2 bedroom suite w/ full kitchen. Awesome place with breathtaking ocean views off our double balcony. Close to shopping and quality restaurants. I am already planning a return trip. * the indoor heated pool was a big ➕️

Worth it! The building itself is slightly shabby, but it is very clear that the staff is working hard to keep it up! The General Manager does a great job and has a phenomenal staff. They keep things very clean, and very professional and pleasant! Starting with Reception, we were greeted with a smile and fresh delicious coffee was available in the lobby along with nice flavored creamers. We were given a great room with an awesome view. The room itself was spotless - clearly housekeeping is really very good. Every staff member we saw was smiling and hard-working, making the overall feel of the place happy and comfortable. The Beachside Bistro had an equally good staff - great food, prompt service. Easy access to the beach! Nice indoor pool (clean and does not stink like some indoor pools do) and they provide pool towels! And a nice fitness center as well. Oh - and well-lit parking area. We will definitely being staying here again!!

Our stay at the Sea Ranch was the best all around vacation I have experienced on the outer banks. The BEST OCEAN FRONT ROOM with balcony and walk out directly onto the BEACH! Their Bistro Restaurant on the Beach is second to none! While the Sea Ranch is not a 5 Star Hotel, it gets a 10 for a Beach Front Room or Condo on the Outer Banks! Thus the Sea Ranch receives my highest recommendation! Roger Gill

The hotel is fine, has a great location, and is fairly comfortable. However, there are issues that are easily addressed. One, the front desk staff need a serious lesson in customer service. They completely ignore you until they’re finished doing whatever they’re doing whether it’s important or not. We waited a few times, first when trying to check in, a second time when we were actually checking in later, and a third time checking out. Again, they simply ignore you while you’re standing at the counter. There’s no “I’ll be right with you” or anything. No big deal except those times when you have to wait over 5 minutes for them to do something that’s more important than helping a customer. Second, the website states that the hotel has a gym, which it does, but it’s totally useless. The hotel offered a pass to the YMCA, but we wanted a hotel with an on site gym, not one they offered a pass for me to go someplace else. There is good news. First, even though the rooms need a little refreshing, they were fairly comfortable and clean. The staff in the lounge were great! Very attentive, polite, and courteous. The food in the lounge was also very good, although we only had a couple of different appetizers. The overall value of the hotel is good given what you get for the price. I just wish that the front counter staff were more customer oriented, the rooms were updated, and there was an actual gym as advertised.

We had our wedding here and it was PERFECT!!! Gwen was the event coordinator and she went above and beyond. She handled everything and made our day 100% stress free. I cannot speak highly enough of her. The food was Catered by The Beach Side Bistro and it was absolutely incredible. The Chef came out and introduced himself to us and asked if everything was good. Just everyone went above and we are unbelievably happy. Have your wedding here.

Great place for a wedding! We were most pleased with the Sea Ranch staff. Gwyn was awesome, she made the entire process much less stressful as she was fully engaged and always called us right back when we had a question or change. Sea Ranch is exceptional for a beach wedding because rain or shine (and we almost had rain) you can do everything in one place. What sold us was, if weather is bad you can have the ceremony in the reception room. They are very flexable and everything went off without a hitch. Everyone remarked how beautiful it was and many even told us the food was the best they ever had at a wedding. Definitely warrants 5 stars all the way around.

Ritz Carlton views with Motel 6 living. Our room was dirty, smelled like someone had chain smoked in it for twenty years, and was missing basic amenities that we didn’t even realize were an option until family met us there and checked into their room. We burst out laughing that their room had a handwritten note from the cleaning staff while we had a used plunger and moldy shower curtain in ours. The bed was also horrendous. I’m in my 20s, I shouldn’t be waking up in the middle of the night in physical pain from lying on a mattress. It is literally like cement. The indoor pool also broke while we were there and emitted a smell across the area like a swamp monster had emerged from the ocean. That said, stunning views. Had it been warm and had we been able to actually be on the beach we would have roughed it in the room. But as it was 60 degrees and blustery all week, it was my absolute worst hotel experience.

I meant to write this review a long time ago, but this hotel was phenomenal for the price! My friends and I were 8 in total and had two conjoining water front rooms, literally steps away from the beach! Staff was nice and we enjoyed having either the pool or beach at our dispense. We spent just shy of a week here and it was a great time. There was enough space for all of us and the bathrooms were nice too. There were also balconies that were great for photos, resting, or a peer over the beach. My friend lost her keys on the last day of the trip and the staff went above and beyond to help us, checking the laundry, double checking the rooms and all storage areas. At one point they were even deliberating getting a metal detector!! Overall great experience! Only downsides were the bugs that appeared by the hotel entrance at night and the elevators were delayed or buggy a lot of the time. 9/10 stay in OBX!! Would come back again

Very close to the beach with beautiful ocean views. The rooms are decent, but you can tell that the hotel needs some updating. The steps and doorways are rusty, and the hallways and pool area has standing puddles of water with algae. They do not clean rooms daily, change linens, or take out the trash. The A/C is very loud and the beds are too firm. It's not a terrible place. There is just some room for improvement on the cleanliness.

