Lenmed Kimberley is pathetic. Have a friend that needed urgent cardiologist attention. He was transferred from state hospital to Lenmed without medical aid. Lenmed and doctors refused to start with any treatment if patient can't put down R90k. So he was transferred back to state hospital. After being very critical today and this story came under my attention, I decided to put down the money on behalf of the family and get him back in good care. I contacted the hospital and spoke to a sister at the ICU ward to arrange payment and to have him transferred back from state hospital. Sister called me back and had the next 2 answers. 1. Our Cardiologist is on leave and we only have a doctor that help out from time to time with real emergencies and this is not a emergency. ( Seems that this Doctor have a build in Bluetooth diagnosis system ) 2. The doctor said she will not accept cash payment up front and he can only be admitted if he have a medical aid. ( Redicilous, the previous day they wanted R50k-R90k up front, now it is not good enough. Lenmed, sorry to say you should chose your personal and health care provides better and maybe look again at your Policies & Procedures and make sure the doctors know what they are allowed to do and not do. To the doctor that gave me this answer via the sister. BELIEVE me, you will hear from the Health Counsel, I promise you I would not leave it here and if anything have to happen with my friend, a father, hasband a family member because of you disobeing the Oath you signed becoming a doctor. You will regret 26/02/2022.

I don't know where to start. I had my C-section a week ago at Lenmed Royal Hospital (on the 9th of June 2022). My experience was absolutely wonderful. All the nurses that were on duty from Thursday morning up until the Friday morning were amazing. I can't remember all their names, but nurses Sarah Marutla, Boitumelo, sister Mkuna, Claudine, and Sister De Vos were some of the many angels that made me and my baby feel so comfortable and well taken care of. Even my catheter was inserted with such ease, which was something that I feared due to a bad experience I had with that at a different hospital 2 years ago. Dr. Lizl Brits was phenomenal as a gynecologist, and Dr Kenny was such a great anesthetist, explaining the whole process so clearly and keeping such a good eye on me during my C-section. I am humbled by the way I was treated overall, and I just want to say thank you for your service and love!

Unfortunately have to agree that the service are indeed poor very very poor. Lenmed medical staff has no urgency and need to improve their communication skills. We have been sitting at emergency services since 16h40 and it is 19h30 and still not attended too. Lenmed is worse than a Public Hospital.

The main sister in charge on the day of my admission, was soo rude, frustrated with the patient, and complaining of the staff to me. I was shocked,as this was not my first visit here. She was totally frustrated, hurt my arm,to find a vein,to put up a drip I was there almost 6 months ago,and is dreading to come back for my follow up of a range of tests for my condition.😰😞😞😓I pleaded if I can go to Gariep, but my Dr is at Lenmed, next best is Bloemfontein. I hope that the medical staff can learn from the cleaning staff, security and kitchen staff and doctors to treat patients with respect and dignity. I pressed my button for assistance as my drip leaked, then it did not run, then my hand was so swollen they hand to remove it.and put the drip inon otherhand It was so painful I still have blue marks . If I'm treated like this again I will pack my bags and leave...!!!someone has to call these professionals to order. They don't know us,and where we come from, and our families Really I hope this will be addressed on the right platform. Very dissatisfied and disappointed 😞

Oh where to begin!!!Lenmed Royal Hospital staff in Casualty section does not understand how emotional draining seeing your loved one not well. Whilst waiting in waiting area, no one bothers to inform u what is going on with the person u brought in or at least an update. U expected to wait for gruesome hours looking at them moving up and down. Guys learn to COMMUNICATE with relatives waiting for an update in the waiting lobby.. that's the least u could do. Service is pathetic for me.

Had a C-section here and recovered in the maternity ward. Loving and caring staff looked after me during my stay. Staff seems happy to work here which is a positive for the work culture. Staff trained well and very proffessional

Admitions was time consuming and the nurse in charge of getting me booked in and preped for my cesarean section kept telling me she was tired and forgetful as she was hungry. My cesarean went fantastic with the help of a great doctor as well as anesthesiologists. My stay at Lenmed was adequate with little advice give on how to help my baby over all. When asking for help with breast feeding nurses will tell you why you are struggling without helping to find q solution. On my third and final day there was finaly a nurse willing to take the time to explain the breastfeeding to me. When discharged I was excited to go home with baba. When I got to the front to go the nurse told me she was needing to tell me things but i clearly dont want to know. I expressed that she could educate us but excitement to leave a hospital is to be expected. She flew over important post-op care like a bat out of hell. The made me pre sign 'education received forms' and when i did an enquiry the response was 'ill tell you mos now'. This is poor Lenmed. Do better please. Sincerely the one at home doing my own research since you have a lack of professional nursing staff in maternity. This may not be true for all the nurses i that ward but definitely for the main nurse that handled my admittance and discharge. Ps. Contact me if you even care to rectify

