Horrible
experience.
I
purchased
an
awning
from
this
company
via
eBay,
but
returned
it
within
the
same
week
at
my
own
expense
in
the
original
packaging
and
item
itself
unopened.
Following
receipt
of
the
awning
John
Coopers
of
Scunthorpe
decided
to
give
me
a
partial
refund
of
£1000,
rather
than
the
full
£1149
I
paid,
with
the
reason
for
the
random
£149
deduction
being
that
they
had
to
‘check
the
awning’
when
it
arrived
back
at
the
warehouse
-
as
if
this
isn’t
their
job
to
check
returns
and
restock
their
own
shelves!
***Their
decision
to
deduct
£149
from
my
refund
was
without
discussion
or
any
prior
consent
or
sign
off
from
me
as
a
buyer.***
I
messaged
them
and
struggled
to
make
sense
of
their
replies,
which
were
hard
to
read
with
no
grammar
or
rationale
that
I
could
recognise.
I
also
called
the
shop
direct
and
spoke
to
staff
who
were
as
helpful
as
a
chocolate
teapot.
I
left
my
name
and
number
twice
so
I
could
be
updated
and
have
a
manager
call
back
to
sort
a
resolution.
Nobody
even
bothered
to
call
me
back.
With
no
basic
customer
service
being
shown
I
raised
the
issue
with
the
eBay
dispute
team
who
found
in
my
favour
within
the
same
morning
and
refunded
the
£149
I
was
owed
within
six
mins.
In
eBay’s
reply
to
me
they
strongly
suggested
that
I
report
the
Seller
for
investigation
to
the
policy
department
and
sent
me
a
link
to
do
so.
I
have
already
done
this,
in
order
to
hopefully
stop
this
happening
to
anyone
else
in
future.
To
be
clear,
eBay
policy
does
NOT
state
that
you
are
unable
to
open
the
external
packaging
of
an
item.
How
else
are
you
supposed
to
identify
what
is
in
a
brown
cardboard
box
or
decide
if
you
want
to
keep
the
item
in
question,
never
mind
complete
a
returns
form
that
sits
inside
the
box.
John
Cooper
is
wrong
to
suggest
this
is
the
case,
never
mind
use
it
as
a
weak
excuse
to
withhold
£149
from
me
by
making
up
after-sale
charges
to
suit
himself
and
disregarding
my
basic
consumer
rights.
The
treatment
from
this
company
has
been
so
very
concerning
-
even
more
so
now
that
they
are
threatening
me
with
a
libel
case
because
I
am
highlighting
their
actions
on
this
Google
review.
I
wouldn’t
wish
to
be
entangled
with
a
company
who
treat
me
like
like
this
again
and
I
feel
since
I
received
the
latest
unpleasant
response
on
here
that
it’s
important
to
share
this
with
others.
Finally,
please
be
warned
and
please
be
wary
-
this
company
would
have
walked
away
with
my
£149
if
they’d
had
their
way.
