This was the nicest surprise I have ever had. We booked it thinking it may not be a pleasant experience being above a Wetherspoons but how wrong we were. The rooms are quiet and very well maintained. The bed is extremely comfortable and the shower is very luxurious and efficient. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful! It’s a highly recommended stay and close to the station and many of the city attractions.

Went in for breakfast, because we've been before and it was decent. BIG mistake!! I ordered a large breakfast with black pud & a regular breakfast, with 2 coffees. Was told by the person serving "sorry we've no black pud", oh well, never mind I thought. Then she tells me, there's no tomatoes, oh and no bread so we can't have toast either... I should have walked away at this point, but was a bit hungry, so went on with the order, thinking that as we're not getting the full breakfasts advertised we'd get a price reduction. Nope! Didn't happen, still had to pay full price. I thought we might maybe get an extra sausage or something to make up for the missing items, that didn't happen either! When the food arrived, it was cold, greasy and tasteless. Honestly we'd have been better off going to mackies. Don't think I'll bother again

Did not use rooms, just went for a hot meal with refillable coffee. Great value and fast service. Ours came within 10 minutes. Quorn sausages, chips, beans and two fried eggs. Came hot and delicious. Thank you. The rejuvenation juice worked almost flawlessly, but my hair didn't grow back. I will be sure to put in a very strongly worded complaint lol.

Stayed here with my partner for one night. The hotel, for the price was superb and I couldn’t fault it. Having stayed in hotels ranging from £30 to £300 and beyond I would place the room amenities up there in the £150+ range. The room was large with a comfy bed (albeit, 2 singles pushes together), plenty of sockets and USB charging points and tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Bedding, towels and room were extremely clean, the only downside was the lack of pillows - an additional 2 per room would be ideal. Whilst, as described the room was excellent, by far the best feature was the shower - hot, great water pressure and spacious, it is honestly one of the best hotel showers I’ve had. The one downside of the hotel itself, is the check-in procedure. Whilst the staff were fantastic, having to carry bags though the pub to the bar to begin check-in procedure could be a bit of a task on a busy night, luckily our stay was a Monday night so it was quiet. On the evening, we had food and a few light drinks - staff, once again, were superb and food arrived promptly. The following morning, for breakfast we also ate, this time the staff weren’t as friendly, and were in-fact quite rude and abrupt, not what I would expect and did let the venue down slightly. But, other than the morning - we had an excellent stay, and being the first Wetherspoons hotel we stayed in has set an excellent precedent. If we are in the area, we will almost certainly stay here again.

Nice bit of scran.... Safe choice... same as all other spoons but...Good value, average quality food that you can rely on. Using the app makes ordering simple. Fast, efficient, service and the free refills on coffee was a bonus.

We chose this hotel based on its very central location and 4 star rating. There were a few issues however. This hotel is above a busy wetherspoons pub, logic would dictate there would be a separate entrance to access the hotel so guests wouldn't have to wade through drunk crowds. However there isn't. There is a door that says hotel above it but it's a fire door can only open from inside and only to be used in emergency. For this reason I wouldn't advise staying with kids it's not ideal. I didn't know there wasn't a separate entrance when I booked. The that booked us in wasn't overly welcoming. The lift smelt strongly of something unpleasant. Also at around 2am our air conditioning (that can't be altered in the room you have to call reception) began leaking and dripping so little sleep was had. On the plus side the room was a good size and very clean. I would stay here maybe with a friend or partner but not with my child again. It also wasn't very disabled friendly lots of stairs even to get to the lift. Good value for money however.

We all know what a Whetherspoons does food and drink wise but the hotel room here was AMAZING! It was clean, spacious and bright. The towels were fluffy and they even supplied oat milk sachets with the tea and coffee in the room. We didn't have to pay a deposit for an extra key either. The rates change from day to day but even then it was very good value for money. We will be planning another stay here unlike the previous hotel we stayed at. The staff were lovely and in the mornings when we went down for breakfast, it had that real holiday feel to it as there were no early morning drinkers like you get in some 'Spoons. Highly recommend!!

The food is of an OK standard, I would say we have to speak to staff over the quality or missing items about 20% of the time. The tables are always dirty, but it's to be expected with a high footfall. I'd recommend to anyone who's after a super cheap meal and a drink but not after anything fancy.

It's just as we all know. Cheap drinks, meeting up point, nice little lunch if you fancy a something with a pint. Affordable, lovely staff. Nothing fancy but the burgers are great. Don't go and winge afterwards saying microwave rubbish...go pay for quality then elsewhere. CHEAP , CHEERFUL AND AFFORDABLE .

