The most disgraceful surgery in the world… this surgery should not even be allowed 1 star. They are appalling!! Never get an appointment over the phone.. they lie and say call at 8am but as soon as 8am comes, they take all phones off the hook so they show user busy.. while sit around and natter to each other over breakfast while people like myself need help and have been trying to get an appointment for weeks! I really hope this rubbish surgery gets closed down and someone capable running a surgery takes it’s place. Absolute rubbish staff on front desk, very rude. They all need replacing…. Rubbish system in place to help vulnerable people. Never ever manage to get an appointment over phone.. ever! Disgusting!

I like the gp's at this surgery they are normally very helpful the problem is getting to see them as there are never any apointment. The receptionists can be very rude at time and never pick up the phone. I made a phone call to them after waiting for 45mints with the message that my phone will be answered next i decided to drive down to the surgery and they where just chatting away with no one waiting and my call was still on hold... when you get though on the phone there are no apointment and pre bookable ones are 5 to 6 weeks away....since covid times there service has gone really down hill, the hospital have returned back to normal with apointments and even visiting times are back to normal at hospital yet this surgery still blames everything on covid.. they have no care for there paitents very disappointing.

Just like in the Hunger Games "may the odds forever be in your favour". Sadly though you haven't got a chance with the telephone system. First call number 5 in the queue. Then it goes dead. Then 50 minutes of calls none of which connect. Last time I got an appointment was 35 minutes in a queue to join a second queue. Good luck anyone trying to get an appointment. Also amazing is that when you talk to them face to face they don't listen. They don't understand the law and interesting how many secretarial staff hang about when you complain.....maybe they'd be better off answering the phones!

Called 77 times to finally through to being caller 21 waited 35 minutes to be told there are no appointments, but they wanted me to make an appointment in the first place 🤬you can't, I even went to surgery to book one to be told you have to call on day for an appointment, why you can't get through then when you do appointments all gone, seriously need to revise your system, ended up with anxiety attack and chest pains from the stress of it all, give up with the NHS waste of time you pay national insurance for nothing. I asked about putting in a complaint they said put it in writing, well here it is, you make people ill with all the stress do something about your system it doesn't work, it's appalling !!!

Absolute joke of a doctors. Phoned 92x between 8 and 9 for the phone to just say “line busy”. Finally manage to be put in a queue at 9.30 where there is 6 people ahead of me. An hour and a half later they finally answer to be told no appointments and to be spoken to Very rudely by Jade on reception. Doctors needs shutting down. Not the first time iv had issues with this gp service.

Called at 8am to book an appointment, very rude receptionst kerry answered the call. Began asking into detail what the issue is even though she is not medically trained & was raising her voice, i said to her 'you are not a dr so i will not go into detail with you. This surgery requries new staff you don't come to work first in the morning with a disgraceful attitude towards patients, lack of patient centred care.

Worst GP on planet earth, they are never there to help or assist so rude over the phone, they found something in my bloods I'm low on a few things and I have to book an appointment to discuss with doctor and get the right tablets I need I call everyday at 8 and all it says is line busy and by time is gets to the middle of the day it says all appointments have gone for today and you can only get an appointment on the same day so how are you meant to get seen??? all they tell me is keep trying and I'm feeling worse day by day all I want is a bit of support, I don't advice anybody to step foot and sign up for this GP, they might aswell not be there.

I would give zero stars if possible. Worst surgery in the world. Can never get an appointment. You call at 8am to try get an appointment and it says busy for 45 mins. Then suddenly all appointments are gone. On Monday morning their phonlines were down but they didn't send a text to inform us until 3pm, so they were doing nothing all day. I urgently needed an appointment after giving birth but they weren't willing to help. Only other option is sitting in A and E for 6 hours , a week after giving birth. There is no point being registered at a GP surgery especially this one. They should be shut down.

Disgusting service. After neglecting our daughter's situation(she is 5 and losing her hearing due to GP not giving antibioticsin the first place), they look me in the eye telling me I can change GP if not happy. I will change my GP and I will be taking legal actions. Can't even trust the doctors. You see 3 doctors about same issue, all tell you something different. To make an appointment, call 8am to be connected by 10am and be told its too late try again next day.

It is impossible to get an appointment, as soon as it turns 8am and you call them all the appointments are gone. I had 3 healthchecks for my famiy yesterday on the phone but after 2 rings they hung up on me every time. I do not reccomend this surgery.

