The staff were kind and helpful, though unfortunately the rooms were absolutely sub-par. While I understand that for the price we can't expect anything but basic & simple, but this place needs MUCH better housekeepers, there is no excuse for the rooms being dirty. Floors unswept, dust on furniture, hair in the tub and sink. The non-smoking room I had booked smelled like years of cigarettes, so I had to move to a different type of room, which was equally unclean. Again, the staff were polite and check-in was nice, but the rooms need TLC.

New owners, deceitful advertising, absolutely useless. Manager or front desk person has no idea how to program doors. Water leaking from upstairs room not fixed due to incompetent staffing and owners who do not care about satisfying their guests. Advertising a salt- water mineral pool which is in fact just a regular swimming pool. Stay as far away from this hotel as possible.

Do not book at this hotel. When we arrived at the hotel there was no one to check us in. We called 4 times before arrival with no answer. We were stranded with no place to stay and out $90. Don't waste your time, sleep, or money. Go anywhere else.

For a budget hotel, it was not bad, I have been in worse places that cost more.. The staff is hard working, and pleasant and courteous. *Don't book if your expecting high class* for what it is it's a great hotel.. stayed there 3 nights

UPDATE: Note the passive aggressive and condescending tone of the business's response to this review. Then read the other reviews and responses. Lol, they deleted the response. Very comfortable bed! It was a comfortable inn, with a few exceptions. I checked in at 4am and had to wake up the night shift person. The room smelled a bit like smoke when we first walked in, but I've smelled worse. There was a cockroach in the bathtub, so I killed it and flushed it. Housekeeping was banging on my door at 9:30, and I informed him that check-out was at 11, not 9:30. And it looked like the floor had been mopped, but not swept first. Lastly, had I read the reviews, and seen the snarky, argumentative, and non-compassionate responses to negative reviews, I would've never booked a night here. Your responses indicate the level of service to be expected. When everything is great, you're happy, but when something goes wrong, you seem to try to blame everyone but yourself, and even belittle your customers. Not a good way to attract new customers. Feel free to demonstrate your bad behavior below.

I stayed for 5 nights. Upon check in our room was okay except the floor was dirty and there were someone else's sunglasses left in the room. The next night was okay. After that, we could not get our room cleaned again. I complained nightly to have our room cleaned, both owners were informed, and every night I had to beg for clean towels. We were only there to sleep and shower so coming back to the room at 11:00 at night to see it was never cleaned, all the towels were dirty, and the trash over flowing was disheartening. Every night the owners were informed. They never did anything or had my room cleaned after saying they would take care of it. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend anyone stay here. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, and believe me the two star rating even seems like a stretch, but having a semi clean room and clean towels should be the bare minimum at least and they couldn't handle that.

It’s very great for the price it is. Some people’s complaints seem exaggerative. The beds are soft and clean, the internet is ok and it has a nice lake view if that matters to you. If you need a place to stay that’s affordable this is definitely the place to go but if you want an extravagant experience you should look elsewhere and possibly raise your price range.

I have stayed at the Magnolia many times over the last few years. The last time I was there it did look shabby and not too clean but, you could not beat the price. One night I can deal with it. Last week I booked on line. That might have been my mistake. I got Room 125. It's the last room on the end. It's very small compared to the other rooms. Ok, no problem. The door was damaged and did not lock properly, problem. The room was dark and dingy, problem. I didn't want to touch anything. The kicker was the bed. It was a large, lumpy, soft hole. I ended up lying horizontally along the headboard, where pillows are placed. I'm short so it worked for me. Yes, I should have requested another room but, it was very late and I was exhausted. I left very early without even taking a shower. I have decided that it isn't worth the low price to stay somewhere that needs a serious overhaul and cleaning. I judge a motel/hotel by whether I can walk barefoot on the floor. In all the times I stayed at the Magnolia, I wore socks or slippers. It's gotten worse than that. Too bad, it was a great deal.

Room was dusty. Housekeeping was not up to par. My second day there in my bed was not made I did not have clean towels. I had to go to the front desk four times because my key will not work in the lock. There was something wrong with Housekeeping was not up to par. My second day there in my bed was not made I did not have clean towels. I had to go to the front desk four times because my key will not work in the lock. There’s something wrong with the card the front of the air conditioner looked like it was going to fall off the wall. there was only one person that worked there that was courteous. The guy that checked me and seem to have an attitude which I do not appreciate. I will not stay at this hotel again. I will find another one the next time I am in Kingsland.

