I had visited this place many times before the pandemic started and it was really good, but I just had a very disappointing experience. The food didn't taste good. It feels like the dishes were cooked so fast that the ingredients didn't acquired a good taste so the flavors were bland. We ordered the asian bistro ramen, beef king pao and a wok fried seafood.

After a day on Amtrak and about 8 miles of walking around DC and Alexandria, we were tired and hungry. We literally picked this place because it was right next to our Airbnb. None of us were really craving Asian, but here we were. Well, Look no further if you are looking for an explosion of tastes in Old Town, Alexandria. Starving or not, we would have recognized the expertise in the chef's knowledge this cuisine. Three of us ordered to share. The rolls were outstanding, the warmth complimenting the textures. We could actually taste the crab in the Crab Rangoons. This is not always the case, often times, whatcha get is some cream cheese without any hint of crab. The General Tso's Chicken was fresh, clean and crisp tasting. I'm not really a fan because I usually sense a smokey flavor. No smokey here. Perfection! My friend ordered a tofu dish with vegetables that was probably some of the best flavored tofu I'd ever eaten. THAT takes talent! My choice was a shrimp and cashew fried rice which was so flavorful I couldn't stop. With all the restaurants to chose from in Old Town, I would make it a point to stop here at Asian Bistro. It's on my "gotta go here again" list.

Earlier I had given this place very good reviews, but the quality of the food is getting worse. Burned/ overcooked also fried in oil that was used many many times, has a bad taste.

I typically am very picky when it comes to my asian cuisine foods. But HOLYYYY!!! I love this place so much. I really recommend getting the broccoli stir fry here at Asian Bistro. Everything is perfect when it comes to the sauce, the flavor, the portioning. It’s all perfect. I usually never say this.. but if I could have one thing to eat for the rest of my life it would be Asian bistro foods!!

Very good prices! The soy sauce ramen and sushi were very good. I will be back to try other dishes. The floors were sticky like a mug tho someone clean that thang 🧼🧹🧹 2nd visit: I Stopped by here after a bike ride to mt Vernon and went to town on the ramen and spicy Thai basil chicken. It was delicious.

I don’t know what happened to Asian Bistro, but the food was barely tolerable. There was Tom cha soup that was watery, devoid of vegetables or even good mushrooms, chokingly too much lime juice and an almost clear broth. The chicken sesame was worse, if that’s even possible. It was fried chicken breast pieces smothered in a sugary sauce with bland broccoli pieces and some dried out carrot julienned on the side. I’m not a picky eater, but blah. No placemats or even a small vase of flowers or a bottle of soy sauce to rescue this subpar meal on the table. Never coming back. Miss the restaurant I used to know. No wonder the place was empty of customers.

A very nice eatery at a pretty location in Old Town. Interior of the restaurant is clean and pretty, food choices are excellent (we got General Tso's, lo mein, sushi, spring rolls, and fried rolls) and service was quick and professional. Reasonable pricing too. Would definitely return!

Omg, the best crab wonton and Korean beef I've ever eaten. The young man who served us was efficient, polite and friendly.

They sadly exchanged their menus and service for an obscure online system. You need to use your phone to see the food available, and pay from your phone to get an order in. No more service, no human contact, now you're with your date stuck on your phone trying to figure out from the dishes' pictures if that is what you like (the waitress won t answer questions). Then you have to type all your info in (name, address, email, phone, the name of your aunt) followed by your credit card information. I don't come to a restaurant to be on my phone. This used to be my favorite Sushi place. No more.... I suggest the Vietnamese Restaurant right behind on Cameron street instead, you will be greeted there with a good old fashion smile.

My sesame chicken was just drowned in extremely sweet sauce. Not my thing, but I’m sure someone else would like it. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. My food was always ready in just 10 minutes.

Great service and food. Delicious peanut noodles recommended by server. Will go back.

I ordered pork lo mein from here and got it delivered. The pork tasted great but I had to add a lot of soy sauce (my own they didn't provide any) for the rest of the meal to have any flavor. Overall it was ok but not great.

We just had a lovely take out sushi dinner. The food was great but the packaging of the sushi made me so happy! Good old fashioned cardboard. No plastic except for the soy sauce containers and maybe I can opt out of those next time. Thank you for this extra step.

Probably one of, if not the best Asian food locations that I have ever eaten at! Thought the Sesame Chicken and General Tso's chicken from my hame town Asian was good, but The Asian Bistro's version blew it out of the water! Amazing food, super atmosphere and top-notch service made this the best place we have eaten during our stay in Washington DC!

I used to beg to come here after summer camp as a kid, I ordered takeout here as comfort food when I was cramming for finals in college, and now I go in for a bite whenever I just want some good food as an adult. The food has always been great and fairly priced. The owner is very kind as well. I love this little spot.

Really glad that I stopped here for lunch. The staff was so friendly and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of vegetarian options. They have a full menu dedicated to vegetarian options! I had the sweet and sour tofu and my partner had the pho. My dish was so fresh and flavorful. I’ll be dreaming about it for a while.

Good food, good friendly service. Decent prices. Small place, but not too busy on a Friday night. The Cashew Chicken was delicious, and the Papaya Salad was excellent.
