Terau Beach bungalow is a beautiful place to stay in for those visiting Abaiang. Of course, one shouldn't expect 5-star material, given that this is a small resort and that high-level accommodation in Kiribati is non-existant. However, this is as best an accommodation as one can get in Kiribati. Kaboa John, who built this resort, is an incredibly motivated person, always eager to talk about his passions re. Kiribati, his love of land, and the issues relating to food security, and his efforts to address them. The amenities are basic but very satisfactory. Food is also good. One can also rent a bike to explore the atoll, or a motorbike. Travel to and from the ferry/airfield is also provided. All in all a beautiful place which I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Abaiang.

A little piece of paradise overlooking the beautiful lagoon of Abaiang. Kaboua, Tiinai and Beni are great hosts, we had a wunderful stay! The simplicity and local feeling is what makes this place special.

A really lovely spot, great for sunsets! We stayed for two nights and were well looked after, including our dietary needs.

Terau beach is the best relaxing place ideal for families and individual getaways as the staff and the owner are very welcoming and friendly. They also offer the best customer service to all the guests. It is not only a place for relaxing but they also offer the best detoxification program which can transform a very ill person into an healthy one.

Nice place. Not far from the 'jetty' / ferry point (walking distance) and airstrip (5 min. motorbike). Nice bamboo bungalows on the water. Entrance is a bit small and have to climb the hut. Matras on the floor. Chairs also from bamboo so not very comfortable. Toilets and showers are clean and nice. There is a community hall where you can relax, have a good dinner and recharge your telephone all the time. It is 80A$ for a couple incl breakfast. Quite high for a basic but ,but everything has to be brought in from South Tarawa. Very friendly hosts.

Excellent hospitality, the meals are locally produced and prepared which are to die for! The entertainment are cultured with a hint of modern choreography which make it more interesting to watch! If there was more starts to add, I personally would add unlimited due to the experience I went through. No doubt to check this place out, you won't regret!
