A must-see on your tour of Americaโ€™s sites. Taller than Niagara Falls, Shoshone is as breathtaking as it is beautiful. The powerful water streams are stunning to view, hear, and feel. The falls are thunderously loud. There is plenty of vehicle parking, with gentle green hills for children to play in or dogs to catch an exercise break. A small snack shop provides sundries. Tons of information about Shoshone is posted throughout. Take a guided or self-guided tour, up to you. There are trails that extend into the Canyon Rim if youโ€™re feeling athletic, or simply want a different vantage point of the falls. I love visiting - we usually catch a rainbow in the mist ๐ŸŒˆ

Shoshone Falls Park is a beautifully maintained park along the Snake River in Idaho. The park has sweeping views of the Snake River Gorge and Shoshone Falls. The falls were particularly impressive when we were there because of recent rains. The park has loads of parking spots, loads of green grass with shade trees and picnic tables. There is an easy walk on pavement to see the Snake River Gorge and Shoshone Falls. There are plenty of restrooms as well. Do yourself a favor and give Shoshone Falls Park and Shoshone Falls a twirl, you will not be disappointed! If you find my review helpful, please give me a thumbs-up ๐Ÿ‘ Thank you!

Shoshone Falls was quite the surprise for me! We were in town visiting some friends, so we decided to go check out the falls along the way. This is one of the only places I have ever seen a double rainbow in all my years of being in nature so that was a very nice surprise to see! The falls can get a little busy, but they weren't bad moving around and taking pictures. There are a number of birds that fly down near the falls as well so you can get some great shots with the double rainbow going over the falls. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Shoshone falls park is absolutely worth the drive, worth the stop!! It is a gorgeous view, a beautiful grounds for having a picnic lunch, has restrooms to use, dog friendly, has a gift shop, and you can order lunch, snacks & drinks! The gal working the gift shop was SO nice! She was friendly, efficient, and down to earth. The view of the falls is spectacular, and we even made some new friends! Overall, I highly recommend stopping her for a while to visit and take in the beautiful views!

A complete surprise in the canyon. We stayed in Twin Falls, ID we were talking to some locals about how nice the town was and they made the suggestion to go see the twin falls at Shoshone Falls Park. The next morning before we left town we went and we were so glad that we did! This is a beautiful place and if you're in the area, I highly recommend to visit. It was a five dollar per car entry fee, to drive into the canyon to go to the park, viewing area and lake entry and they have a pool there as well. We had Jolie Fleur so I could walk her in the beautiful green grass with many trees for shade. There were tables for families. Parking was good but with the amount of people coming into park, they could use more spots. The viewing areas were very well done. We were both amazed with the cleanliness of the park. Note, the drive into the canyon is narrow & winding so be prepared, but it is doable. What I have learned, take time to see the local beauty as you pass through a town or area. You'll be richer for it.

Just a really beautiful park with easy access to view the falls! Donโ€™t worry about hiking, the parking lot is right next to the viewing areas! We came in late June 2023 and the falls were looking amazing!

Early morning is a lovely time to visit. I arrived early enough that they hadn't opened the spillway and you can see a picture where the waterfall wasn't flowing. An hour later they had opened the dam and the waterfall was running in all it's non-spring glory. Spring time is amazing in comparison as the whole waterfall from side to side is cascading. There is a path for bicycling and walking toward the rim and along it. It's well worth the experience. The beautiful stream waterfall in my pictures is available at the head of that path and is a lovely place to sit and enjoy for a couple minutes

Beautiful, walkable park with multiple waterfalls resulting from the dam. Can be crowded at times as itโ€™s a popular spot. We got free admission because I am handicapped (and have a handicapped parking placard) which was a surprising perk! Dog friendly and lots of spots to sit or lean and take a break.

This park was so nice! So much shade, a nice little stream, some benches, and it's so big! There is a restroom and souvenirs and dogs are allowed on leash. There are walking paths and bike paths! So much fun! And the falls are gorgeous!!!

The falls are stunning! Beautiful long falls that are really fun to just sit and watch. Lots of birds flying in and around them as well makes it like something from a movie. You can hike to other amazing views of the falls as well and they provide you with a lot of history information to read. Great grounds for picnics as well. They have pull through spots for RVs and trailers and quite a few parking spaces for normal vehicles as well. The grounds are really well maintained and cleaned and lots of bathrooms.

Even though it was a dry when we came it was still stunning! I've seen amazing falls from South America, Hawaii, and Niagara and Shoshone holds its own! It's almost mind-boggling how this place just comes out of nowhere farm land. Nice town to stay in as well. We will come back when the falls are actually flowing but regardless it's a beautiful park! $5 entry fee is worth it.

Good swimming hole but the trails are sparse and not great for hiking. Looks like a popular place for rock climbing, though. Waterfall is nice for viewing but wish we were able to hike down to get closer.

