Everything was fine untill I found pieces of plastic in my dish. Also, the server was attempting to charge us double for a dish that we did not order and refused to deduct the cost. That is not acceptable. Also charged us extra for rice which was supposed to be included in the meal. I would normally settle this with the employees but they were not willing to budge on any of this and refused to acknowledge their faults so it's one star.

We were visiting Cessnock and decided to give this restaurant a go. The food was delicious and authentic.

After being quite a regular customer of Al Oi Thai for some time now, I have to say my family and I were quite disappointed with the quality of food tonight provided by the new owners of the restaurant. Fried rice was very gluggy with a terrible burnt taste, three sisters meat was really chewy, pork and basil: the pork was really chewy and the rind very soggy. I don’t normally leave reviews but was asked by owners to post a review of our opinion whether it positive or negative. Such a shame that the restaurant was handed over. Was in my opinion one of the best I’ve ever eaten from. Always consistently good.

Came in on a Saturday ordered sweet sour and chef’s special red curry both with ling fish - amazing! The flavour, quality of ingredients is top notch and price is very reasonable. Highly recommended

Being from Sydney, I am used to being spoilt for choice with cuisines from around the world. Whenever I go to a country town, I always lower my expectations a bit because there just isn't the population to deliver a wide range of cuisines or high quality foods. To my pleasant surprise though, coming to Roi Thai was an absolute delight. It was Sydney-quality Thai food, in Country N.S.W. - and if there's one thing we have a lot of in Sydney, it's Thai restaurants! Food was excellent, service was exceptional and value for money was great. Would love to come back, the photos definitely don't do it justice!

Fish cakes.very tasty served with a very nice sauce. Satay chicken skewers. Tender moist with a terrific peanut sauce. and jungle beef and jasmine rice. Staff very helpful. Restaurant clean and well set out. Thank you very nice. Highly recommended.

I feel this place may be under new management, their service is absolutely impeccable. Used the app and chose delivery for this evening the lovely lady that delivered our order was even here 10 minutes early now that’s amazing service! I also feel their food has really stepped up really impressed thank you!

Dine in on Saturday night. We have ordered crispy pork belly with Chinese brocoli, ling fish, Oster sauce fillet, and BBQ chicken. Very tasty and good portion with the price comparing to others around the area. The environment is clean and comfortable. Wil recommend to friends and come back again. Thanks.

Very awful dining experience. This restaurant keeps taking online orders and totally ignores the people dining inside the restaurant. We have been waiting for more than 1 hour and half. During the waiting, we asked the staff twice about our order and didn’t get any further updates. In the end, they said they lost our order. Very unprofessional. Also the food is average and overpriced. I will definitely not come again.

Got take away and the food was ready when we got there. Lovely staff and very helpful, patient with any questions we had when checking our order. The food was great!! Recommend the salt and pepper calamari. We will be back ❤️

One of the best thai I've ever had ! Cannot recommend this place enough, I regularly buy takeaway from here over the past 3 years I recently moved and really miss Aloi Thai :( Best dishes in my opinion: - Best panang duck I've ever had - Pad See Eiw (usually get chicken) - Oyster sauce vegetables and tofu - King prawn snow pea OR the prawn chili and basil leaves - Duck pancakes

I went here cuz of good reviews of taste. And saw bad reviews about LONG waiting. Reviews were somewhat true! Waiting for main more than an hour. We've ordered entree, which was served 40mins after. Table next to us, looking like a family, 2 ppl were served, and 1lady was not served till 2ppl finished their meal. It was bad... Taste of food was generally salty and salty. Entree was pretty ok. 2 stars for politeness and atmosphere. I wouldn't come back for food. Sorry.

On a holiday from Sydney, we chose this restaurant for home delivery, and we’ve got a lot of amazing Thai Restaurants near us in Sydney, but this was the best Thai food we have ever had. Yummy fresh, perfectly cooked veggies in all dishes, yummy entrees, and the best Panang Chicken we’ve ever had. Wish we could move the restaurant down near us 😋

Good food good service

Delicious, fresh tasty meals on offer. We had a large group of 12, with varying dietary needs - all catered for, really happy with the service. Do visit if you're in the Hunter valley, I'd rate this place as one of the best Thai food restaurants that I have been to.

First and foremost, please serve the soup at least a bowl for $14, serving is way less. Second of all, please do not vacuum while other customers are having food. Thirdly, please serve the entire items. I had to repeatedly ask for my orders until the end.

Decent portion sizes at around $20/dish. There is a bit of air conditioning indoors as well to hide away from the summer heat. Staff was relatively friendly. And it's always refreshing when they don't try to push you to add additional items to your order. Can't really say there was anything in particular that stood out in terms of being excellent or poor. Just an overall really solid restaurant.

