, a tea house, a local market, Mount Kigali, had a delicious lunch at Tamu Tamu restaurant, had a quality coffee and finished the tour at the unmissable Kigali Memorial Center. Without a doubt, we strongly recommend this tour as a way of getting to know Kigali's attractions in depth.

This has been the best trip in my life. Knowing the place it's a wondeful experience more for me that I am not from Africa, not even close. Go Kigali Tours was so nice since the first moment we talked with the people. The transaction was fast, no problems with the booking. The guide and the driver were so kind, really helpful and also really happy to use. We enjoyed a lot the trip. They have everything prepared: food, transport, tickets, snacks, drinks. Nothing to complain for. Totally amazing experience. Highly recommended.

This was the best thing we did in Kigali! An amazing day out with an amazing guide, Eric. It was such an engaging, passionate tour of the city and I highly recommend it to all visiting! GoKigali was responsive, flexible and just so welcoming.

Booked an overnight safari to Akagera National Park with these guys. From the onset, communication with Xavi was incredible, as he tailored a trip perfectly suited to my preferences. My guide, Eric, and driver, Kanani, were consummate professionals the entire weekend, and even though I'm sure both had been to the park dozens of times, you would have thought it was their first time with how passionate and dedicated they were to seeing the animals. I think we were the only people in the park that day to come face to face with about 40 African elephants...it was incredible. I can't recommend this company enough.

From even before the moment I decided to take the tour, to the end when I was dropped off at my apartment, the process was lovely! I couldn’t be more impressed. I can’t praise this service enough. The lady I booked the tour from, at the Boutique, was friendly and bright. Then the actual tour was amazing to say the least. I was guided by Eric and Mzamiru of Go Kigali Tours. Each stop had such a rich meaning for me. The milk bar at Mzee Yousuf’s place was sentimental for me. It took me back to my childhood, it reminded me of my faith and culture. The murals were enlightening and so rich with substance. I learnt alot. Eric made an extra effort to have the Islamic center included for me. I got to pray at one of the biggest mosques in Kigali, the Gadafi mosque with such a rich history. That was truly special. Another special stop was mount Kigali. The lunch and coffee at Tamu tamu and Question coffee, respectively, was delicious. And the company was even better. Then the last stop which was the Genocide memorial museum. Now this was filled with so much emotion and sentiment and education. My heart was so full at the end of it. This tour was perfect. It made me fall inlove with Kigali, Rwanda and it’s people alike. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Kigali. Even Rwanda as a whole. It’s an absolute must! Thank you most kindly to Eric and Mzamiru and the entire team of Go Kigali tours as a whole. Keep doing the amazing job you are doing. You are great!

My husband and I were having our wedding in Kigali in June, and many of my family members and closest friends from abroad came to Rwanda for that. As we were very busy with the last minute wedding preparations, I had booked my family & friends (a group of 25 people) a full-day city tour with Go Kigali. In the morning, they were picked up from multiple locations and everything was on time and so well organised. Also, the prior communication with Go Kigali was smooth and timely. Everyone loved the tour and praised Desiree highly for making the day so fun and yet informative. Many also said that the lunch they had was the best food they had in Rwanda. For me and my husband, it was so lovely to know that our closest ones where in good hands. Can't really thank Go Kigali enough for this fantastic day and would totally recommend everyone to take the tour!

And, the tour guide, Eric, is amazing and knowledgeable. Very patient with answering all the questions. I loved the experience.

Our company wanted to do a retreat after attending a conference in Kigali. Go Kigali Tours worked with me to create a fantastic experience for our team and within our budget. We had an excellent experience, from the planning stages through to the execution and airport drop-offs. Our guide, Desiree Izere, was informative, attentive, and flexible when we asked to change plans. Our group included world-traveled journalists and Desiree was able to answer questions and give us in-depth information. Our tour highlights were the milk bar during the Kigali City Tour, the gorgeous and serene Ruzizi Tented Lodge, Akagera National Park, and visiting the mountain gorillas. Thank you Go Kigali Tours – highly recommend.

My wife and I did the Full day Kigali City tour with Go Kigali tours with Desiree. It was excellent! She was informative, fun and told us fascinating stories about her city. We were able to cover a lot of ground in just one day, something that would have been very hard to do on our own.

👍👍 If you want to experience German dishes you can buy it in their small shop and cook it for yourself, or you have a seat at the nice place beside and enjoy served meals in the restaurant, like Fleischkäse or Schnitzel.
