5 star price at 3 star quality. At $700 a night you expect a little more, nothing was bad, but also nothing was great. Decent room with thin walls, lots of kids and noise, even at night. Staff are not trained to the level they should be for the price you pay, they are unprofessional, stubborn and sometimes rude (although the staff in the kitchen and dining hall are delightful.) The pool and spa is nice. The highlight of this venue is the food, the dining options are amazing and the dining staff are incredible and ensure that no ask is to much.

What a beautiful hotel this is. I came here for a belated 40th covid lockdown bday stay using a luxury escapes gift voucher. It was worth the two-year wait it took me to finally book. The grounds, the lux furnishings, nice bar… The front office manager/host Maddison and the team gave me a much-appreciated welcome. Having a winter July bday, I had held off and booked for a warmer stay but actually, it was the perfect place for a drizzly visit. Such lovely dramatic views and the undercover pool was gorgeous. I also enjoyed the sauna and spa and got to play some tennis in between the rain. Thanks team, I will def be returning and singing Kirkton’s praises ☺️

It’s so Hampton. (using the name as an adjective here) The interior and outdoors is so English, Vintage, Classic, Serene, Fresh, Clean Air and amazing staff plus food and drinks. Total meditation 🧘. Took the Valley View Room. Well maintained, clean, fully equipped and room service is super fast. Has 2 great restaurants within property. One is Lavish and needs prior booking and the other is casual and just a walk-in. Has a bar that closes late as per reception. Live band too… had an amazing singer last night. Both restaurants are welcoming and has great food. 👍👍 Buffet breakfast lasts till 10:30 am and has plenty options for this era where everyone is on some different dietary plan. Plenty staff around to help you. 🫶🏻 They quite a few outdoor activities for all ages too. Safe and supervised 👍 Although there are plenty estates with good hotel options in the Hunter Valley, my heart was stolen by this one. Planning next stay already 😊. 🌸🦋🦋🌸

This is a lovely, classically furnished hotel. The rooms are spread out on the property in rows of 6 or 8. We opted to include breakfast, and it was an excellent smorgasbord. They had some eggs out, and the usual English breakfast, they would make eggs to order. They even had a juicing machine. There were kangaroos out on their lawns, which was very cool. My only complaint is that the room was very dusty, and the shower had no place to put the shampoo but on the floor. Still a very gracious staff, you are greated with a glass of bubbly, really comfortable bed, beautiful views, and you are close to the wineries in Hunter Valley. I would absolutely stay here again.

We had the best time here! Love this hotel. You have THE best breakfasts too… love the fresh juicer!! But honestly, the view, the staff, the location was totally perfect ! Thank you. Jo-Anne & Joe from Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦

We stayed overnight for a wedding. The hotel was spacious and beautiful and the staff were super helpful and friendly. I just wished we had more time here so we could use their services! Would have loved to pack a picnic and go bike riding, or hangout with family playing jumbo boardgames near the woodfire pizza oven. Buffet breakfast was delicious with a great selection of hot and cold items. And the beds were like sleeping on clouds! Sooo comfortable. Definitely recommend this place and will be keen to come back next time we are in the Hunter.

My husband spoilt me for my birthday with two night stay. From check in with Michelle and our beautiful room with stunning views was magical. Dinner in restaurant outstanding and cocktails in bar was very nice, then breakfast so much to choose from plus chef will make to your order omelette was scrumptious. Can't wait to return.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. The surrounding area and views are wonderful. The room was comfortable, we loved the details. We spent times at the balcony just ‘being’ and enjoying the stunning views. The breakfast is really good and extensive. We also enjoyed diner which was very good. Beside all those great things, there is one thing that really stood out to us: the staff. Every member of the staff that we met anywhere during our stay was so friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond. Your team -everyone included- is really amazing! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again while being on holiday in the area.

Really enjoyed our stay here over the weekend. The property boasts a unique and magical rose garden and is situated in a fantastic part of Polkobin amongst the wine gardens and winding country roads. The service and the rooms were fantastic throughout our stay from start to finish with a lovely buffet breakfast.

Really lovely hotel, reminded me of the likes of Soho house. Gorgeous setting and the grounds are very well kept. Rooms and beds are very comfortable, nice products available and the breakfast is delicious with options for everyone, even a juicer to make your own fresh juice. There were some things missing or that could be improved on, the bar staff weren’t very helpful, we ordered food at the bar and brought it over and quickly left without asking if we needed anything, so I had to go up and ask for napkins cutlery condiments etc, they also weren’t topping up the fire so I did this as well, they seemed to be just hanging around behind the bar talking to each other. There was no mini bar in the hotel room and no movie options. The hot tub was also out of order. Overall lovely place to stay in the Hunter but there are some improvements that could be made.

Stayed for two nights. Great location. Good food & breakfasts. Spa was unavailable due to renovation but beautiful swimming pool. Worth noting that the hotel has outdoor fire pits can sit together drinking beers with friends.

Stayed here for 2 nights with the girls for a girls weekend away. The hotel is beautiful and clean. We checked into our first room and the shower drain was clogged and water went everywhere in the bathroom - so we told the staff and they moved us into another room with no issue. We got the breakfast package deal and the buffet wasn't bad at all. Great location, staff and room. The drive from the hotel to the wineries are around 5-10mins drive max. Highly recommend if you like staying in a hotel. Otherwise, there are other great accomodation at Hunter Valley with great views and privacy.

Loved our stay at this hotel so much. Firstly the interior was so beautiful and when you walk to the back garden and grounds it’s just so beautiful at every single corner! They are dog friendly too so you can bring your paw pal along for the stay. Breakfast was not bad and if you wish you could ask them for the buffet scraps to feed the pigs which are on the premises too (7 minute walk from the lobby) highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed overnight on the Winter Indulgence Package, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the views breathtaking. Our room was clean and beautifully appointed. Greatly appreciated the customer service from Faith, she went above and beyond her duties to make our stay special. All the other staff were also lovely and welcoming (save for the one staff member on checkout unfortunately). Another hiccup was that the “indoor heated pool” which we were looking forward to, was icy cold. However, considering our overall stay, would definitely return.

The building and grounds at Kirkton Park are absolutely stunning. You simply can't fault them. Unfortunately, the staff were generally lovely but far too young and inexperienced for a place which charges you top dollar on the rooms. I understand that they need to gain experience on the job, but there needed to be more of a balance of new and more experienced staff. Beautiful hotel, but expensive and under-skilled. Better options around.

We booked two rooms for two nights and were placed in the Manor House with an amazing view. When making a booking, I mentioned that it was my husband's birthday and he received a lovely gift of a local honey and a very nice bottle of wine with a card. The rooms looked very nice and clean however one of the rooms was a little smelly, perhaps due to some plumbing issues but we didn't make a great fuss as we only stayed for two nights. The whole place looked very nice and clean and the staff was accommodating and friendly. On a different note, some of the staff members are not well informed and cannot provide correct information. I had to make numerous phone calls before I received an answer and on one occasion I was placed on hold indefinitely.. I would rather not to name names but when I called back and mentioned it to the same lady, she simply said OK and didn't bother to apologise. The bar staff was lovely and helpful but sadly the food was not good at all.. The breakfast buffet was very nice though. Overall we had a lovely time and hoping to come back again.