We love the food and the atmosphere. The Filipina wait staff was very friendly and has welcoming personality. Will surely dine in here again in the future.

Came down to Hunter from Sydney for a mini vacation and after only coming across Modern Australian food we were after some real good spicy Thai food for which my partner and I drove down to based upon the reviews. I must say the food here is absolutely authentic Thai with flavour. We were so satisfied having such delicious Thai. The restaurant itself isn’t anything fancy pretty basic but food wise either take away or dine in the taste is spot on. I will definitely try again in my next trip to the Hunter region! I would only say is the price might be slightly higher than expected for dine in but that was the only negative I can think of.

I’ve gotten the Beef Massaman Curry on multiple occasions and the first time I got it I thought the pricing looked a bit high but when the food arrived I was very pleased with the quality of the food and the portion size. So the price is definitely worth it for the quality and portions of food that you get. Would highly recommend At Roi Thai if you love Thai foods. I also haven’t had a bad meal from At Roi Thai so far, very consistent. Thank you

Always excellent for both the food and the service. On only our second visit we were greeted by name. This feat of memory was surpassed only by the food which was really good both times. It's rare to get such good service and so far I have been very impressed.

What can I say other than Yum, yum, YUM! Was fortunate enough to come across this gem of a place. Will definately be going back. I was looking at everyone's plates while I was waiting and they were all going back empty - a great sign! & When I started eating - I knew why. I finished all of mine in one sitting even though I had told myself I'd save some for later... Well I'll be going back later to try some more yummy food instead! Super friendly staff too!

Highly recommend. Rocked up for dinner, ordered the spring rolls - best I’ve had tasted super fresh. Tom yum fried rice And BBQ beef both were delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed dining there.

A very average Thai place for dinner or only good if you like sweetened and peppered Prawn Tom Yum that tastes like sweet kimchi and Aloi Fish that is just daunting sweet. Did you know Thai food 80% of dishes have real chilly in it not cracked pepper?

Authentic Thai taste. The khi mow, especially, was very nice and spicy! Some other dishes like the Tom Yum Prawns had rather small portions (only 3 prawns in the soup). Did not find them worth the money paid. Our food arrived fairly quickly.

Food was excellent, the service was very ordinary, meals took about 2 hours.

We got take away from here. They are very tasty. Price was reasonable. We order through phone and it was ready in 30 mins. Portions were big as well.

Food was okay when it got here but it was really slow and we had to wait over 2 hours with little communication or feedback despite calling several times. Ordered at 8:30 and it didn't arrive until 10:30, well after the restaurant had closed at 10pm.

Food was nice, that's where it ends, The 1hr 30 minute wait to get 3 simple dishes was a joke, the poor staff, the owner had 1 girl crying because so many people walked out in disgust, not.like it was her fault the owners run a joke, of a resturant. They seemed not to care about dine in customer's, take away was not much better 1 guy had waited over 2hrs, and its not like they were super busy, busy yes, but not that busy they needed to have people waiting upto 2hrs, I personally seen 5 tables of people patiently wait to be served, only ro walkout an hr later, a few of laughed and tried to make light of the poor effort, 1 couple i noticed waiting for nearly an hr, they were there before me, I thought they had ordered n were waiting.. but No, when they finally got the menu, only to be told your meals would.be an hr or.more, they too got up and left, a table of 6 were waiting for atleast an hr, when they asked where the meals were, the nice waitress went and asked, she returned only to be very apologetic and tell them thier orders had been lost.. so of course they got up and left... You guys need to learn bad reviews will only cost you business, and learn communication if you were up front amd told dine in customer's they may have to wait for an your or more, then the wait is then thier choice.. If i could have given a Zero rating i would have.. Not happy to say the least, lastly to the owner who made that girl cry, you yhould.be ashamed.of yourself ...

Had to wait 2 hours for food delivery after being told by the manager 45min wait. Called the restaurant 3 times to find out what is going on to kept being told the food is on it's way. 2 hours later, we sit down to our under cooked food around 8.15pm. The manager their was so rude and doesn't know good time management at all.

Expensive place, long wait for food service. Small portion. $23 for a entry and pad Thai. Problem is not much choices in this town.

Best tasting original Thai food I’ve tasted so far, staff is professional and their chef is a star! Price is right, food portions are decent, food is freshly made ( to perfection). Restaurant is very homely, warm colours, nicely decorated and you can have a nice food experience with your friends and family. Plenty of parking outside right in front of the restaurant, nice place to take family and friends, also is kids friendly. I had a wonderful time tonight. Thank you