I didn't stay at this beachfront resort, I attended a wedding here. The weather didn't cooperate for the wedding to be held on the beach as planned but the transition to an indoor ceremony appeared seamless. I had an opportunity to go into a room on the first floor. The room was standard. The staff members were professional, attentive, and eager to assist.

This is a decent place to stay in late December, and the rates are significantly cheaper. Our room was a little dated but was clean and had more space than most hotel rooms I've stayed in. The only downside was a small bathtub and a noisy heater, although it provided plenty of heat. The beach access is fantastic, and the enclosed heated swimming pool is very nice.

Condo was pretty clean, we stay there simply for the beachfront views for the last 13 years. Can't beat them for the price. Only complaint was that the main toilet was clogged when we arrived. My husband tried plunging it before notifying the front desk, and the clerk stated he'd get someone to fix it that day. They never came, so we put in a 2nd request and it was corrected immediately. Not a biggie since we had a 2nd bathroom, and that was the only negative thing. We always enjoy our visits to the Sea Ranch!

Plenty of space in condo rooms, clean and comfortable. Location of Sea Ranch is perfect (no bottles neck traffic like Northern towns like duck and Corolla), beach access is perfect. The only two things I would change would be the buildings are showing their age and maybe a pillow-top mattress pad for the king beds. We love the Sea Ranch ‼️❤🇺🇸

This is a good location our room was ocean front. The rooms were very nice and clean. Equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. The restaurant, on site, serves absolutely delicious food well prepared and visually attractive. We would certainly stay here again.

We were very happy with this room. King size bedroom and queen size bedroom, each with their own bath. Great kitchen and living room with balcony. Spacious! Highly recommend. Would for sure stay here again.

We have been going to OBX 3 times a year for the last five years and staying at various places until we find the one we love. As of 9/11/2023 the Sea Ranch has out ranked the Shutters hotel and Surfside hotel this year. We stayed at the Sea Ranch for 4 days and this was my take on it. The room is dated but spacious, the view is perfect with the large balconies. The hotel is remarkably close walk to the beach, the bathroom needs better cleaning and the water in the shower drained very slowly so our feet were always in our own filth (gross). The hotel has TWO elevators and one was out of order when we arrived and the second broke on the last day of our visit. I felt so bad watching those elderly people going up and down those stairs, how two elevators are out of order at the same time is beyond me but if we would have arrived and both elevators didn't work we would have asked for a refund and stayed somewhere else those steps and the heat will kill you. The restaurant on the property serves really good food so you do not have to leave the hotel but there is no room service. Lastly, they did not offer us housekeeping, which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of walking back and forth to the beach, we had sand in our rooms and if you need fresh towels, soap or anything you must go to the front office to get them. All the staff are friendly, from the maintenance people to the sidewalk sweeper. Overall, it was a 3-star hotel stay for us.

This is our second time staying here, the last being almost 10 years ago. I was a little apprehensive that it would be a nice as I remembered it being. However it was great. For the money, an oceanfront suite with phenomenal views, you're not going to find something better. They've made updates to the rooms. The kitchen is a bit dated but stocked with what you'll need. Oven is a little old and took a while to preheat. The bathrooms are dated and I'm sure they're on the list to be renovated soon. The staff was excellent, especially Layla on the housekeeping staff. She repeatedly went above and beyond for us during our stay and was a delight. The indoor pool is wonderful and since it was cold and windy for our entire stay, we used it plenty. My only complaint, and this has nothing to do with the hotel itself, is the idiots who think it's OK to smoke their unfiltered cigarettes on their balcony. No consideration that this is a nonsmoking hotel with signs posted that you can't smoke on balconies. No care that my condo now smells like smoke because we didn't get the door closed in time. As an asthmatic, this definitely took something from our stay.

The hotel and the room smelled like smoke. The air freshener and cleaners that they use have a very overwhelming smell, I assume in order to cover up the smoking odor. The room was run down. The front desk people acted like we were bothering them whenever we tried to get service. The TV was tiny, and when we tried to watch football I could barely see the players. This is a small detail, and maybe not the hotel's problem, but we went to get a cart so we could check out of our room and both carts had been left outside in the rain so we could not use them.

The view was awesome! The pillows on the bed were horrible. Two were flat and hard. Two were thick with what felt like foam. The extra pillow on the shelf didn't have a pillow case. We got up at 12:30 and drove two hours home. Waste of money.
