What can we say about Red Sails? We have so much to say, but we will try and keep it short. Gavin and the staff are brilliant. Due to our first venue cancelling our wedding, we had to find an alternative very quickly. We approached Red Sails and they were more than happy to help us. We discussed with Gavin what we would like and he was able to carry out every instruction. The staff were very attentive and discreet. They asked before they came in to clear away glasses etc. Everyone loved their carvery and my sister was really pleased because she was able to have a gluten free yorkie pud! Thank you to everyone for helping make our day relaxed, enjoyable and special. We will be back for another carvery. Thank you x x x

Been to many pub's that have a carvery, i picked the carvery and my wife picked hunter's chicken, when ordering the staff said they were busy but would let us know when the chicken was almost ready so i could go get the carvery, the lady came as they said to say it was nearly ready so i went to the carvery and when i came back my wife's meal was on the table meaning we ate together. In many places with a carvery this doesn't happen so well done to the staff for this. As they say little things mean alot, so we will be visiting again.

Not been to the Red Sails before, had heard good reports & so we went for lunch today. Never met such friendly, attentive & helpful staff, everyone was so lovely & welcoming. We had a Carvery & food really nice, will definitely go there again, really nice atmosphere & layout of restaurant. Special thanks to Andy at the Carvery & also Amber our waitress, I would name more if I knew their names as all so nice, thank you 😊

We had a last minute visit, We ate at 3pm. I had a Carvery. The Roast Beef was dry, tough, and full of gristle. I appreciate every piece of meat is different so wouldn’t score the place purely on this. The various veg were ok but not very flavourful. Not much more to add. It filled a hole and was fairly priced, but I was a little disappointed. The kids pushed theirs around their plates as well. They had a chicken Korma, and Chicken Dippers. The place it’s self looked a little run down. The bench at table 33 which we sat at was warn out and falling apart. The staff were pleasant and friendly, no complaints about the service provided.

Our fave place in hull for a Sunday carvery. Always plenty to choose from and really generous portions. The dauphinois potatoes are amazing g! Staff are always lovely and greet you with a smile on their face. Especially the beautiful waitress, Frisian… her smile lights up the room and she goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Great Sunday lunch at this busy pub. There is a carvery on offer on Sundays as well as a comprehensive menu with a good choice of food on offer. Ordering online through a QR code, it was a straightforward process and the drinks arrived quickly. The food took an appropriate amount of time and when it arrived, all four of us were pleased with our selections. Decent portions and good quality.

Had 2 carvery’s, one with meat and one without…both lovely, great selection of meat & veg with huge Yorkshire puddings. Empty plates as you can see. All staff friendly and polite. Will definitely be back.

A big thank you to all the staff and management. My sister had a 60th birthday at Red Sails yesterday. The staff couldn't do enough to look after us and make my sisters day special. The food was delicious especially the cavery, would highly recommend for any occasion.

Even though very busy the meal was cooked to perfection. Great food!! I can understand why this Red Sails Pub is busy. Best steak 😋 me and my husband have ever had. Our compliments to the chef. Also great service from all staff. We'll done ! 👏

We popped in here for a cheap and cheerful pub lunch but left pleasantly surprised. The food is reasonably priced for large portions and it tasted much fresher than many other standard pubs I've visited. Staff were accomodating to toddlers requirements and made the outing really enjoyable. Looking forward to visiting again to try more of the menu. The chocolate tart was beautiful!

What a lovely experience! The carvery was exceptional. Definitely the best carvery in Hull in terms of quality and price. Shoutout to Paddy and the rest of the team, who were extremely jolly and friendly, making the experience a very positive one! We will be back to try some of their wonderful looking deserts in the near future. 🍰

I visited Red Sails six months ago and it was not the best experience. However, the visit today could not have been more different. The staff were great. The only thing they were interested in was making sure everyone in the establishment got what they needed when they needed it. There was no rushng anyone, just great service. The food was great, everything was ready at the right time, and there were good portions. The atmosphere was relaxed despite it being quite busy and very close to Christmas. Every single member of staff was polite and cheerful. The improvement in the last six months deserves five stars alone, let alone the great staff and food. It was certainly worth a revisit and I am sure we will all be back soon.

Warm greeting by super friendly staff. Great food served promptly. Tables cleared as soon as safe after people left. As we left, my wife had left her scarf but bythe time we took our first steps outside the staff brought it to us!!

Good service on ordering our food, with no problem using the voucher I had. Table had been reserved, so just had to ask a staff member where it was, as no one on the door. The food was good, we all had the carvery, only downside it was not hot enough in our opinion, but nonetheless okay.

Even though we booked online and called to confirm, the table wasn’t available when we arrived however by the time we got our drinks the hostess took us to the table. The restaurant looked very busy yet everyone was kind and welcoming and a good atmosphere was noticeable. The drinks were served promptly and we were offered extras to our food order. We all(2adults+2children) had carvery with extra pigs in blankets. We were served in good time and I think the choice of sides was good. The meat was rather dry- especially turkey ( it must have been out for a long time- maybe smaller portions should be cooked so meat could be at its best even in the afternoon?) the sides were regularly changed or added but it did look a bit messy in that section. There was a wide selection of sauces and the way everything was set up it was easy to help yourself to anything you wanted. Overall the food was really tasty and service attentive. Will definitely go back. Thank you

