I’ve been enjoying John’s hoagies since I was kid when my friends and I would ride our bikes there to grab lunch. It’s still the best hoagie in Wayne!

I have been going to John’s since 1998, and the sandwiches are as amazing as they ever were. I have no idea how anyone in their right mind could argue that a Wawa hoagie is even in the same category of food, let alone as good as or better than a John’s hoagie. If you need a great sandwich with high quality ingredients, that also keeps things simple, then John’s is your place. Great food, great service, and a staple of the neighborhood that hopefully remains for years to come.

I came here as a child with my family, and I'm happy to return now that I work in the area. I love the aesthetic of stepping back in time, the moment you enter this small family owned business there is a genuine authentic warmth, and you immediately feel welcome. The sandwiches, hoagies, sides, and homemade sauces are incredible!  High quality everything - bread, meats, sauces, each item sold here is the best and made with love.  I highly recommend John's Village Market, it is a singular place most people will find is well worth coming back to again and again.  You may even be inspired to say your Vesper prayers!

These hoagies are next level with quality meats and cheeses. You can taste the difference compared to the local chain options. Family owned and operated adds an extra touch to the visit.

I've been a customer for ~15 years and stop by everytime I get a chance. John's is the quintessential family owned mom & pop shop. Deli is exclellent. Homemade food is excellent. Atmosphere and service are excellent. Prices are very fair. Lot's of unusual and tasty ancillary food items and snacks to grab while you wait. Really miss their roast pork, which I'd rank as the best in the region over all other popular steak/pork places, but their italian hoagies and hot beef & gravy are just as legendary. A+. Highly recommend.

We have been going to John’s for years to get a great hoagie. Yesterday for the first time both hoagies were very disappointing. The Italian had little to no lettuce, tomato & onion and no requested oil on the roll. The turkey had little to no lettuce, tomato & onion and no requested cheese. I would prefer you charge more and continue making the great hoagie we are used to eating.

Im a home builder for the mainline, and I have been working on Poplar (right down the street from John’s village market) and it’s absolute the best. My family is in the food business also and this place 100 percent gets it! Everything on the menu is great! Refer this place to anyone new in the area!

Great place. Reminds me of a small family-owned Italian deli that my family frequented in my childhood. Nice people, great products, and possibly the best hoagies I’ve ever had.

You can't get a better Italian hoagie anywhere else on the Main Line, arguably in Philly too. This little shop in the neighborhood is truly a hidden gem.

I've been enjoying John's since I was allowed to ride there on my bike as a kid. 40 years later, still the best hoagies around.

Place looked awesome, but $11 for a 6” Italian that is mostly bread is just sad. the flavor and ingredient quality seems good but there’s little to no oil and vinegar, and every ingredient even things like lettuce and hot peppers they just totally skimped on. It’s not a good sign if you just wished you went to Wawa for a better sub at half price.

My first time at John’s today and I had an absolutely excellent tuna hoagie!! 10/10. Will definitely return soon!

Delicious, as always! We recommend the Italian (cold), and either of the hot sandwiches (meatballs or roast beast.) Also fantastic cole slaw.

Love this gem. I was introduced to them as a student 37 years ago and always make it a point to get my hogies (similar to, but not exactly, subs if you come drop the Midwest) from them. Great bread and they never skimp on the meats or extras. Definately get their platter for a work or family event if you want a taster! Try them, they do NOT disappoint.

Make sure you call ahead or have a backup plan because they close before their posted hours. 2:15 on Saturday and it’s locked up.

Iv been coming to this place for a long time. The prices are going up but the sandwiches and meats seem to be less. I don’t think I will be eating at this place anymore..

A customer at our shop dropped off sandwiches from John’s yesterday. All the guys were blown away! They’ve definitely earned customers! Bread and the meat are absolutely top quality. PLUS they hit the meat to veggie ratio right on the head! DEFINITELY will be back!

I’m vegetarian and have never had such a good sub! Great authentic Italian deli with great gourmet grocery items and snacks, too.

Still love their hoagies and the guys that run JVM, but we do miss the early evening hours they were open in the past.

John’s used to have the best hoagies in Wayne. Not anymore and noticeably NO RECENT pictures OF hoagies.however some folks remain loyal no matter what. That’s why the reviews are very mixed. Truthfully, not as good as they were. Sorry JVM.