Book a room on their official website just to get there and be towed they do not have my reservation and I was charged up front front desk told me that they don't have the reservation because I made it on their official website and not a third party booking site like booking or Priceline and the reason they do not have the reservation from there official website is because they just brought the property about 2 weeks ago then told me they were sold out but have one room available but they wanted over $200 for it the hotel looks run down a lot of what looks like Junkies walking around it was very inconvenient because I was traveling from another state and had a confirmation for a reservation at their property that I made on their website just to be told that they don't have access to the website I mean what type of business does not have access to their own website it was very inconvenient but once I got there inside the property I was like yeah I probably rather sleep in my car but the area is in a great location convenient to everything just don't book this property doesn't look safe or clean

Definitely wouldn't suggest it to anyone. They are crooks! Wouldn't let me check In after a 12 hr drive, had my daughter with me, it was around 4 a.m. i ended up having to pay for another room, and never got a refund. They refuse to give me my money back! My bank account almost bounced and my car insurance canceled. These people are careless, put me in a uncomfortable and stressful situation financially, and emotionally.

Clean room, decent AC. Only reason for low rating is this is the first time I've ever slept in a hotel that uses polyester sheets. Gross! I don't sleep in plastic sheets. Also very noisy in the morning.

The moment I walked in my room, it reeks of cigarettes when they are a non-smoking motel. I know that’s beyond their control who is smoking in their rooms but for someone who has intense asthma, the first night was rough. They use their bedside lamps in order to have light in the room, light switches don’t work. Mystery stains all over the bathtub, remote control batteries for the TV were dead. Walls are so thin, I even woke up to someone’s iPhone alarm at 6:30am from the room adjacent to me. I really was trying to give this place a chance, but you get what you pay for. Spend the extra $15 a night and pick another hotel that’s walking distance of this one.

I try to leave reviews with respect. With that said, I couldn't wait to get out of there. I went and bought bug spray, then slept a beach towel I had in the car. I didn't touch anything. It was so dirty. I finally fell asleep and when I woke I got out of there. I could not wait to get out of there. The continental breakfast was so small it was ridiculous. Coffee, mini donut and mini muffin. They were both the size of a half dollar coin. I can understand being inexpensive but it was down right cheap... They could stand to put some maintenance into the property.

TERRIBLE!!!! Beds were hard as a rock, only given three pillows that are small and uncomfortable. Room smell like cigarettes and marijuana. Small bathroom to move around even for two skinny people. Live and dead bugs were found throughout the room. Sheets had cum stains. Lightness was bad while cooking, caused to burn food or under cook food. Hotel cards didn’t work most of the time to get back into the room so had to go all the way up to office every time. Continental breakfast wasn’t given even though is said it was on the sheet of paper the only thing for breakfast was small muffins and coffee. Terrible service. Me and my husband stayed for a week and we never got house keeping.

🪳 Cockroaches in bathroom, really bad odor in room for being supposedly cleaned, doors are not safe to get in and out of room, bathtub has stains in it and wouldn't refund any portion of our fees for inadequate accommodations. Had my family and friends with us and so embarrassed for the type of rooms. Wouldn't ever go back again or recommend it to someone.

The staff member my fiance spoke with was very helpful. We didn't end up staying and got a refund because the bed had some bugs in it

For a budget hotel (using the coupon) it was a decent place to stay while travelling through. We were in a recently updated room in which the bed was comfortable and clean as was the bathroom. The floor was laminate which I appreciated! Slept well and both the person working checkin and the owner at checkout were kind and courteous.

The price was very good. We stayed 6 nights. Our room was clean with the exception of the blow dryer but I brought my own. Microwave and mini fridge was good! Was nice to have a bag of two waters and some snacks at check in. The problem was getting more than one towel after our initial ones. I went to the front desk and asked and was told they’d be brought up but we waited till midnight and gave up. I asked cleaning personnel the following day and only got one and even each time thereafter just one…there was two of us! I actually had to go to my sons to shower! Inconvenient when I paid and stated two people when I booked.

Beware!! I could not give this room a zero or I would have. We paid over $200 for 2 rooms plus charged a security deposit. 1st room: no refrigerator and 1" thick dust in the spot it was suppose to be. Tub was dirty, under the bed was filthy. . 2nd room: bathtub and shower filthy. The door had a security lock broke. When the door was shut you could see outside all the way around it where bugs crawled in. Then the expecting of the beds come as I always do. I found a infestation of bed bugs. The mattresses are a thin hide-a-bed with a spong mattress topper on top of it. The room was disgusting and filthy. I do not know how to attach pictures or I would attach them.

Very good. Check in was professional and efficient and I got a goodie bag. The room was clean, the AC worked great, there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure, the wifi was strong and fast, and there were electric outlets all over the room, more than enough. The bed was extremely soft which was a luxurious change of pace for one night but might be problematic if I had to sleep on it any longer than that because of my back issues. Please be aware that some major third party sites are advertising that this hotel has rooms with whirlpool jacuzzi tubs in the room, but they do not have any rooms with jacuzzis any more per the gentleman at the front desk. A price adjustment for the premium for that was made with no issues and he said he'd update the listings. Overall a very good experience and I'd definitely stay here again. Thanks.
