I
am
a
sixty
something
woman
who
suffered
a
compound
fracture
of
my
non-dominant
wrist
from
a
bike
fall.
My
injury
entailed
two
surgeries:
first
to
set,
clean
and
close
the
wound
and
a
week
later
surgical
implantation
of
a
plate
and
several
screws
to
align,
as
best
as
possible,
the
bones.
Occupational
therapy
with
Lori
Risner
began
two
days
after
the
surgery
and
continued
for
the
next
four
plus
months.
I
cannot
overstate
Lori's
competence,
compassion
and
encouragement.
Six
months
post-accident
I
am
back
playing
tennis,
attending
HIIT
and
yoga
classes
and
routinely
riding
an
exercise
bike.
Lori's
attention
to
detail,
compassionate
listening,
interaction
with
my
surgeon
and
extensive
knowledge
of
wrist
injuries
were
all
key
to
my
success.
Her
care
was
not
"cookie
cutter"
but
geared
toward
what
I
could
do
and
wanted
to
do
in
the
future.
I
especially
appreciated
her
candor
in
recommending
and
not
recommending
other
potential
therapies
and
surgeries.
Her
"no-nonsense"
advice
was
needed
and
welcomed.
She
is
the
consummate
professional
and
I
have
already
recommended
her
and
will
continue
to
recommend
her.
I
am
very
blessed
to
have
been
the
beneficiary
of
Lori's
care.
In
addition,
everyone
at
Barrington
Athletico
was
consistently
welcoming,
encouraging
and
kind
making
attendance
at
my
OT
sessions
actually
something
to
look
forward
to!
Thanks
Lori
and
the
entire
staff
at
Barrington
Athletico
for
helping
me
maneuver
through
this
"bump"
in
life!
