Making reservation by telephone and email was a breeze. Great welcome by staff on arrival and checking in was painless. Room is well appointed with all the mod coms. Bed was extremely conformable ( handy when you are 1.9 meters and 115kgs!) And I could fit in the shower with ease with room to spare! The centuries old building oozes oldworld charm and highlights an import period in 20th Century SA history. The food will not disappoint!

Very old world, historic venue - well worth a good look around if you go there. Limited, but tasty, menu. Parking across street from main entrance.

This place should be a museum and not a hotel. I don't know how they got the 4 star rating, but the place is just old and unattractive. The carpet stinks, and why so many carpets in the hotel anyway? I suffer from sinuses, and honestly, I couldn't spend the night in the hotel even if I wanted to. I had a headache by the time we left the hotel because of the carpet.

This place has so much history and character, which is why we chose to stay there. However some of the staff are very unfriendly and have no clue what's going on. There was so many things wrong for a supposed 4 star boutique hotel. The rooms while appearing to be clean realy need a huge deep clean. Blind on the window was broken and window wouldn't close properly. Towels were dirty (these were changed quickly). Bedding in one room was frayed and old with holes in the sheets. Rooms not made up while we were out for the day (this was not only our 2 rooms but at least another 2 near ours). The bathroom amenities are very basic for a 4 star rated hotel, 2 little rounds of soap and 2 small body lotions, no shampoo or conditioner. There was also no bottled water in the rooms upon arrival. There was also various maintenance issues. The hotel is seriously understaffed. On the night we stayed there was one young gentleman who had to work the bar and do service in the restaurant practically on his own. It was clear that he lacked some training and clearly was not happy, but tried his best. The restaurant has a very limited menu, however the food was prepared very well and was very tasty. The wine list was quiet good and would cover most tastes, however not one of these were in stock. They did however have one or two good wines to choose from. Breakfast was a joke, you are requested to complete a from for your choices, as this supposedly helps the kitchen. Cornflakes, fruit and muesli arrived on time. Then one request hot breakfast arrived before we were even finished. Then the other breakfasts arrived one by one and were not very warm. The really sad thing is that we were the only 4 having breakfast at that time. Our issues and concerns were conveyed to management and they were obviously most apologetic and ensured that all the issues will be resolved on an urgent basis. I sincerely hope this is the case, as I have had a look at some past reviews and similar issues have been reported over a year ago.

Very disappointing, no bathroom mat, no drinking water in the room, TV remote not working, very very small menu, aircon not working in the restaurant and the staff made a huge noise in the kitchen! It sounded like a party in there, laughing and shouting! What happened to the standards at the club?

The neighborhood is a little bit dodgy located in the center of town, but the old, historic nature of the place makes it a must visit for a drink or dinner.

Didn't stay here cos of the issue of a small bed..you wouldn't allocate a tall man to a 3/4 or single bed, the location too was not ok for mw but if you are a fan of antique..this place is for you.

Wonderful historic furniture, paintings, photographs and trinkets displayed around the hotel and in the rooms. The bed was diabolical! Uncomfortable. There's a nightclub (or similar) nearby beating out ghastly music at top volume = no sleep. The Karoo lamb chops in the restaurant were probably about the best I've ever eaten. The bar / lounge closed while we were at dinner on the night Springboks played France!! We were bitterly disappointed not to be able to watch the game there with the 4 other guests who we befriended at dinner.

A heritage architectural gem in the heart of Kimberley, exuding the grandeur and history of the diamond era. From the excellent food and authentic, antique-sprinkled rooms and rich history on the walls and decor, you cannot find a nicer place to stay or have a private venue for your party.

It seems like an unlikely place to stay, but it is lovely, steeped in history with classical features true to the period. The courtyard is devine and a real hideway in the middle of a rater depressing town. The food is excellent and the ambience is to die for. The resident ghosts bid me a good nights rest and made me whish I spent more time to participate in the historical talk and tour of the venue. Iloved staying here and could just imagine writing a book while "taking tea" in the sunny, secluded courtyard.

Wonderful place soaked in history! Spacious room (no 1) with a balcony. Very comfortable bed, crisp, clean white linen. Had a lovely old school club dinner in the restaurant and fascinating conversation with Isak who has worked here for 30 years and has many stories to relate.

One of the highlights of our trip. We loved our stay at the Kimberly Club. Pierre and his staff went the extra mile - the ambience, service and food was excellent! You can’t help but be intrigued by all the history and we will definitely be back for a little longer next time - to soak it all in. What a treat.

Kept in pristine condition, the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend staying at the Kimberley Club. A truly excellent experience!!!
