Always leave here with market bags of fresh vegetables, ground provision and fruits. I walk and compare prices and freshness, I have a couple stalls that I always stop at to get the necessary produce, all in all a good stroll among stalls of fresh produce and different characters as they beckon you indulge in their offers. Here is where my Saturday mornings start, rise early before the sun and take advantage of the freshness that the market has to offer and leave before the sun peaks.

The place to buy your ground provisions. Thursday is wholesale day when vendors purchase food items for resale. The handcart men were busy cautiously and skillfully negotiating the narrow passages with carts full of purchases to transportation for the vendors. Everything..... Almost everything you need can be purchased in the market from a pin to and anchor

I would always go to the market with my mom and I loved it. You can get the freshest fruits and vegetables at the market. The prices are much lower than the prices in the Supermarket and you will definitely get a deal for your money.

Downtown Kingston Market is always busy. Shop early to avoid the crowd. Very affordable fruits, vegetables, and clothing. Everything you need is sold here, bargain for a good deal. Be careful do not use your phone or carry large amount of cash. Delicious street food and restaurants here.

I go to this market every Thursday. Thursdays and Saturdays are the times that the fresh produce comes in from the country. People are fair and honest. One point of warning do not wear any jewelry and keep a tight hold of your phone and money. Most people are very helpful, but occasionally with crowds people look to take what is not theirs.

A very good place for fresh produce and eve meat. Be prepared to walk around to get the best prices available. Early Saturday is usually persons favourite time. However some do go on a Friday too. They are open every day!

Coronation market consider Thursdays as “market day “that’s when fresh vegetables are carried in from other countries to sell there. Sometimes the prices are high. Sometimes it is low, but sometimes you can get a special deal on half of the vegetables you are looking for. It is not a area where you should bring jewelries Arashi because people wondering in the market trying to rob people and hurt people so when you are visiting coronation market, you must visit safely and be safe because it’s not a safe area.

Depending on what time you go there, it might be dirty (it's usually alot cleaner in the early morning). Prices are alot less than uptown places and you're more likely to find everything you need if you take a stroll. Be careful of your belongings as it's a busy place and busy places tend to attract alot of theft. The people are persuasive, don't buy anything if you don't need it. And lastly, use the restroom before you travel there as I don't think it's wise to go with a full bladder or bowel.

Visited at 5 a.m. for the first time. Market was reasonably lit but as the vendors had their tarpaulins up to ptotect them when the sun came out, the visibility in some areas was not so good (to me) at first. As there were more vendors than shoppers at that time the reckless handcart pushers were hardly seen. Most things were $100 per lb. including yam. Tomatoes $80. Carrots $200 - $250. Oranges $400 - 600 per doz. Very pricey was some large ripe June plums for $400 - $500 per dozen. Anyway got younger green ones to make juice for $150 per doz. Got my roasting breadfruit for $150 - a nice lady saw that I didn't have a clue which one to choose so helped me to pick out a good one and actually ran down the price the vendor was asking for it....appreciated that. Will go again next week to buy larger amounts before the Christmas prices set in.

More so one of the best markets to get any thing that you need for day to day survival but the congestion is awful and some of the service providers are not very nice... All in all a great place to shop!

A very culteralistic and interesting place to shop. Both the vendors and comes here to sell or shop from different regions of Jamaica brings their own special way of speaking and believes makes it a wonderful place to shop.

Great place to shop on a Thursdays and Saturdays for your ground provisions, vegetables and more. Prices are reasonable that supermarket or roadside. Ensure you wear a sneaker and have your shopping bags. If don't have bags you can purchase on spot.

Variety of local farm goods was excellent even got seasonal fruits all organic as the islands volcanic soil produces tasty foods. Areas were clean, basically maintained and vendors were pleasant . No "harber sharking" in Jamaican terms. (Translation- not harassing )

If you don’t wish your pocket to loose drastically, you must visit this place for your personal household items like vegetables or fish or meat as well. Other items are also sold at a reasonable price here.