After much sceptism due to previous experiences I must say there is a big improvement... Our terminally ill sister was admitted last week Sunday to the surgical ward. She was under Dr Bhyat and Dr Blanco. She passed away on Tuesday 16/05/2023. We would like to thank the entire team for going out of their way to make her comfortable and to comfort us as a family too. A special thank you to sister David's and sister Thage, Sister David's who was very instrumental in the whole process as she was with my sister and her journey throughout. The very special way and care shown will never go unnoticed. To the catering division who brought tea and coffee for us to the cleaners who did their job so diligently. A big big thank you to the entire team May you all be richly blessed. Regards Patel and Mookrey family

When my son was born his SATS was low and admitted to NICU. It was a very overwhelming experience for my wife and I, but Sr Alexander was so accommodating and showed a lot of compassion towards us. We felt at peace with her on duty, leaving our new born son in her capable hands. Thank you to Sr Alexander for taking such good care of our son and for all the regular updates on his progress. She really went the extra mile. We really appreciate all she has done for our son! From the Hanekam family.

Lenmed Kimberley, Service is very bad, the nurses do not care about patient. When I got there, I was only attended to after 2hrs. The nurses made me wait in the waiting room as there was no beds, when a bed finally became available, the nurse communicated with me using her eyes only. I had to take myself there, though I was in a none pleasant condition. My body was swollen and had hives, I had to carry my bags myself along with the drip, nurses didn’t attend to me, that time I’m paying lots of money… I wound recommend anyone to go there, I’d rather go stand a long queue at the clinic. I was treated like I went to beg for free assistance

I came into the emergency section. After being admitted, I informed the nurse that I was hungry. They brought me a cheese sandwich to which I informed them that I was lactose intolerant. They said they were going to get me a new sandwich with just butter. I have been waiting for the 2 slices of bread from 01:25 to now at 08:30 and I am still waiting and the 2 slices are not coming. I’m breathing on oxygen on an empty stomach for hours now. The doctor treating me is great, no doubt and the lady who booked me was great; but everything else is unacceptable. I now have to order food so I can be on the oxygen mask.

The young man at the cafeteria is not very client orientated, I realize the cafeteria may be a private company but it's on the Lenmed premises and affects the overall image of the hospital, i asked about their menu and he grabbed the menu and slapped it in front of me and quickly turned around to serve the other ladies of his own race, taking his time to answer their questions, I had to order from Mr delivery due to the sheer mistreatment. Pathetic.

From being in hospital over 20 times in the past 5 years, and in hospitals all over the country, i would highly appraise the staff, dr's, food and general enviroment at Lenmed Royal hospital in Kimberley. I went to Casualty first and then to the Medical ward for 3 days. The staff and Dr's were all super caring, on top of their game, quick to assist and i did not lack any support or assistance with anything. The food was also great and also a big thumbs up to the Dolce Restaurant on the premises Thanks Everyone!

Horrible service ! From the Admissions, no Telephone Etiquette as the lady on duty Lesli talks to other whilst in phone. Had to order food to deliver to my mother as the Hospital Kitchen served oily food to a diabetic patient. The security recieved the takeaway at 15:00 and made no attempt to ask or arrange it to be sent to ward. Instead they sat with food till 16:20 . Until I called for the 5th time and had to listen to the ladies other conversation while I'm on the line. Such Horrible and Incompetent staff.

This placed saved my dad's life, man was in the covid ward last year for two months. Once he was in recovery he told me that the staff was top notch, he even thought he was in joburg (some nurses spike Zulu) until I told him that we were in Kimberley. I'm truly grateful

Service very poor, my Mother is admitted with heart issues the nurses take their own time to attend to her needs. I am so worried, just trusting God for my Mommy super natural healing. To think the hospital is just 4 years old it's pathetic service for a private hospital

My son was admitted in the hospital after a vehicle accident. I visited him today. The security are very strict but everyone was friendly and helpfull. The staff was helpfull and friendly. I would say that this is a good hospital according to my personal experience.

I truly hope nobody has a loved one go to Lenmed ER. The ER patient with a life threatening condition instructed to go find own file before they willing to help them. This 1 hour 30 minutes after payment was made already did they start to help the patient. Thanks for the most expensive drip and lack luster medical attention.

On 9 March around 17h00,I rushed my 5 year old to the emergency room.I was a bit unsure what to expect after all the bad reviews I've seen. To my surprise, everyone was super helpful and friendly. From the nurses on duty,to the lady from pathcare to the doctors. Thank you for the great service and for making my boy comfortable. Unfortunately I did not take any names to thank them personally.
