I have bought and sold about a dozen pieces through him in the last few years. He is incredibly knowledgeable and goes above and beyond for his clients. I have been searching for a new Vacheron Constantin for a while and they are overpriced and then I referred to Rick Scumaci at Burdeens and he was great to work with and very responsive and knowledgeable and had been on top of it from the 1st time we spoke until yesterday when my timepiece was delivered. I walked into Burdeen's for my first time yesterday afternoon... and it is safe to say it will not be my last. Prior to my visit, I spoke with Traci Slater over the phone about the possibility of coming in to get new batteries and some links adjusted for a few watches that I have. She warmly welcomed me to stop by and I did the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I have always been a firm believer in doing the little things right. It shows that not only are people experts in their field but they also genuinely care about your experience. Traci and the staff here at Burdeen's did all of the little things right and more for a first time customer (me). Everything that I brought to the store was fixed / adjusted the same day. I was constantly engaged with the staff and I had plenty of selection to browse. As I was trying everything on, the watchmaker who worked on my pieces came out to make sure that everything was sized appropriately. I’m new to the world of watch collecting. I became very interested in Jaeger-LeCoultre and wanted to see the collection offerings in person. I searched online for a JLC dealer and came across Burdeen’s Jewelry in Buffalo Grove. I sent a late night email inquiry through their site and within an hour Roberto from Burdeen’s let me know they had the watch I wanted to see and invited me to come in the next day. Within 24 hours I arrived at the store it was such a nice visit. Very welcoming staff and after having a good conversation with Evan, another very friendly and knowledgeable representative, Roberto and I met. He is a real gem (pun intended) at Burdeen’s Jewelry. He was so easy to work with. He was very patient with me and educated me on the history of different manufacturers and the inner workings of the watches themselves. He has been in the watch business for over 10 years and it shows. A few days later I eventually decided to purchase the JLC Ultra Thin Moon Phase and I could not be happier with the entire process. I came back again to consider JLC Reverso watches and short story I bought two more! He loves the world of watches and clients benefit from his service and expertise. It’s a family owned business and Matt Burdeen was extremely gracious and even gave me nice gift to take care of my watches. I’m so glad I found Burdeen’s and Roberto. You will too!

I have never seen in my 55 years a better selection of new and quality pre owned watches in two locations in my life. Maybe I’m too sheltered but it’s the truth. I love everything Horology. I think I know a lot but I really don’t. The professionals that make up the Burdeen’s’s family of sales people are the best in the business. I think whether you are buying a $250,000 time piece or like me, a simple few thousand dollars watch you are treated exactly the same! A month ago Ashley at the beautiful downtown Michigan Avenue boutique took the best care of me. I ended up buying a very special, limited edition 60th Grand Seiko! Ashley taught me that quartz watches are used by all of the worlds leading brands! I made some silly false assumptions about quartz. If you’re in the city and you need a brand new timepiece or an amazing assortment of preowned go to Burdeens on Michigan Ave and ask for Ashley. Just yesterday I thought I would leave work early and go take a look at the Buffalo Grove store. I almost fell over when I saw what existed there. I can tell you the best of the best brands new as well as the best of the best brands preowned from a few thousand dollars and less all the way up to the kind of numbers I will never be able to afford. I can tell you the best of the best brands new and the best of the best brands preowned are there. A very kind woman named Irina assisted me. She asked me if I wanted any help and I said sure why not I really didn’t have any intentions of buying, but they did such a great job with the first grand Seiko, I wanted to see more! She showed me another preowned grand Seiko spring drive that retails for almost double what I ended up paying!!I also received with both purchases the original box and papers and Burdeen’s’s gave me a one-year warranty on each preowned watch! I have been telling everyone about my experiences and how pleased I am. Evan is the sales manager. He made sure that my experience at both stores was the best it could possibly be and it’s a pleasure seeing him when you go there. He makes you feel right at home and have just an amazing amount of knowledge that I can learn from every time I go. I Wish I could buy more Grand Seikos...

Michelle was honest, made the effort to show the watch on a wrist that was comparable, was transparent disclosing it’s condition, and made our negotiation a win/win. It was an unusual Jaeger LeCoultre reference and difficult to determine value, but Michelle did a first-rate job. Highly recommended.