Been here many times and have never had any problems. Good beer and plenty of choice. Especially at witherspoon prices. Staff are very helpful and friendly. I would recommend the Admiral to anyone

First time we have visited this hotel and city, really enjoyed our stay, beautiful place friendly people and nice to see a pub so busy. Thank you to the staff for a welcoming and enjoyable stay. We will definitely be booking again. 😊❤

This is a typical Wetherspoons pub with classic pub grub and a wide range of reasonably priced drinks. After ordering at the bar our food was served at our table quite quickly. We both chose the fish and chips with mushy peas. The price included an alcoholic drink, we chose Shipyard Pale Ale and a pint of Strongbow cider. Everything was delicious and extremely good value.

Great place to meet and eat during the day and evening. Large open area with plenty of seating. Decent prices for food. The only letdown for me is a little background music. It would be nice in the evenings.

A bit unfair to rate as there was a concert round the corner so packed. But got served quite quick and just about got a seat. Staff friendly and good selection of beer. Good location near train station and city.

We only came for the bar on the ground floor... Very cozy nice ambience...you can still feel the night life bar atmosphere even though we came at 2 in the afternoon. I love the food that we order definitely a recommended partner for a nice cold beer!

Lovely spoons in the centre of Town, only a 5 minute walk from station. The prices are great as always, quick service, and the place is always clean. Good atmosphere and feels cosy. Large bathrooms, so you never have to queue for the loo. Never stayed in any of the hotel rooms but the reviews seem to be good for those too!

Centrally located so couldn't be easier to find. Friendly staff and quick service, both at the bar and for food. It's a 'spoons at the end of the day. We ordered food. It came. We ate it. 😂 Nothing special but didn't go in expecting it! Decent food for the price.

My 14 yr old autistic daughter visited today with her support worker. She accidentally ordered two meals instead of one, yet you refused to refund her for the extra one. A little bit of compassion would have gone a long way here. Very disappointed and we won’t be visiting again.

Can’t fault it. Stayed a couple of times and the rooms are really comfortable and clean. Good value too. Very lively bar below hotel. Cheap but tasty Wetherspoons breakfast. Central location with car parking nearby (council run, £3 for 24 hours). Loads to do in a short walking distance from the hotel. Theatres, bars, Humber Street and the marina plus the Bonus Arena.

Called inbetween train journeys from Filey to Leeds. Convenient to call for dinner. Hot day but air con kept it cool/ comfortable. Atmosphere good, staff very friendly and accommodating. Food service swift and staff cleared/ wiped used tables quickly. The 2 of us had fish + chips. Had them many times in other Wetherspoons, and enjoyed, but these were exceptional. Decent size portions, perfectly cooked and food/ plate hot.

Been a few times now. It has a decent bar which even when busy is kept clean. The staff a polite and welcoming. I would give 5 stars but unfortunately when it gets too busy, you can unfortunately, accidentally be over looked while waiting at the bar. The prices are reasonable for both food and drinks. There are plenty of food and drink options to choose from. There are several wines, beers, cocktails etc all at an affordable price. Unfortunately I can't say what the rooms and staff are like, as I haven't stayed over.

Good hotel, smashing rooms for the money .. certainly recommended. Problems in kitchen massively impacted food availability with no hint of an apology or compensation for breakfast which should have been sent back it was so bad. Staff friendly and bar service fast and efficient. No parking though nearby car parking available.

Large pub restaurant for all meals and drinks! Friendly staff. Refill coffee and tea. Situated near train and bus station which makes it a great start of your day in Hull. We had breakfast with a twist: due to bird flu no eggs available so English Breakfast with all ingredients except eggs. My friend had a fresh fruit dish and I had oatmeal and banana. Clean sanitation. Lovely lunches. Dinners. Vegetarian dishes available. Lactose free available too. Oatmilk. Wonderful. Decent prices. Wheelchair access possible. Next time in Hull we will be back

This was a lesson in life! Went in for breakfast at 10.49am. every 1 person in 3 drinking beer!! Well, what do you expect? It's a weatherspoons!!! The server was friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was good in fairness and well priced. £20 for four breakfasts and 3 hot drinks...

Only popped in for breakfast after a night out in Hull and was pleasantly surprised. Staff were lovely and breakfast was enjoyable at a very reasonable price. It was very busy but yet we didn't have long to wait for our breakfast and no wait at all to get served. Will definitely be back. 🙂

The pub was not busy when I attended. The staff were friendly and there was quick service at the bar. Ordered food which was Steak & Mash and burger & chips. The food arrived quickly and the steak was cooked medium as requested. Was surprised there was no sides such as veg, included. Toilet facilities were clean.

Nice pub when it's not too busy and it has a great roof terrace. It's a big pub and when it's full, service gets bad, tables don't get cleaned enough and waiting times for food and drinks drops... my friend once waited 20 minutes for a Pepsi one Saturday night. I've never stayed in the hotel so don't know what that's like, my review is solely based on the pub.

Always packed and really noisy, but what else can you expect from a spoons? Good service, friendly staff, usually the kitchen remembers to heat your plate first but not always. Can't go wrong for your money.
