Kigali is that City. I had an overall exceptional experience at Kigali International Airport. This month, November I recently had the pleasure of arriving at Kigali International Airport during my trip to Rwanda, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The airport's services, and overall atmosphere contributed significantly to a smooth and enjoyable journey. - Efficient Check-In Process: The check-in process was incredibly efficient. The staff were courteous, attentive, and ensured that the process was quick and hassle-free. - Quick, Modern and Clean Facilities: The airport boasts modern and well-maintained facilities. From the spacious and comfortable waiting area to the clean and well-equipped restrooms, every aspect reflected a commitment to maintaining high standards here. 3. Impressive Security Measures: Security procedures were thorough yet conducted with speed and efficiency. The presence of security personnel was reassuring, contributing to an overall sense of safety and order. I also saw how intentional they were about the security checkin when we were departing the country going out of Kigali. - Shopping Paradise: The duty-free shopping area is a true delight for travelers, from the made in Kigali chocolates , to different diverse range of shops offering local crafts, international brands, and duty-free goods made the waiting time enjoyable. - Free Wi-Fi: Well, I’m Nigerian and I know there isn’t any free WiFi at my airport, but the availability of free and high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the airport was a pleasant surprise. It allowed me to stay connected. - Friendly and Helpful Staff: The airport staff deserves special mention for their friendliness and willingness to assist. Whether providing directions, offering information, or helping with luggage, their commitment to customer service was evident. Although I found out my box was broken, but they agreed I shared my displeasure via email and promised to look into it. In conclusion, Kigali International Airport exceeded my expectations in every aspect. It's a shining example of a well-managed and passenger-friendly airport in Africa. I highly recommend it to fellow travelers, and I'm confident it will continue to leave a positive impression on visitors to Rwanda. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a remarkable travel experience! Welldonee Rwanda!!!

I am still amazed as to how small this airport is but very very very efficient. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. I have only connected with this airline and the waiting area is very clean. You could eat from the floor. The bathrooms are clean and they have super efficient and fast Wifi. The coffee shop offers the best coffee. There is a pretty bookstore with ornaments and rare to find African literature. They could improve in the duty free aspect of the airport. But above this is one of the best airlines and airport service in Africa.

I like how clean and functional it is. While it's not a big airport, it serves its purpose well. From gate, the security were very keen on their job to try not allow anything illegal in. The facilities are modern. The agents at check-in desk should try to be faster though.

The main entry point to Rwanda, Kigali International Airport is a relatively small airport but since there are not many flights in and out of Kigali, it serves the purpose well, and you don't feel the place overcrowded. In the Terminal after check, unfortunately, there are no Cafés or restaurents. The place, just like Kigali, is kept very clean.

Nice and organised environment, staff are neat and polite. The rest rooms are well equipped with a clean shower room and separately designated baby diaper changing room;this is quite thoughtful. They are covid-19 compliant and thorough in their checks but patient. Not understanding the Rwandan accent didnt stop good flow of communications. Let me use this opportunity to review the RwandAir. The flight was quite enjoyable, the flight attendants were courteous and the aircraft was sound with smooth take off and good landing. The food served was also of very good quality and diverse. Edit: This is a 5 star airline

Tiny little airport with 3 departure gates. Easiest immigration, friendliest airport authority people. Good shops for beverages and I bought an African olive wood center piece bowl from a shop just after the final security screening. One of the chilled airport I have ever passed thru. They have one cafe before and after the immigration and no smoke room except you have lounge ticket which is $30. So if you want to smoke before flights plz do before the security.

The airport isn't that much busy but Staff are super kind. They pass now and then to ask for your destination just in case you don't miss your flight. Glad to see RwandAir excelling 🫡

It is a small international airport with enough facilities to handle Kigali's present traffic. The airport staff members were kind and there to assist you at all times. However, due to the restricted number of boarding card issue counters and immigration desks, you should be at the airport about three hours before your trip if you have a departing flight. Please refrain from bringing plastic as it will prevent you from entering or exiting the airport. At the airport, there is a good restaurant, a money exchange station, and a duty-free shop. A good amount of seating arranges are available so you may spend a good time at the airport.

Couldn't get out the airport to sleep in a hotel while to connect because of PCR issues. As usual Rwanda does things differently to the rest of the world. But the business lounge was value for money...no beds but you can shower and eat.