Ordered a special at £14 after ordering waitress informed us wasn’t available as no peppers Partner said I’ll have it with chips and told price difference would be made up by doing as a starter We received a plate of greasy cold cauliflower and chips no sauce or garnish or flatbread After seeing it informed waitress that only chips was edible she disappeared into the kitchen upon returning she informed us the the chef said it’s a product issue he’s had lots of complaints and wouldn’t recommend it Another waitress came across after 15 minutes wait to offer a refund And a poor excuse of its cost to much to check and taste food ,when we asked if the chef was happy not to send a plate of grease out and if food could be tried or drains before platting her response was don’t shoot the messenger I’ve refunded don’t order it again Item was still available online to purchase a hour after ordering even though staff are aware or product issue and standard

Originally booked online and received a call from a team member called Rich. Apparently I had booked the Festive Carvery and the call was to take note of what we were wanting. I explained to Rich that it was the normal Carvery or menu meal i needed. I had paid £15 deposit as it told me this was required. As it was when we arrived it was Rich who was behind the bar and remembered what had gone on with my booking and immediately made note on my tab to take the deposit off on the bills final total. The staff and the food was excellent and I have already recommended Red Sails to 2 of my close friends. You will be seeing more of me for sure. We'll done all.

The red sails is a modern pub mainly aimed at the dining trade. They have a wide selection of beers including two regular hand pulled cask conditioned real ales and a changeing guest beer. It is a large comfortable pub ideal for groups. There is good food menu with plenty of choice. Nice attractive beer garden and plenty of parking.

I booked for 24 people for my granddaughters 18th birthday. We did originally try to book at Wingfield farm only because it is nearer for us but they were very rude when I rang them so I didn’t book and booked with yourselves. It was very easy to book and everything was really professional. The service was excellent especially from Ebony and Amelia, nothing was too much trouble. The food and atmosphere was second to none.

If you fancy a carvery, then Red Sails is the place to go. The daytime offer of a small Carvery & desert is £8.50 is very good value. With a choice of beef, pork, turkey, gammon or a vegetarian option, this is a good place to go if you fancy a Sunday lunch during the week.

I've not visited here for a while as the food/service started to dip due to staffing issues (lockdowns etc). It's a convenient place to visit for me as it's on the route home so tonight we decided to give it another try and I'm so glad we did. I hadn't booked and it was teatime on a Saturday but we were seated quickly. The staff were welcoming and I requested a GF menu, unsure if they'd have one or it might be an allergen tablet 🙄, but I was really surprised to be given an actual GF menu with loads of options! For the first time since I've been diagnosed with Coeliac and eaten out I had a three course meal! Prawn Cocktail to start with a slice of GF bread, Cowboy Burger for main and Chocolate Fudge Cake for dessert. Kids ordered off the kids menu and had chicken nuggets, carrots and chips the other ordering sausages, mash and beans. Parents both had the carvery. All of our food was great, both carveries were plentiful and my dad's only quibble was not enough meat, mums was her gammon was too fatty which it was to be fair. I felt really at ease eating GF here, the staff seemed really knowledgeable and it was really busy tonight, great atmosphere and really clean. There are several highchairs stacked right outside the toilet area, overlapping the ladies entrance, I only mention this as I tripped slightly coming out so I'm not sure if this is a temporary thing but if it's permanent I'd suggest moving them as they take up a lot of room in a small area especially when your trying to maintain some distancing. I've taken a photo of the GF menu as I was really impressed with the selection and the blurb at the top.

I had the Sunday roast from the Carvery and the food was delicious. I am African so most of the food I have in the UK aren't always to my taste but I've dropped by the Carvery twice in one month because of how good the food taste. I have also recommended it to others. The environment was warm, neat and the workers friendly. I had a great time and got value for my money.

This was a meal with friends. We chose a less busy time and weren't disappointed. We were welcomed in and chose our table. We were served promptly and the 3 meals were delicious. We were never made to feel rushed even when it started to get busier. We had a lovely relaxed couple of hours (which flew by) enjoyed a main and desert (and a soft drink). We are already making plans for our next time.

Visited today with my friend and the food was amazing so shoutout to the kitchen staff! Really nice place to eat and the staff were amazing. Our server Ebony was so lovely and made nothing feel like too much, we were served initially on the till by Ellie who was instantly welcoming and so friendly when ordering. We will defiantly be back!

First time we came we was impressed. This time we was just as happy! Seated us straight away, made us aware they were stopping food at half 7, even though it was half 6 when we arrived. The carver was a lovely chap and really chatty and friendly. Staff behind the counter was lovely too. With being new to the area we have used a couple of other places local and always find one very busy & on a limited menu, and the others food is diabolical. So I think red sails will be our new go-to!! The dauphinoise potatoes are beautiful aswell! Cannot recommend you enough! Thank you

I had a couple of pots of tea because my daughter is at the Hospital. Because parking is so expensive I'd rather pay to be a customer at red sails. Service and atmosphere was lovely. I'll definitely be back. Thank you.

Great service especially from a lady called Mel! What a gem! She offered us desserts and further drinks after our meal. Couldn't be more helpful if she tried and she is very upbeat! I also had an allergy which I was concerned about but she reassured me all the contents of the food and it really made me feel I could just enjoy my experience. Thank you. She is a real asset to your staff. I will 100% be back again and recommend to my friends and family

Last minute decision to call in this evening to get something to eat. Opted for the Steak Night deal and upgraded to the 8oz Sirloin. It was a good choice, cooked to order as requested and tasted great. Not the normal choice for us (steak) in a chain pub, but this was exceptional. Great meal at a great price, thanks Gavin and team. 5*

Excellent service! The lady managing tables was really efficent. The waitress confirmed our meals before setting the table. We was placed near the kids play area as requested so they could play within our view. Food was great! Very pleased

Fantastic experience. We had actually had a booking at another carvery in the city but after a terrible experience we left and came here. Needless to say we won’t make that mistake again and will make Red Sails our first choice. Good service, hot, fresh food. All in all a great experience
