Daislyn
Sharpe
and
the
entire
team
at
Carambola
Beach
Club
opened
their
arms
and
their
doors
to
us
and
gave
us
the
wedding
of
a
lifetime.
In
early
2023,
less
than
a
year
after
homosexuality
was
decriminalized
in
St
Kitts,
we
approached
Daislyn
Sharpe
and
asked
if
she
would
be
willing
to
host
our
big
gay
wedding.
To
be
honest,
as
outsiders
from
California,
we
had
no
idea
that
homosexuality
had
been
recently
decriminalized,
or
that
we
had
gotten
so
lucky
in
accidentally
finding
a
fierce
and
fearsome
ally
in
Daisy
Sharpe
and
her
entire
staff
at
Carambola
Beach
Club.
We
asked
her
because
Carambola
is,
quite
simply,
the
most
beautiful
place
in
the
whole
world
that
we
had
ever
seen.
Wouldn’t
you
want
your
wedding
there?
I
could
write
pages
about
the
most
beautiful
wedding
day
that
Daisy
and
her
crew
gave
to
us.
About
a
week
before
the
wedding,
I
realized
that
our
very
out-and-proud
gay
friends
from
San
Francisco
might
clash
with
the
reserved
and
respectful
culture
of
the
community
of
St
Kitts.
To
be
frank,
I
was
concerned
that
my
gay
friends
might
not
get
treated
well
by
some
of
her
staff
and
that
her
staff
might
see
things
(like
boys
kissing
and
dancing
together)
during
our
wedding
reception
that
they
were
unaccustomed
to.
Daisy’s
response
completely
shocked
me!
She
told
me
that
she
had
already
sat
down
ALL
of
her
staff,
given
them
sensitivity
training
about
our
upcoming
wedding,
and
reminded
them
that
everyone
is
welcome
at
Carambola,
that
everyone
deserves
respect,
and
that
all
guests
of
Carambola
are
her
guests
entitled
to
exceptional
and
friendly
service
from
her
staff…
and
if
anyone
felt
differently,
then
they
didn’t
belong
at
Carambola!!!
Now
for
the
good
parts:
*
The
ceremony,
held
on
the
beach
at
Carambola,
was
the
most
beautiful
and
picturesque
wedding
ceremony
I’ve
ever
seen.
Please
look
at
the
pictures
because
words
simply
don’t
do
it
justice.
*
The
dinner
was
SO.
FREAKING.
GOOD!
Daisy
has
a
buffet
menu
option
and
a
table
service
menu
option.
The
best
dishes
(in
our
opinion)
like
the
Surf
&
Turf
(Filet
Mignon
and
Lobster
Tail!)
and
the
Jamaican
Jerk
Chicken
were
on
the
table
service
menu,
but
we
wanted
to
have
a
buffet.
No
problem
for
Daisy!
She
worked
with
us
to
provide
all
of
the
dishes
we
wanted
exactly
how
we
wanted
them!
And
the
food
was
literally
to
die
for!
Just
to
be
clear,
at
our
wedding
people
were
saying
it
was
the
best
food
they’ve
ever
had
at
a
wedding!
It’s
become
a
point
of
embarrassment
now
because
people
come
up
to
us
at
other
friends
weddings
and
tell
us
how
they
wish
they
were
at
our
wedding
again
because
the
food
was
so
good!
*
The
reception
included
a
massive
dance
party
on
the
dance
floor
Carambola
built
on
the
sand
and
a
huge
bonfire
for
those
who
wanted
a
break
from
dancing.
The
pictures
speak
for
themselves.
Oh,
and
don’t
forget
the
fireworks!
Carambola’s
design
includes
a
jetty
into
the
water
that
enabled
the
fireworks
folks
to
set
off
the
fireworks
directly
in
front
of
us
on
the
beach
over
the
water.
It
was
spectacular!
Oh
and
Daisy
was
in
touch
with
us
for
6
months
prior,
checking
in
regularly,
and
she
made
several
recommendations
for
local
vendors
who
we
used.
We
were
in
San
Francisco,
and
having
vetted
recommendations
was
essential
for
our
destination
wedding.
I
simply
cannot
possibly
give
Daisy
(and
her
entire
crew)
high
enough
compliments
for
what
they
created
for
our
wedding.
If
you
are
planning
a
wedding
or
any
other
event,
whether
you’re
gay,
straight,
or
something
else,
you
will
be
welcomed
with
open
arms
and
you
will
have
the
most
incredible
event
of
your
life
if
you
have
it
at
Carambola
Beach
Club.
