I came a cross this place online, and judging by the pictures it seemed like a nice spot to lay. When I arrived I discovered that some of the online puctures did not match up on site. It is outdated, there are breaks and cracks in the room and bathroom walls. The door handle is broke. My booking came with breakfast, but no one made an effort to accommodate me in that respect. The place is not a hotel, it's more of a guest house. With the owner staying on property. The young receptionist was kind and polite, but the older lady, I guess one of the managers, no so much. Perhaps, she grew tired of me coming in late in the morning, resulting in waking her up so she could let me enter the building. Also, the security guards were professional and polite. In all, it wasn't all bad, but it wasn't all good. I will not stay again.

The place is spacious with 6 rooms that take up to 12 people. The garden was amazing and had a really good seating area. The kitchen is fully equipped but water cuts were frequent! Same for the internet abd electricity! Some of the mosquito nets had holes, so make sure that you sleep in the right bed. But overall it was a good value for money

I believe the host is pleasant as she is the one we interacted with online. However, the daughter Olivia who is at the physical location was quite unpleasant as she would complain about the smallest things about us when we were an earshot away. The first group of friends stayed the night before and seemed to have played music really loud - we apologised the next day when we checked in but the anger from that incident continued into the following days (didnt matter how many times we apologised). The next day (on the actual birthday) she made remarks about not hosting “Ugandans ever again” and also said she only allowed us to stay “..because the birthday girl was an Acholi” She said all that and more out loud by the way to us (her guests). These remarks were triggered by the bbq guy using saucepans that she wanted to use to prep food for the next group that was coming the next day. We should be able to use the kitchen to prep our meals as guests no?? I believe she could have been more hospitable and not disrespectful to her guests and also handled the whole thing in a more mature way. I think the owner (her mother) should get feedback from guests separately as I dont believe we are the first to go through that. Her staff also mentioned the same ill treatment as we got along really well with them.

Very nice, relaxing place with fantastic staff! If you want the bustle of a hotel packed with people from around the world, look another place. Instead, Papaya has spacious rooms, lounges, and gardens that are peaceful and quiet and the friendly feel of a family-run facility.

Amazing staff and breakfast. Food had to be a la carte as I was on a short staycation. TV wasn’t working. Beds were well made and rooms were spacious. Really amazing gardens. The door locks need to be checked upon as some don’t open and close properly. Other than that, I liked my stay there. Quiet and peaceful. Has a fabulous library.

Great family place. Good chef and personnel. Reception is so so. During our stay we revommended basic repairs and a working tv for following the news. The reception did not pay the monthly rates .....and the door of the toilet (mentioned by other guests) is still broken.....

Nice place

Papaya has great spacious rooms for a family like ours! It is especially good because of the adjoining children's room. Prices are fair too. Garden is pleasant. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was excellent, though the supper the night before took ages, everything was made from scratch and had to be bought at the market, the kids were knackered after a long drive so that wasn't easy... Otherwise, good find for us!

Ample space and condusive environment

Messed up our stay at Kampala, we had booked at papaya via Expedia, prepaid booking. On arrival we are told we DO NOT work with Expedia. Disappointing.

It's an ambient holiday home in Bukasa road muyenga Kampala Uganda in a very silent relaxing setting,I would 100% recommend it.

We loved our stay! It was my favorite place so far in many trips to Kampala.

The sweetest hosts in town. You'll love your stat with the Papaya Holiday Home. They have a good spread for breakfast and a small menu with options for dinner. Nice, quiet area of Kampala with a climbing wall not too far away. Rooms at Papaya are comfortable and have their own bathroom. Mosquito nets on all of the beds, fans in all of the rooms, and a mini-fridge in some rooms.

Great facility with a most excellent staff. We have stayed here numerous times. The food is outstanding.
