A great museum with well-preserved displays portraying the rich history of Kimberley since before colonial occupation and the discovery of diamonds in the area. Well worth a visit when in the area.

We enjoyed taking a walk through history. The Word War exhibition was especially educational. The museum is a gem when it comes to the history of Kimberley and the Northern Cape. There is some of the exhibitions that needs attention though.

This museum has a wide collection of our South African history and it shows the huge and often forgotten significance of the city of Kimberly. Some of the exhibits are just stunning and give you a window into the past . All of this is set in a lovely house with its own story to tell and how the building itself has been use for various purposes over the decades .

This is a wonderful Museum Rich in history , it has a very dedicated Curator and staff who are willing to help in any way. The quality of all of the exhibits are very good amd very well laid out. The place is much bigger once you are inside and if you are a history and war enthusiast you could easily be there for the better part of the day. The rates are very reasonable and they have an extremely old, beautiful and rare book collection which I spent some time just admiring .I will definately come here again .

The museum was very interesting but I'm very disappointed in the personnel. We arranged with them to open the Rudd house and waited 1.30 hours at the gate. When we called them they said the guy went home. The town have so.much potential and we would have love to see the Rudd and Dunluce house. We actually came to Kimberly just to do the ghost houses. Places are run down and it's so sad so see

The museum is very big,I honestly thought it was small, until I enter and the information you receive from animals, plants, politics, religion and apartheid is incomparable to any other museum I visited. I really enjoyed visiting the place .Shout out to Kutlwano...He was very informative and helpful in the museum.thank you

No tour was offered when we visited. I think its overpriced for what you received. Don't be in a rush when you visit. Lots to see and read. Very informative. I enjoyed the visit

A really interesting and insightful visit. A great overview of the history of our country and Kimberly! Very impressed!

Very interesting displays. The building itself is interesting but needs a lot of maintenance. Outside balconies are visibly crumbling. More deterioration in the roof is inevitable. Needs speedy action before irreversible damage is incurred

Super place. Lot of history laid out in easy to digest exhibits. Need plenty of time to take it all in. Worth making several visits. R30 for adults.

Lovely surroundings-'another time'. Actually would like to add that a couple of years back on my very first visit I was very taken with the whole inner entirety -Cecil John Rhodes bedroom..., the fact it was used as a safehouse during the siege, a sanatorium also...amongst many other interesting artifacts. What a wonderful historical reminder.Kimberley itself has a fascinating history.Mc Gregor Museum, amongst many other historical buildings in Kimberley SA, is a must to visit for travellers.

It is very sad that this historic building is not properly maintained and some of the the exibits also needs attention. Overall very informative but there is room for improvement.

A visit to Kimberley is not complete unless you stop at the McGregor museum. It's like a walk-in encyclopedia. It is well maintained and Sunet and the team is doing a great job. Thank you and well done.

This museum exhibit a lot of important information, the way the exhibition is curated is thought through and it makes sense. I think the inclusion of scan the qr code to get information about each exhibit is stunning. It was also great to have a guide, Prof Morris to inform us about the different exhibits.
