Usually love it here for my children. But last night I thought the service was a shambles and when I politely said when paying a nearly £200 bill, Ian said yeah we're short staffed, what more do you want me to do.... whilst walking away shaking his head and storming into the kitchen. We arrived at 4:45 and our mains took over a hour and then we thought we would chance the puddings which took over half an hour, we received apple pie and custard on a side plate. And despite the server passing us the puddings not one dinner plate got moved. Walking around you could see the whole restaurant was in the same boat but majority of tables was empty, it was probably the quietest it's ever been but service still shocking. Working in hospitality myself, communication to the customer prior and an apology would of made us feel more in the loop, but walking out feeling like we couldn't put our expierance across I think is disgusting.

We went for breakfast quite early knowing it would be quiet. There was a workman there when we arrived it just looked like he was fitting something, we had paid for our meals we had two young children with us (5 months and 2.5 years) my little boy struggles with loud noises, the worker then started doing drilling work not very far from the table also to add he had ear defenders on! One staff member came over to apologise and said they had no control over when they came. The manager kept his head down the whole time my son was in distress I went outside to try calm him which they could see me pacing with him to calm him, he wouldn't eat I also couldn't eat trying to calm him we tried to sit outside then swarmed by wasps (also could still hear the drilling) I had to play something on my phone at full volume to drown out the noise just to try and calm him. What an awful experience and on top of that it's really difficult to even find where to put a formal complaint in and when you try call no one picks up 👍

On arrival, asked to scan the covid QR code and taken to the table to be seated. It is all table service. Masks to be worn while manoeuvring inside and removed once seated. Everything looked clean and tidy and all precautions taken seriously. Friendly staff and the food was good.

My meal was good but my daughters gammon was all fat and had to get it changed, had a 40 minute wait for granddaughters ice cream when it came was nothing like the picture on the menu Only one bar staff trying to take food and drink orders during a busy lunch time On the whole a good place to take children and eat, would definitely give it another try.

Fantastic value for money, quality of food and friendly service! We were greeted with a warm welcome and a friendly service. We even had our own welcome party and farewell feathered friends. 🦚 This was a family Christmas get together, we chose here based on the variety of choice and the value for money. The restaurant was clean and tidy for such a busy Sunday service. Plenty of tables were full, but this didn't affect the availability or quality of the carvery and other dishes. Portions were generous and my carvery absolutely delicious 😋 Every single member of staff were friendly and welcoming, being helpful while accommodating our large group. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

Looking a little tired these days in here now. When we visited it was quiet but a lot of places are like this since covid times. Food has dropped in portion size and quality a little too. I had a Yorkshire pud meal but most of the surface area was devoid of filling. It was nice enough but a little more mash and peas at least required here chaps!

I visited on 17/09/22 at 4:15 with my partner, step son and my sisters family! When we arrived the young staff was rude and ignored us when we asked if it was possible to sit down stairs. They then went on being rude for the rest off our visit. They gave us the children’s menu without the crayons so it meant the children became agitated until the staff eventually gave us them. We then ordered our food and it came out rather fast when the food arrived it wasn’t hot it was almost cold all the burgers bread buns was stale there was hardly any flavour to the food it was just slung on the plate it was awful. My sisters burger was supposed to come with onions it came with one slice off onion. My partner had the ultimate Yorkshire pudding with sausages In they was clearly left from the breakfast and re used. My step sons food was on another level it was disgusting the chicken pops was burnt hardly any chicken in them. Beans just slung in to his plate all over his chips. All The food had clearly been prepared earlier on and left as every meal did NOT taste fresh. We was not asked once during our meal if everything was okay it’s like the waitress was ignoring us. We also got the refill diet cokes they was even bad as they had no taste as the flavouring had run out! As a table we spent £80 and it was so disgusting we will never be returning again and at a time like this where the cost off everything is going up they need all the customers they can get! The only praise I have about this visit was that the elderly waitress she offered us complimentary deserts we declined as the food was that bad we didn’t want to eat anything else from there. She was the only pleasant staff member that we came across! So at all cost AVOID this pub!!!

Great spot for Breakfast, plenty of options for cereals, muffins, pancakes, pastries and toast. They offer a full English breakfast with vegetarian sausage and bacon (wouldn't recommend the bacon, it was like a dogs chew). Also offer a range of juices, tea and coffee. Can't go wrong for £9.99 per person. Booking necessary on a weekend as it gets really busy!

