What
a
racket!!
We
quarantined
here
as
it
was
near
our
apartment
in
Kigali.
The
covid
results
were
out
early
the
next
morning
(12hrs
later)
and
after
breakfast
we
started
receiving
emails
to
corral
us
out
of
the
room
despite
paying
for
24
hours
and
3
meals
as
per
the
RBC
website.
I
was
in
the
middle
of
some
online
work
meetings
but
managed
to
find
a
window
in
which
to
leave,
but
would
have
preferred
to
stay
and
complete
the
meetings
in
their
entirety
without
lugging
suitcases
around
the
neighbourhood
in
between
sessions.
We
were
made
curdled
tea
(see
photo),
my
wife
and
2
sons
slipped
in
the
bath
as
there
was
no
slip
mats,
and
there
are
no
shower
curtains
making
the
floor
another
safety
hazard
after
showering.
The
fixtures
are
poor:
the
table
in
the
room
dangerous
teeters
when
unevenly
loaded,
and
the
towel
rack
clanged
to
the
floor
when
we
removed
a
towel.
Then
the
final
con:
We
had
asked
the
lady
at
reception
to
book
a
Yego
taxi.
We
asked
for
the
taxi
code
which
allows
the
journey
to
be
metered.
She
said
she
did
not
have
a
code,
but
that
she
has
called
9191
which
is
the
number
for
the
main
taxi
company
in
Kigali.
When
the
taxi
arrived
we
saw
that
it
was
the
same
driver
who
had
picked
us
up
from
the
airport
the
day
before.
For
the
privilege
of
being
driven
400
m
from
the
hotel
to
our
apartment,
we
were
charged
RFr.5000.
Do
not
stay
here
if
you
respect
your
dignity,
money
and
safety.
Never
again