I have been a patient at Steppingstones Medical Practice since it first moved there from Cross Street Health Centre, I am so grateful to all the staff who have seen and dealt with me over the years, since becoming disabled the practice have gone above and beyond to assist me with all my ongoing health issues and referred me to the relevant departments to best assist me, when further specialist care is needed, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of staff at the practice for all there help and although it can sometimes be difficult to get a appointment, in this current climate I believe you are all doing a fantastic job and an asset to the overall health system. You cannot please everyone but be reassured I am so grateful for all you have done for me and my family overall.

Don’t use this surgery as it is NOT FIT for purpose and does not care about patients or their care. We Should have left years ago to be looked after by a medical facility that is actually open and available to assist and treat patients. If I could give it zero stars I would.

This practice must rate as one of the worst in Dudley for patients. Almost impossible to see a doctor, but wait, you can try and get a telephone appointment with your doctor, no that seems impossible too. Two consecutive days of calling at 8am only to be informed all appointments are gone for the day. This is the same practice that messaged me two days on the trot to call them for an appointment. There’s more, frustration continues, after not getting a phone appointment, post man turns up with a letter from the surgery, can you please contact us regarding annual blood test as it’s now due, well guess what, you’ve already had the test results that’s what I’m calling about. So inefficient it beggars belief.

I have been a patient at Steppingstones since it opened it's doors many years ago. During that time I cannot fault the service I have received. I have seen many different doctors over the years and invariably they have dealt with me in a professional and caring way. Whilst I can agree with some of the comments about difficulty in getting an appointment I do not feel that Steppingstones are unique. Virtually everyone I know has the same problem with their practice. Against the backdrop of cutbacks and the way the NHS has declined since 2010 I feel that all the staff at Steppingstones do their best under difficult circumstances. There are only two named GP partners in the practice now and it is inevitable that they are very stretched. I do not recognise some of the comments about rude staff as I have always been dealt with courteously and helpfully. I think that pre-bookable appointments for non urgent issues would be very helpful as it would ease pressure on the difficulties in getting through to someone at 8.00am. Overall I am very satisfied with the service both my wife and I receive from various members of staff at Steppingstones and I thank them for what they do.

Both my wife and myself have always and still do enjoy excellent, quality and straightforward health care from the practice, understandably thing's were occasionally difficult during the COVID period, but otherwise excellent care.

This practise USED to be the best in Dudley, recently it has fallen into the category of being amongst the worst, if not the worst. ....Phone system is badly adapted to the size of the practise. I apologize to Receptionist(s) because they take the flak not the people who need too.I was invited to contact surgery to discuss my complaint phoned could not get through, wrote a letter no response/reply, complaint proven I believe.

My family have been registered with this practice since its inception, many years ago. Although I am no longer a patient as I moved out of the area, I still have regular contact with the practice for both my elderly parents, and my brother who has difficulty conversing due to a stammer. I have to say I have always received a really helpful service from all staff at the surgery, from receptionists who do an amazing job dealing with so many telephone calls and face to face contacts, to the physios, nursing staff and GPs. Dr Rashid has been really helpful today for my brother. It is very comforting to know my family are in a really helpful practice. Thank you to all at Steppingstones.

I would give it zero, this is the worse surgery in the world. You call at 8, line busy, all phones off the hook. When you get through, about 25 mins later, then you are in a queue. Waited again for 45 mins, when I finally got through. Was asked all my details and what was wrong, then told there's no appointments for today. Should be closed down. with me

I rang this morning , got down to number 1 in the call queue after 30 mins of holding. Then I was told my call couldn't be taken and to try again later. There is a blatant disregard for patients, what if it was urgent.. how do you access a surgery these days. Unbelievably bad service

This surgery is the worse I have ever had to deal with cannot get an appointment for weeks the staff are rude and need more training the phone system is a joke you call at 8am cannot get through for 30 mins only to be told that all the appointments are gone and to hold the line to speak to someone and and then they tell you to call back at 8am tommorow sick to death of this surgery NHS need to close it down ASAP one star is way to generous I would make a complaint but I know its a waste of time and they will only give you some excuse.

A "run of the mill" GP surgery. Free parking on the road for around 20 cars and a big car park across the road. Surgery has a large waiting room. Dr's are very thorough and have a good bed side manner. The children's practice nurse is lovely. There is a Boots Pharmacy attached to the building.