I really like going to Shoshone Falls. There is just enough parking to keep people moving through the park and guides to direct you to whichever area has openings. People visiting have been courteous and only stand at the rails and lookouts long enough to take in the beauty and snap a few pictures. Restroom ๐Ÿšป are available and were clean and there is a snack shop for munchies. Definitely worth the trip when the falls are flowing well.

Really neat place! We have come here on long trips over 4 times. It's fun to see it flowing differently each time. It makes lots of mist and just looks amazing! You can walk around and get a couple of different views. They have nice grass areas. Family friendly. Pet friendly. Great place for picnics and awesome views! I wish the t-shirts were just a little less expensive but that's pretty normal. The entrance fee isn't terrible. It was pretty busy but we can spread out if we want.

This is a beautiful park with spectacular views. The little walk-up gift shop was unique because everything is behind the counter and they bring out things for you to see close up. The restrooms have flush toilets though the facilities are dated. The grounds are beautifully kept. There is a lot of shade in the tree-area. It's well worth a visit when the falls have a good flow year.

Unbelievable and spectacular place to come visit.. The falls are beautiful to watch and the sound of the water is a pleasure to listen to, to get in to the park there is a charge but it's pretty cheap compare to the large parks like Zion and Yellowstone, it's only $5, can't go wrong and well worth it.

Gorgeous rock formations and some very nice and easily accessible viewing platforms. The Snake River is very wide and looks so beautiful with its rich greenish color. Some of the rock formations are so white and look so pretty in contrast with the river. It is very relaxing to be there.

The waterfalls were impressive. It definitely earns the name of "Niagara of the West". It was $5 to park your car. There a a few overlooks to take photos of the falls, canyon, and river. There is a small gift shop and a number of benches and grassy areas to have a picnic. Overall it was a great place to visit when we passed through Twin Falls on our way to Yellowstone.

Plan about 1 hour visit. Cost $5/car. Nice falls. Bit of history. From here, don't miss Evel Knievel's 1974 Snake River jump site just a mile down the canyon.

5$ for a car. Wonderful sights! I can't get over the houses that are basically in the falls. Lots of information you could read. There's RV and Bus parking but the road to get down has some tight turns. There's a gift shop with a penny press! Enjoy your time here! :)

My family stopped here as we were passing the area. Super cool to see such a giant waterfall. I wish there was a way to get closer though. It feels so far away, I'd love to be able to get closer to be able to really feel how giant it is. There were quite a few people, but it was definitely worth the wait. Even from afar it was a really cool stop.

Shoshone Falls Park was a delightful experience. The falls were beautiful, the grass lush green, even in August. Well manicured areas to throw down a picnic. The road from the gate to the falls could use some work, yet that is understandable considering the terrain. Take your time around the corners and you shall be fine easy in , easy out. Ample parking and I do suggest that RVs and those pulling a trailer use the designated parking for such vehicles. Safety note, the signs that warn of danger are not a joke and I employ person's to heed them, as they are there for a reason The concession stand was well maintained and had great prices. Do not expect a Kobe burger flown in from Japan, it is just a burger. Thus saying the price is right. Enjoy the trip to and from and take a bit of time to look at the falls from different angles, provided in different areas. Shoshone Falls is definitely worth a visit and a bit of time to relax and enjoy the beauty that is our planet full of wonders.

We visited here twice in the past month, beautiful place for picnic . Unmatchable view Clean restrooms. A spot for snacks. Picnic tables all over. Weather is always pleasent. We missed the night lights which you can enjoy in June. I would say if you want to spend sometime here bring your own food and picnic stuff.

Beautiful! Amazing views! Raging waterfalls! A sight to see for sure! It's tucked away in an unassuming turnout. As you descend the winding road, they come into view, and you can't wait to see them up close. The history placards are very informative and interesting. There's a park to take a break and have lunch. Souvenir stand and restrooms clean and stocked. There is a fee to enter.

Captain Ahab of Ahab's Adventures is an avid waterfall hunter and this is one of note! We got a local recommendation to hit up the falls early because it is a popular destination in the area. Though only half of the entire expanse had water flowing this particular day, if was still a site to behold. It is compared to Niagara and in some ways it is much better in terms of access, but Niagara is still overall the winner in comparison.

  • 5/5 Doreen P. 9 months ago on Google
So beautiful, definitely worth the drive!! So scenic and such a nice place to bring your picnic and sit amongst the trees with the falls in the background. Donโ€™t forget to check the webcam before you come to see how much water is coming over the falls which depends on the time of year.. but no matter which time of year itโ€™s still a wonderful sight to see.

  • 5/5 Andrew P. 9 months ago on Google
Spectacular view! What a gem of a park. We were only there for a short period of time, but I was very jealous of the locals! They have a beautiful and natural wonder right in their backyard.