Although the government has tried to maintain a bit of stability for the market vendors, providing a common shelter, many of the vendors don’t comply with this. So, they are outside of the provided shelter and it’s difficult for consumers to walk comfortably while shopping. Also, there is clearly no cleaning maintenance being done there, which is bad for both vendors and shoppers. Nevertheless, you are able to get all the produce you need at very reasonable prices whenever they are in season!

Great place to buy local in-season fresh produce at reasonable prices. However, one downside is that given the current pandemic many shoppers/vendors are not wearing masks. Wear masks & face shields to keep yourselves safe!

It was an entertaining and educational experience. Seeing how the cartmen and vendors skillfully maneuver the carts and peel the pines and cut the cane at their stalls in the market. Also, the aroma from the fruits and vegetables was something to inhale.

This is the place to be if you love fresh produce. If you have allergies, then I recommend you wear a mask as the market tends to be a real trigger spot. Also if you don't like crowded space I recommend you shop early saturday morning or Friday evening as traffic is usually lighter during these times

Excellent location to complete all of your purchases! The majority of people are friendly, and you'll get excellent assistance if you ask for directions or need assistance finding a bus or taxi. DON'T use your phone or leave your personal belongings in extremely crowded areas. (This is common sense)

Coronation market; it's vibrant, and colourful. Yes!. They 're improving the looks of the market, yes!. It's hard to handle at times, a lots of foot trafficking, and push cart, the place can be very crowded as well, and very busy too. Always observe your surroundings as well. I would say, you can spend at least an hour in the market; there are variety of farmers selling different food stuff there. Ground provisions are very expensive too, not to mention escallion gone up $200 per lb, and tomatoes $300 per lb, sweet peppers $400 - $500 per lb. Sometimes I feel like there are running with the supermarket side, and side

I much prefer to go to the market in the evening as there is less crowd and easier parking etc. But some ppl inside that the earlier the better... Sale out time works well for me, in and out under an hour and no sunburn

For me as a caterer Coronation Market Jamaica is one of the best places to get your farm fresh produce at reasonable and affordable prices. For persons who want small amount of produce for household use can visit on Mondays and Thursday for the freshest of produces while if your a caterer like myself the best day for you is Sunday evening from 3pm -7pm the latest

Fresh produce Able to meet with higglers and farmers always a pleasure making small talk Prices of goods are high - so is the cost of living, don't take it out on the farmers Always loved visiting Coronation Market, as a child with my parents, and as an adult with my children or by myself 😊

Needs proper infrastructure development however the vendors have all you need at reasonable prices something you won't be able to get in supermarket. Collective bargaining is a thing between buyers and sellers

  • 5/5 Caloo P. 5 months ago on Google

I enjoy going to Coronation Market. People beautiful, helpful, jovial, laughter plenty. Real fun going to the market. Problem, the authorities need to clean and collect the garbage regularly. Roads are terrible. Need better policing in the area.

Good prices but needs extensive cleaning and sanitation.

  • 4/5 Mickalia H. 2 years ago on Google
The prices were great when comparing with the time we are in as it relates to agriculture. It was a little bit packed for my liking, cause we are in COVID and not everyone was wearing masks. For parking, I don't know, you can leave your car one place and when your ready to leave, it's hard, because other cars lock you in spot.

  • 3/5 Suzette W. 2 years ago on Google
Prices were good. However, a lot of patience is needed to navigate the space. Higglers still spread their produce on the ground instead of on the concrete stalls made for them. This limits the walking area....but then again a part of the market experience is shouting out 'hot water, hot water, let me through...'

I visited the market on Thursday, March 24, 2022 and it was bountiful. Fresh, fresh food, fruit and vegetables of all description. All the vendors I related with that day were more than pleasant.

Great place place to get fresh produce at a decent price(though they due fluctuate from time to time). Safety is decent if you use your common sense, like don't wear flashy jewelry and clothes that will draw draw the wrong attention. So to summarize, great place to find any thing you want at a decent price so pay attention to your surroundings, use your common sense and shop happily 😊.

Food prices are competitive Thursdays from 4:30 pm. Yam, sweet potato, string beans, tomatoes, escallion, carrots, pumpkin, cabbage were sold at $50/lb. Prices varied in the market. Green bananas sold at $50/doz. There were many food items in the market. Bargain prices are availableThursday evenings on many items.