This surgery was one of the best ... since the last couple of years...it's been the worst.. you start ringing 8am and you still can't get through and when you do... you dnt get an appointment ..you have start ringing again the next morning ...and when you do get through they decide to disconnect you..and same again and again...you rather go and wait in urgent care and get seen...

Never able to get though to get an appointment. Lines are always "busy" and even if you do somehow manage to get into the queue, you get cut off anyways before moving up in queue. Online appointment booking is no better as by the time want to confirm booking, all appointments are supposedly gone within seconds. Absolutely atrocious. If I could rate lower, I would.

The worst clinical ever. For three months, I am not able for getting the appointment for my four years son; all the time hearing; please call tomorrow at 8 am because we do not have left any appointments for today

You call at 8am and straight away it's engaged or you are in a queue on hold for 30mins or more and then you hear a voice message saying 'sorry we are fully booked for the day'. I also checked the patient access website at 8pm and it said 'no slots are available'. How many appt slots are made available each day? The supply of apts doesn't seem to meet demand.

After an awful experience with a doctor at this surgery I will now be looking for a better GP practise, the doctor breached privacy laws talking about my personal medical circumstances in front of patients in a waiting room & during the appointment he was more bothered about his phone and computer rather than the patient. I will be putting in a breach of data protection claim also .. if anyone is thinking of joining this surgery stay clear!!

I have been to the pharmacy for the first time today and the lady who was in the staff helped a lot to find my kids prescriptions.Unfortunately I couldn't collect my medicines due to GPs error but the service you provided was amazing.I will definitely come again 🙂

Absolutely ridiculous. Been trying all week to get an appointment and they leave the phone engaged on purpose. When i managed to get through after 9am they still don't answer the phone, as I was still the same caller number for over half an hour. It shouldn't take an hour to get from caller number 5 to the next available operator. After 2 hours of waiting no surprise there wasn't any appointments available apparently. I've recently moved to dudley and never had an horrendous experience like this with my previous GP. Called over 33 times on one occasion and over 40 times on another. When i rang in the afternoon i was told there's no appointments left and I should access emergency services, which should only be accessed in life or death situations and we wonder why hospitals are over flowing because of stupid gp places like this. Reading all the other reviews I agree this place needs to be closed down because they're clearly not doing their job and I will be reporting the practice.

  • 1/5 Lisa H. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely a waste of space worst surgery ever they say call 8.00am to get an appointment line busy for 20 minutes then I in a queue for a further 30 minutes now I start work at 8.30 I haven't got time to hang on phone for nearly a hour. Then they say try online appointment at 8.00 p.m but guess what either no appointments or I can't get on. Then they send reminders which you need to make appointment which obviously I can't and when I get to eventually speak to someone they say no appointments I tell them I've been trying for 1 to 2 wks. They don't care. Now today I've had a reminder for a breast screening appointment that I've missed but I haven't i had it done last year so they Really don't check there records DO THEY!!!!! they prefer phone triage call which I'm sorry is a waste of time I want to see a doctor face to face. Absolute waste of time should be closed down.

New to this practice and it’s impossible to get an appointment. 5 days I’ve called at 8am sharp and been on hold for 1 hour and 50 mins… either not taken my call at all or when I finally get thru then to be told no appointments. Physically went in whilst still being on hold. Was 3rd caller for 45 mins and even then even though the receptionist was putting the phone down I was still 3rd position. So clearly they have diverted phones and just not taking them. On arrival was told no appointment and to come at the surgery for 8am if can’t get thru on the phone. Explained I have school runs and said nothing else we can do. Said can book online at 8pm however tried that and only release one or 2 appointments and when I tried booking them it didn’t even allow me to fill the form that’s required to book the appointment and it was gone. I’m not sticking around at this surgery. Only moved as old one was further out but I’m going back to them as atleast I was able to get an appointment when required. Complete joke. Doesn’t deserve even a single star. Should be minus

It almost impossible to get an appointment and any time I walk in it’s empty! I’m convinced the phones are just off the hook.

  • 1/5 Rachel B. 1 year ago on Google
Impossible to get an appointment, even with a life limiting condition the reception staff don't care, think they have the ability to question my urgency, they don't and have absolutely no medical training whatsoever. How the hell can I update my care plan without my GP. My neurologist is even fed up of waiting for me to see someone, myself and children are all changing to st James a much better practice. Would leave 0 stars if it was an option