$5 gets you into both the lake and falls...beautiful scenery! Restrooms and even a gift shop at the falls. Not many stairs to get good views of the falls, but good views even without the stairs. Beautiful views of the canyon/gorge, with the peaceful sound of rushing water over the falls.

  • 5/5 Miranda P. 10 months ago on Google
What a phenomenal view! Multiple spots to view the falls, informational boards, bathrooms, and a small gift/snack shop right by the parking lot. $5 entrance fee for cars with a decent amount of parking. An absolute must stop if you're traveling through Twin Falls!

Shoshone falls is a must see attraction in Twin Falls city of Idaho. Also called "Niagara of West". About 5km from main city. It is on snake river canyon. Height is 212 feet (higher than Niagara) & width is 1000 feet. Flow is seasonal. Park is well maintained with few benches, lot of trees. Washroom facility available. Vehicle entry fee is $ 5. Virws are spectacular from view plateform. Although less water falls in September, still a beautiful place to visit.

The Army Core of Engineers turned off the water, and was dry. It was still quite a sight. Hiking near the lake was fun. We had a dog so you had to go to the left. Good times.

BEAUTIFUL, a must stop. The canyon is such a surprise as all of a sudden this huge deep slash in the earth. The waterfall is spectacular. kind of in a out of way spot, road not great to it. $5.00 per car entry fee, worth it. it was not busy. If you like waterfalls, stop. Pass on the side trip to Dierks lake and the fall by the hydroplant.

Mini Niagara Falls? I think not! The beauty and majesty of these falls allow them to stand on their own. There are a lot of fires right now so the sky is hazy. Normally it would be a perfectly clear, see for miles around, kind of day. If you make it to Idaho it is a MUST SEE for certain!?

Wow! We came here after going to Yellowstone. Wow. A hidden gem. Amazing waterfalls and flora. Worth the $5 admission per car for sure. All employees were very friendly and helpful with where to get the best shots of the waterfalls.

I would love to give this park 5 stars because the views themselves are worth it. The park is beautiful and well kept with no overflowing trashcans or litter all over the place. My biggest issue is the amount of cars they let in when they dont have the parking spots to accommodate. Sounds like a silly complaint I know but it sucks paying to park and use the park when you just have to turn around and leave because there is no where to park.

Amazing, if you want to make it a day trip and pack a picnic and swimsuits go to the lake that is on the same road. You can jump off the little cliffs into the clear water. The falls were awe inspiring. Definately a must see.

Shoshone falls is a beautiful place to lose your worries for a while. A real place of magic to share with loved ones. Also when the heat is too much, hop in the car and drive up to dierkes lake just up the canyon and have a swim in the crystal clear water.

Loved this place. A MUST STOP even if you are just passing through it is absolutely worth the detour. Only $5 per vehicle to get in, breathtaking majestic views. If you have more time, the lake is a fantastic spot to unwind, swim, jump off some rocks.

This is a very nice park with shady grassy areas. The cool mist of the falls was nice. There were many different viewpoints for pictures. It is easily for people with mobility challenges. $5 per car parking required (buses and RVs $20).

Shoshone falls park is a beautiful state park. It is one of my favorite places and I try to visit once a year. There are some wonderful views you can catch of the falls. If you are looking to sit down and picnic or hang out in the park it is great for that as well. The best time to go is when the water is really flowing, it is truly memorizing.

  • 5/5 Gary G. 3 years ago on Google
Best waterfall I have seen to date as I seek them out to photograph. You will not be disappointed. I hear there are times when flow is little so check into times when flow is good (end of summer or fall may not be).

Nice stop to stretch during a long drive. It was out of the way on our way to Snake River Falls and a bit of a tight fit with our RV. People working there were very pleasant and it was not that crowded. We picked up a few souvenirs at their shop on the way out.

They don't call it the Niagara Falls of the West for nothing. Road is very skinny so if you're towing something over 38 ft I'd be careful. 5$ per vehicle fee unless you got a pass. Best time to come is the spring when the snow floods the snake river.

It really is a hidden gem for sure. I would not long RV, two really tight turns with a trailer, and the gate parking lot is small. Go early and plan ahead in these situations. Other than that it was an awesome find on a long drive.

What a beautiful gem right in the middle of a city! These are known as the "Niagara Falls of the West Coast". We went in August and there was plenty of water. There are small falls that lead to one large falls. The natural landscape is spectacular. The grounds are very well kept. We could have stayed there all day as the view and sound of the falls is therapeutic! There are a couple of trails that we didn't have time to do, but looked interesting. We got an extra treat, because there is a bridge on the road out of the city, called Perrine Bridge, that had base jumpers jumping off of. We found out later that this is one of the only bridges in the U.S. that one can legally jump off of. There is a viewing area beside the bridge where we got to enjoy the tricks and sights of the base jumpers.
