Peaceful place... Madayi para and madayi kavu are adjacent places. Must visit both places. The speciality of this temple is that here sacred food served is chicken. The Pooja for that is known as "Shaakthi Pooja"

An ancient and soothing temple. First visit the shiv temple across the road..than go to madayi kavu as the madayi kavu Prasad has non-veg,with that one cannot go to shiv temple...so first shiv temple than madayi kavu..

Thiruvarkadu Bhagavathy temple, known as Madayi Kavu is considered to be the mother of all Bhadrakali temples of North Kerala. Here the deity is the Fierce form of Bhadrakali. Bhagavathy is also addressed as Tiruvarkkad Achchi. The temple, situated in Madayi, Pazhayangadi in Kannur District, Kerala. The temple is opened around the year all days from 4.30 am to 12.00pm and evening from 5.00 pm to 7.00pm. Important poojaas of the temple are usha pooja at 5am ucha pooja at 11.30 am and sandya pooja at 6.15 pm. Enter the temple trough eastern nada and following circumambulatory path ,worship Lord Shastha first, then Kshethrapaalakan then lord Siva, then Mathrusaala and finally the Goddess.

Thiruvarkadu Bhagavathi Temple is the mother temple of all Bhadrakali shrines of North Kerala. The deity is the Fierce form of Bhadrakali. The Bhagavathy is addressed by tantrics in the vicinity as Tiruvarkkad Achchi due to this. The temple administration is Malabar Devaswom Board.

If you are traveling from Kannur, you have to get down at payangadi bus stand and take auto to temple which will cost 30. A very powerful temple. Positive vibes. The temple priests are really co operative. . Unique of this temple is you have chicken dish as one among the prasadam. Mr Unni temple priest is such a gem of person who explains every aspect of Pooja. Rare to find such people.

Visited on a Sunday, it was busy but had a darshan without much wait. This temple offerings are both veg and non veg. Be sure to ask specifically for veg or non veg prasadam.

Holy place 🙏 Tuesday, Friday evenings are like heaven at this place. Gets goosebumps when they start pooja with kerala traditional drums. Love to hear the drums 🥁 when pooja is happening around the side. Much powerfull goddess. Special poojas are done over the new moon and full moon and Seva tickets will be avaliable at the temple counter over the day.

One of the famous Devi temples in Kannur very next to madayi para. The place has enough parking space and lot of staff to organize and handle the crowd. You should wear dhothi to enter in and follow the directions suggested by the staff to pray. The temples prasadam for Aka Pooja has green gram and chicken. Payasam is also available as pràsadam. Vadakund Shiva temple is another nearby temple. And you have the famous madayipara to spend your evening

Note : Before going to bhadrakaali temple first u visit and get dharshana in Shiva temple. It's located 2km away from bhadrakaali temple. I'm not adding bhadrakaali temple photos I don't have pics. But added Shiva temple pics, Lord Shiva Lingu is very very looking very bright, peaceful and positivity is rich in temple. Stay happy vth ur beautiful family....❤️ Do Safe journey.....🙏

People from almost Kerala and Karnataka visits the temple. Looks like very old temple with the energy of Maa Kali felt while nearing the Sanctum Sanctorum. Discipline and decorum is well maintained amidst crowd. People were made to stand in line to worship Lord Shiva first, then Saptha Maathrukkal (7 mother Goddess), then Thiruvarkattu Achi (Mother Kaali), and Lord Sastha (Lord Ayyappa). This temple is 1 to 1.5 kms from Pazhayangadi or Payangadi railway station.