Friendly staff and cleanliness make this airport a pleasant place while travelling. We‘ve only arrived here however everything has been convenient. We applied for our East Africa Tourist Visa beforehand and just got it at the immigration desk (make sure to pay in Rwandan Franc not US Dollar while applying so you can save some money). People are welcoming you at this airport. Toilets were clean as well. Finally the airport transfer were smooth as well. If you don’t have that pre-arranged - of course no worries - there are people happy to drive you to your destination. Enjoy and have fun.

The worst International airport I've ever had the displeasure of arriving at. No AC working in arrival area. Not a single restaurant to have a meal at during a long layover. The ground staff are the most lazy people I've ever seen in the workplace....and had to pay £10 in hard cash in order to access the teeny weeny smoking hotbox. It's not a smoking area...it's a 2x1 hotbox....AND the man on duty put the cash in his pocket. Sitting at Gate 1 and looking at an approx 2m long puddle of water with the ceiling panel dripping water consistently. I feel like I've landed in an alternate reality. Oh my god. Get me out of here. I will avoid this flight path at all costs in future.

It’s not bad at all. Their attendants are very nice and ready to help always. You need to have some dollars or Mastercard with you in order to shop in there. I forgot to say they have showers in case you need to take your bath just ensure you’re with your towel, brush and toothpaste

This place is calm even on the landing of a plane! I loved it mostly due to the view outside and to the best of information I have, the same is inside! The security is high at this place and the place has got many CCTV cameras, all to ensure safety of passengers. Another reason to love this airport is its cleanliness and the hospitality of the workers. Everything is timed such that everyone's schedule is kept clean. I am looking forward to updating this, the time I'll reach the plane by hand!

Kigali International Airport, formerly known as Kanombe International Airport, is the primary airport serving Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Currently, there is an ongoing project to build another mega-airport in Bugesera District, Eastern Province, which will be the biggest and the main air gateway for all destinations in the country, in addition to serving as a transit airport for Goma and Bukavu in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The airport is located in the suburb of Kanombe Sector, at the eastern edge of Kigali, approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi), by road, east of the central business district of the city of Kigali. There are 3 airlines based in Kigali. Akagera Aviation, a Rwandan heli-company, Tempus Jet an American airline providing charter flights and Nexus Aero, a Saudi VIP airline. During the Rwandan Civil War, Kigali airport was a major strategic point. Since Rwanda is a landlocked nation, this represented the only easy way in and out of the country. The airport had two runways, but after the Arusha Accords, one runway was closed down after a request from the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF). Later in April 1994, President Habyarimana's plane was shot down. It is disputed whether the RPF or the Rwandan Defence Forces (FAR) shot down the plane. This event triggered a renewal of the civil war and the beginning of the Rwandan genocide.

Talking of infrastructure, deligency and attention to all arrivals, therly are top-notch. But departing from Rwanda🇷🇼 to Nigeria 🇳🇬 was a hell of nightmare with no regard Nigerians. I had an encounter with the Rwandan Eithopia Airline attendance about COVID-19 test payment in Nigeria and at the long run, later said he will frame for fraud and what I didn't do and no one will question him. Which I found this absorb and disrespectful as citizen of Nigeria. Forgetting the reason why they are getting paid is we the Tourist.

Very secure, very small, free Wi-Fi. There are just two(?) gates and absolutely no shops after security. Pleasant staff moving at a leisurely pace lol. Arriving two hours before our departing flight was the right amount of time. Okay, uninspiring airport. Hope you don't have a long layover in here! 🇷🇼

Nice small airport so everything is close by and smooth. If you have a Rwandan ID you can use the automatic machines at customs instead of cueing. Check in normally is a breeze as you can see in the pictures there are many counters and not too many passengers. Parking is a bit of a maze to navigate particularly if you are directed to gate 2 for security

A good international airport with top notch facilities like good staff services and free Wi-Fi.. Coming in from air… There was no clear visibility to land and Rwanda air… Pilot informed us properly, hovered a bit then went to land in another airport… Good service… coming from Africa.. commendable

Airport is good, it has only five gates for boarding and generally boarding is done from gate 1 and 2. It is ok if you reach two hours prior to your flight.

A beautiful airport with welcoming staff. It has a colorful runway with unconventional light colors. You’ll appreciate the beauty at night. Their immigration police uniform are beautiful and have a good number of female staff.