This was such a huge place, set out very nice with lots of spacious grounds as it had a premier Inn attached to it. The food was lovely but we found there wasn't much on the menu but the meals were nice and not pricey. There was a little park for the children to play on and outdoor seating area nearby. There was also an outdoor patio/balcony area to sit outside aswell and you could eat there too. Lovely pub, friendly staff and very scenic

Went for Breakfast, at a busy Time....managed to get me a table as just by myself, staff were very busy making sure everything was well stocked up so no one was waiting for anything, tables cleared and cleaned quickly & efficiently. Would visit again, everything I needed food was nice and good value for money. Credit to Ian (I think) and his team. Thank you

Starters were overcooked especially the mac and cheese balls which I was looking forward too. Mains were OK, k had the mixed grill but the steak wasn't medium as I asked was tough as old boots. service was good and staff were friendly. atmosphere was fine.

Came to Home farm today for mums 80th surprise meal with some family and friends. As a family that visit here many times throughout the year I cannot understand the bad reviews! Yet again we had a lovely time great food great service, can’t ask for more. We have come on Christmas Day the last two years too and even then and despite being very busy I can’t find fault with it. If I have to rack my brains to think of any bad times I can probably come up with maybe two or three occasions over several years where there was slight issues but then nothing major. I think the worst of them was just after reopening from lock down, bit disappointed with the food but staff still great even then and given the timing can’t have much of a complaint. On one occasion i remember my elderly dad was taken poorly there and the manager and staff couldn’t have been better. Went over and above the call of duty to support us. This sort of thing keeps us coming back time and again. Would recommend to anyone and do so. Thanks for making my mums 80th a special day guys. We will see you very soon again.

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Very much family orientated My 4yr old had a good time on the climbing frames.. The food was of good quality if a little expensive..plenty of car parking space in an excellent setting.

Sunday lunch booking for 6 adults and 2 high chairs. We were not told on entry that we had to record our registration numbers to avoid a parking fine, so 3 vehicles are expecting fines now. We were shown to our 6 seater table and brought two high chairs which we then spent some time trying to squeeze into the limited spaces around the table. The restaurant was empty, there were plenty of other tables and we had pre-booked so it’s not as though they were trying to squeeze our party in at all. We all opted for the carvery. It was up there with the worst I’ve had. We were some of the first to the carvery as they start serving at 12 and that was the time we booked for and sat down. The veg was dry, some was burnt and hard. It was really not good. The gammon was nice, but extremely fatty. The beef was over cooked and chewy. The carver was polite and friendly. Not too sure what the other front of house staff do, as the carvery is serve yourself and so are most of the drinks. They were often just stood around, unusual for a Sunday shift in a pub. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and is on lovely grounds, but I would not recommend the carvery at all. Hopefully their main menu meals are better.

Worse steak and chips I’ve eaten. Asked for it medium and it was well done. Smelt like liver. Member of staff brought me my food but no knife and fork! Parking is horrendous as loads of workman vans there taking up two spaces. Place has no atmosphere at all. Avoid and walk into hessle. Only reason I ate here was I’d been driving for 5 hours.

Went there on Saturday around 2pm. Not too busy, lovely soft play area for kids with a separate baby and toddler section, outside garden with kids play area too. Good food, good service, clean. Great price for kids menu deal.

6/8/23. Booked a table for 11 and asked for large table downstairs so we could keep an eye on children in the lovely play area. Unfortunately that was all that was lovely. Most of the staff were not friendly at all and tables were sticky and not clean . The food wasn’t bad but expensive for what you got but the worst was the downstairs toilets , they were honestly disgraceful. Might try upstairs with just adults (if there’s a next time , )just to see if its any better .

What a nightmare place… cold, dated with miserable staff, not surprisingly really with their mad system of order only at the bar for everything, meaning long queues and disgruntled customers… avoid and go to McDonalds …basically pig swill…!

Where do i start ordered food for 12 people 4 kids and 8 adults waited a while as expected for 12 people. Food arrived and 3 of the meals were dreadful as you can see from the photos the avocado from 2 salads was off so they offered chip's as a substitute knowing that they had no more avacado. Then the childs burger then turned up more like a hockey puck as the bun was that hard it was inedible. So we complained to the staff and a new burger and chips was ordered. The manager Ellis obviously knew about this but made zero attempts to come over or apologise leaving his staff to sort it out in my eyes zero management skills. We had all finished eating and waited 10mins and the burger and the chips turned up. Totally too late and unwanted and still no management skills to sort it out. Next the deserts turned up banana pancakes guess what no bananas. When we asked the staff it was oh we havnt got any. Absolutely useless the worst chain meal we have ever had. Thanks Ellis for your skills in the situation another brewers fayre customer never to return.

