I see some reviews saying it is free. It is NOT free, but it was just $5. It may have no one at the booth and it is a trust system that you pay into the slot. I only had one other group in front of me and so was able to enjoy it at my leisure. A great tree and pretty much something you *must* do in the Redwoods - drive through at least ONE tree.

Super cool! This 2as my first time driving thru a tree and it was worth the $5 to do it! Located in the redwoods national park, it's right off the road. You pull up to a small building to pay and drive up 200 feet to the tree. Definitely make the stop if you're there, great experience!

FREE! Yes it was free and worth the stop before you head into the Redwoods. Let’s you have an idea what your going to see. We was the only ones there so we drove through it a couple of times and could take as much time as we wanted and that was in the morning. A Kia Soul had tons of room if that gives you an idea for size for your vehicle.

I really loved the tranquility of this place. We did end up going on a perfect day thou, it was raining and thundering. On mother's day we were getting ready to check out from our hotel in smith river, when we got a call from my aunt. She asked us where we were and I told her we are exploring Klamath. Her first question was if we toured through the tree, and I was like no. She sounded way more excited than I was at that hour if the day. So when I googled and found this place was so super close to us, I decided it definitely was gonna be my 1st stop. As we drive on the empty road in hail and heavy rain, wipers going up and down, thanks to the big sign which said tour thru trees exit here, I was able to know where exactly iam going. An empty check in cabin stood in front of us with a sign that deposit $5 in the slot as the person has gone somewhere for some errands. We started making our way up the park on a narrow road. The moment I was surrounded by so much greenery, I was lost in the beauty of my surroundings. This is usually the place I YouTube when I want to put peaceful music in my living room. And here I was watching this place in real life. We entered the parking lot where a big tree stood right before us. No one in sight probably because of the weather which made us very lucky. I do have a jeep compass so it was a very tight fit to pass thru the tree but I did make it. I just stood there admiring that place before we hit the road . It's truly a gem. Now my pictures may not look like it was taken in rain but it was taken in rain, not even drizzle. I can't believe that one part of California is so serene. Coming from sf bay area all we see is the dry dry and dry. I close my eyes and I still picture this place. If it was not for the pictures I'd definitely think it was a dream. Anyway I hope you all like my story coz it truly came from my heart. Pliz do visit them. Happy journey

We were taking a road trip from South Carolina and after spending two days at Redwoods State and National Parks, we wanted to drive our truck through a Redwood Tree. Fun experience and worth $5. Make sure you pull your side mirrors in before driving through.

There is something fascinating about these giant beautiful trees and even more fascinating is being able to drive your vehicle through it. There is a is a $5.00 fee to drive thru the redwood tree. The lady taking the fees was very friendly and kind- she has been doing this job for 34 years. Amazing. Is it worth it? We thought so.

This tree is so neat, it’s a cool little experience. We were near this place so we decided to cruise through. It’s $5 to drive through. Probably not something i’d recommend you go out of your way to do, but if you are driving by then yes stop and do it. The kids loved it!

This place was really cute and well kept! I was super excited to drive thru the tree but I was scared my van wouldn’t fit! I regret not trying! It’s worth the detour to see and only $5. Follow my van-tures on Instagram for more creative travel content 🫶🏾 @gracetheodor The Vintage Voyager 🚐💨

The wife and I stopped by on our trip thru the area. Pretty cool little side stop. We arrived early in the morning and were the only ones there. The tree itself is neat and capable of being driven thru. We have a smaller mid sized SUV and it was a tight fit.

There is an entry fee. Wasn’t really busy when we came. We waited for one vehicle that got there before us. The road was a bit narrow on the way to it. It was a challenge to drive our large van through but it fit! With the mirrors turned in tho 😅. Just one giant tree but it was fun trying to get it through. Glad it wasn’t busy it would been a wait if you get 4-5 large vehicles trying to get through.

This huge tree has had the center section removed, allowing small vehicles to pass through. Amazingly, the tree seems to be alive and thriving even though a large portion of the trunk has been cut out.

Big hype for just one tree in a small community. I thought it was in the red woods with more big trees. The big sign is hard to see out front with tree covering it and it getting faded. It was a cool site to go in and see but that's all it is the tree and then you leave.

$5 per car at the entrance and a short drive to tree. The road up was narrow, our car got stuck and skid. We did a reverse and safety drive up again. At the top there’s a spot for pull over or immediate drive thru. The car can nearly fit, so keep the side mirrors folded in. It was such a great experience for the family to enjoy this together for the first time Driving through a redwood tree.

Very nice old lady takes your $5 at a booth by the road. At the top of the driveway hill the is parking for about 3 cars plus one transiting the tree slowly. We cleared it with a 2014 suburban, just fold in the mirrors. Kids enjoyed touching the top of the tree hole through the sun roof

If you want a picture driving through a tree this is the place to go. When we went there was no one else there and we had fun taking lots of pics. There is a 5$ fee for driving up to the tree and if you arrive later there is an honor system for the fee so you can still visit.

One of three trees you can walk through in California. Inexpensive and easy to access. We were glad we went. After hours they only took cash.

It was neat, as a nature lover you can appreciate the grandness of the tree, however, I didn't know it would only be 1 tree. It was still awesome to see but it was really short-lived. If you're driving a truck, it may be a little tricky and a right squeeze. I'd recommend going up the drive way and making a u turn at the end and THEN go through the tree. It's easier to align yourself to the tree that way.

Been hearing stories about this tree since I was a kid. What a treat to see and of course drive thru. Had to do it. I suggest you pull in your mirrors.

Your vehicle will most likely fit, but it's tight! We drove our 15 passenger Ford Transit (82" tall and wide) through with about an inch to spare on either side with the mirrors folded in. Is the $5 worth it? Absolutely! Is it the #1 thing to do in the area? Not really, but 5 stars, nonetheless. (Important note: a smaller vehicle in front of us drove through and scraped their side mirror, so if your driving skills are questionable, it may be better to simply pose your car in front or behind the tree)

A very interesting tree. A sharp curve to get up a small hill to the tree. Approximately $5.00. My car would fit through if I folded the mirrors in. My car is 17 feet long. There is a small turn going in or coming out depending on which direction you're going into the tree. I believe I would have trouble with that so I didn't go through. The height and width would have been fine. Loved all the flowering bushes on the way in.

If you’re driving along 101, this is a must stop. There is a $5 fee per vehicle. There was no attendant but they have this drop off to put your $5. My husband drove thru the tree, with our 2017 Chevy 2500 Silverado with our son guiding him, he is 8! Wish I can upload a video but pics don’t do justice on how majestic this Redwood tree is!

It is an easily accessible place just 1 minute from highway 101. It is a small place but very fascinating. Recommended for a little stop.

Awesome experience driving thru a tree, a must do while driving on the 101. It’s a $5 fee to enter which is less than a Venti drink at your coffee shop! We had this place to our selfs at time we entered on a Friday afternoon 7.29.22. Kids are still talking about when we drove thru a big tree 🌲.

Great little stop ! Hubbys only wish for our trip was to drive through a tree. They ask for $5.00 but it’s an honor system where you pay in a box .