If you got allergies, you gonna a need a mask and glasses/shades. The mixture of the different spices, foods etc will cause you to sneeze repeatedly and your eyes and nose runny. Overall, it's a good place to get fresh produce.

  • 5/5 Leroy M. 1 year ago on Google
It is best to get there early. There you will get the freshest produce at very good price. The best pumpkin , yams to peas and beans to fruits and vegetables. Great place to shop. The sellers are very interesting.

🤣🤣🤣 I have to laugh as a coping mechanism as Coronation market is stressful, hot and crowded depending on the day in the week. However, if in need of good prices for local and imported goods then it's a sure place to be. At the end it will leave you sapped and sticky in need of a good shower.

  • 4/5 Nahbi C. 1 year ago on Google

Inexpensive produce but scary. Everybody who I asked to go with me to coronation market was afraid to go. They say I should be afraid, I did have to pay someone to watch the Audi while I was gone. I feel like theives we're lurking. I kept my and my companies personal belongs close and in site at all times. It's not how I want to live. Why not post a police officer there. "Miss Jamaica" I love you, but do better. I know you can.

  • 4/5 Andre “SwagDre” B. 2 years ago on Google
Coronation Market is still the best market in Jamaica where you can get all fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, peas, yams etc for your household. There's nothing like fresh whole foods to feed the family. It's filled with people all the time hustling to get there stuff or those selling their produce.

  • 5/5 ATT 1 year ago on Google
A true slice of Jamaica. Busy with vendors and even busier pushcart operators. Watch your back and feet or you might get run over or lose some toes. Fresh produce everywhere with a wide variety of goods. Freshly picked fruits and vegetables, the root vegetables with the beautiful color of the red earth still clinging to the skin. Pumpkin 6 to 7 inchs thick, yum! Peas and beans, roots medicines, dry goods, pots, pans, and all manner of household products. Don't flash your cell phones or hand bag and you will be all right.

This is where you can buy all your ground foods, vegetables and more, outside nearby is lots of clothes. Too congested though, small space for vendors and spoil vegetables smell all over. NEED MORE SPACE!!!

  • 4/5 Brandon N. 3 years ago on Google
Fresh fruits, fresh ground provisions, warm atmosphere. It's a little noisy but a little noise won't hurt your ears. The beauty of this place is that you the buyer can choose who to buy from and if you don't like the price you switch to another seller. Freedom of choice.

  • 3/5 Alex B. 1 year ago on Google
I'd advice that u go hear with as little valuables as possible, keen to open your eyes and observe your surroundings. Outside of that the place offers very fresh produce at competitive prices.

  • 3/5 Owen M. 1 year ago on Google
If you shop around, you will get good prices. The vendors also are mostly pleasant and receptive. As always, the environment always need improvements.

  • 3/5 Rennay M. 1 year ago on Google
It's definitely a very dirty market compared to markets in other cities like Savana la mar. The customer service also varies from vendor to vendor but my rule is always to shop with people who are pleasant or neutral... cyah deal wid the ignorant or arrogant ppl. You can get good quality produce but you have to search and be very picky about it... don't spend your money too fast. All in all, prices have skyrocketed over the years though. For example, 1 lb of onion can cost as much as $300 jmd. I'm not even exaggerating bcuz I just went to the market last Sat Jan 28, 2023, and the price for onions ranged from $200-300 jmd per lb. 🙃 Yam prices weren't too bad ($120 per lb) and tomatoes were around the same price. Sweet potatoes are super expensive though 😫 @220 per lb. It's worse than onions bcuz you can buy just 1 lb of small onions and survive but sweet potatoes are a staple so you tend to want 3 or more lbs.

Big and busy marketplace Downtown of Kingston. You can find pretty much everything you look for here. If you're not local the risks of getting scammed are quite big so make sure you know the real prices before you buy and/or go there with a local.

he prices was reasonable, the market was surprisingly clean with no putrid odor. I was however unable to get white yam to purchase. But I settled for yellow yam.