A good wide choice of beer, good selection of ciders and wide range of wine options. The food is excellent and reasonably priced with a good menu with plenty of options, good choice for vegans and vegetarians. The pub is very nicely decorated and a cosy place. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nice large car park.

I regularly pop in for lunch when visiting my works office and its menu offers a lot of choice. Loved their cauliflower cheese for 99p last Christmas and their chips are amazing. Always quick service even during the lunch rush. Great staff.

Our sons booked a table for fathers day for a late lunch. We were disappointed that they didn't have any Sunday lunches left. The only disappointment was the steak was very fatty and grizzly, and not enough staff on. The other food was fine. So when it's father's/mother's Day, could you not get extra staff on and have Extra Sunday roast meals for people who book for a later time, that would be good customer service.

Went for a meal for one of the kid's birthday. Booked to sit downstairs as there is a good sized play area to keep them busy, even got drawings when we came in for them to colour in. Lots of room upstairs for a quieter visit. Paid £5.99 for the kids 3 course meal, which they all enjoyed and ate before going back to play. Went for the 2 for £10.99 meals for us (need to order before 6pm on a weekday). Came relatively quick and was a very nice meal, no complaints from either of us. Probably the cheapest meal out we have had and the play area, to keep the kids busy, was a bonus. Definitely coming back!

Cheap and cheerful as they say. Food is okay, nothing special but we always enjoy it. Food is served fairly quick and staff are always friendly. The space is always clean and tidy. My son likes the outdoor play area and sometimes there are peacocks from the neighbouring businesses park which he also loves to sit and watch.

We were sent a deal for one free meal from the festive menu. We booked lunch for three. Arrived on time and taken to table immediately. Quickly checked the menu before ordering at the bar. Seen immediately and order taken. We had turkey meal, salmon, Beef Wellington, Christmas pud, sherry trifle, choc orange sundae and soft drinks. Didn't wait too long for main meals. All hot, tasty and well presented. Wife complained that there were too many potatoes! I missed roast parsnips that were not included. The desserts were large, except for Christmas pudding that was small in comparison. Overall, a very pleasant meal at a very reasonable price, with very good customer service. The festive menu is highly recommended.

Very disappointing. Service was a shambles. Staff didn’t seem to know what was happening. Food arrived hap hazardous and only 1 child meal arrived and had to wait a further 20 minutes for the rest to arrive. It wasn’t busy, in fact it was very quiet and so no excuses can be made that they were understaffed or run off their feet. Quality of food also very poor and very sparse. Would not come back to this place again to eat. Pleasant for a drink and they do have a nice selection of beers. Food wise it is a shocker and what can only be described as out of a box and I can get that from a supermarket at half the price.

We were just of the Rotterdam to Hull boat, so breakfast was important. We were greeted by a friendly manager who explained the possibilities and prices. It was essentially a no fuss experience and we were glad of a decent cuppa and some good food. We were even entertained by the peacock preening itself outside. Pleasant and recommended experience.

Sadly staff are unaware that they have a Gluten free menu and what they can provide. Was only after spoke to a manager was offered a None gluten menu 🤦‍♀️ Some unfortunately do not know the Vital and important difference between gluten free and Vegan 😡🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Poor customer service, was only after multiple times and a complaint we had one member of staff come and do a check back on food, as initially given food I couldn't eat! Had to chase food multiple times also which is never ideal. Dirty tables and unkempt areas, even needed up cleaning our own table in the end. Understandably it's a busy time but it was somewhat quiet on our attendance, but somethings like understanding the importance of food intolerance and immune disorders is not excusable..

Excellent menu and very reasonably priced. We'd booked a table but was quite quiet. One of the party had allergies and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will be visiting again.

Normally we like it here. But today the food was not very good. The Beef and ale pie states it comes with creamy mash. It was smash and very small portion more for a child. Kids pizza and chips looked like it had been just though on the plate. And Service was very slow and no one came to check if our meals was ok.
