After years of neglecting my oral health I was very nervous about what procedures may be required to help get my mouth looking and feeling healthy again. However, I've been very pleasantly surprised by my experience of the Slateford Dental Practice, and I would highly recommend visiting them. Not only have all of my visits been completely pain-free, the staff are all very friendly and professional. They're clearly highly experienced, and offer practical advice for their patients without coming across as condescending. Slateford dental care is one stop for me and my family needs.Starting with the ladies in the reception ,they are always willing to do their best to find you an appointment and accommodate your needs.They are always so kind and approachable. Our family dentist is Kerry.Words cannot really describe her knowledge of her field, professionalism and above all her own way of approaching and communicating what it has to be done in the simplest way.I totally recommend this centre if you want a high standard dental care. The reception staff are lovely and really accommodating-especially when you arrive a day early for your check up. 🤣They make me feel as relaxed as you possibly can be. Dawn my dentist and Alison my hygienist are both very good at putting me at ease and I feel like I can trust them. I have been going there for nearly 14 years and would highly recommend them.

Stephen Harrison is a great dentist! He always talks you through what he is doing and keeps you calm throughout uncomfortable procedures. He had never hurt me and I totally trust him as my dentist. Would highly recommend him and the practice who are always friendly and professional.

Stephen Harrison is a superb dentist and is always courteous, professional and patient ensuring he resolves any issues whilst always making me feel at ease. My daughter is 17 years old and has also been a patient since she was a small child, although possibly Stephen would rather forget the time she gave him a karate chop when we bumped into him in our local shop after he had given her a jag to remove a wobbly baby tooth! He is truly person centred, consistently explains what he is doing and why and always makes me feel at ease. I have been well looked after by dental hygienists, Alison and Claire too. Honestly the best dental surgery and dentist I have ever been to, and I've been to quite a few. I was really nervous and frightened, but since first going to Stephen Harrison about 20 years ago, I have never looked back. He really is the most gentle and caring man. I never feel any pain, and he talks me through everything he does, He really is a credit to the dental profession, as well as the surgery, Special mention to receptionist Brenda, too, who is so lovely and welcoming.

My husband, Justin, arrived in Scotland from Australia on a UK Partner Visa a little over six weeks ago and attended two dental clinics before calling in at the Slateford Dental Practice. Third time lucky you could say because he claims that the vibe at Slateford was much friendlier and far more welcoming than at the other two. Further, the Slateford receptionist was able to book him to see a dentist within five days, compared to two months at one of the other practices. The professionalism at the front desk was also evident in the treatment room. During his first appointment, Justin was extremely impressed with Dr Chris Logan's attention to detail and his capacity to explain what was happening with his teeth (which was quite a lot!!). After his consult with Chris, Justin inquired at the front desk whether the practice could accommodate our two girls, aged seven and four and a half. He left comfortable in the knowledge that not only did he have a comprehensive treatment plan for his teeth but also that our girls are going to be looked after by a very impressive dentist and an excellent dental practice.

I have been with Slateford Dental Care for a couple of years and their knowledge and expertise is superior and makes for a wonderful experience every time! Nicola was fantastic today at my hygienist appointment and offered lots of helpful advice too. Highly recommend them!

Used the practice following a recommandation from a friend during my 3 years in Scotland. The service was well priced, professional and friendly. They accommodated quick check ups within short time frames and provided great long term advice. I would highly recommend this dental service.

I had a wonderful experience at this dental practice. In every way, they obliged with compassion at a time when I needed emergency care. I was on an extended journey overseas and in Edinburgh for only two days. They fitted me in promptly on the first day and waived the deposit fee my impecunious daughter was asked to pay before I arrived in the country. The care itself was exceptional. A filling had broken away from my far lower left molar. My dentist, Kerrie, talked me through the possible treatments while taking the requisite X-rays. She primed me for a range of possibilities, although in the end it was possible to get the best outcome: a brand new permanent/composite filling. I was managed the whole time; when the anaesthetic caused me to tremble the nurse provided glucose water and another glass of plain water for my lowered blood pressure. Both nurse and dentist waited patiently for me to calm down before going ahead. The whole experience was patient, reassuring and yet efficient, with an obvious emphasis on my comfort, and the charge in the end, was the minimum possible. The whole experience was astonishingly positive. I could not recommend this practice and these practitioners more highly.

I have had less than desirable experiences with my previous dental practices so to find Chris and the team is a huge relief. He is a thorough and diligent dentist who always explains what is necessary to be done. His understanding and kind and confident manner makes you feel like you are in good hands. All the staff are friendly & approachable.

I have moved a lot and had many dentists over time, Stephen is without doubt the most professional and gentle dentist I have ever experienced. He explains everything and takes the trauma out of dental procedures. I have no hesitation in recommending the practice.

I have been at patient at Slateford Dental Care for many years and have always been happy with my dentist Robert King and Martine Senior Dental nurse. They are both very caring, friendly, professional and listen to any concerns I have beforehand and always meet my needs, a great team.. I am anxious a lot of the time when I go to the dentist and they both have always been aware of this and make a real effort to put me at ease. Thank you both. I got an emergency appointment same day I rang this week and treatment I needed 2 days later. The work on my tooth was fantastic. All the staff are lovely a really friendly welcome at the reception area with the ladies when you arrive . It’s such a fantastic practice and always on hand to get their patients emergency appointments when they need one and that has always been reassuring to me. Would highly recommend them to anyone . Alison is also my dental hygienist and I have always been happy with standard of work for scale and polish and great advice on after care. Lovely gentle mannerism with patients too.

Hygienist appointment Normally I avoid these appointments because I'm very afraid of them, But Alison and her dental nurse were so lovely! My teeth feel brand new, there wasn't as much scraping on my teeth as I thought, They also gave me advice on how to brush and floss properly. 100% recommend, Thank you

I have been a patient with this practice for around 20 years. Due to my own health I did not attend or take care of my teeth for a long time. Stephen got me in on a quiet Saturday morning, he is such a kind and caring guy he put my mind at ease I then made and attended appointments and I now have great teeth again! A new composite bonding technique was used and what a job Stephen did, my teeth look amazing and so natural. The hygienists and reception staff are lovely too. Overall a highly recommended Dental Practice.
