This museum and park showcases the history of Southern Oregon. It was an important center of defense, commerce and communications. Army troops stationed here were involved in skirmishes with the Modoc. Dioramas, photographs, and period artifacts are displayed in the museum. A short flat trail passes a grave site, jail, wagon, and post office. Perfect spot for reenactments and old timey photo shoots!

This place is awesome, I appreciate the dedication and patience of everyone here not to mention friendliness. My family and I attended as part of my child's school field trip and everything was so organized even with 6 or so elementary schools visiting. The Presenters were patient with the children, they made it fun and educational looked to enjoy being there. I would definitely go back.

Awesome little gem of a museum, both the indoor exhibits and the outdoor trail. The history of Fort Klamath is really, really interesting. And the docent was sooo knowledgeable and a really nice guy. The best part? It's free! But leave a donation if you can. Or buy one of the postcards or books to support the museum.

If you are on the way to or from Crater Lake, stop by for a breather and some history of the area. Marv is a knowledgeable guide and lovely to talk to. I am always stopping by local museums and this one was one of the best. Thanks Marv!

Pretty cool olde fort, the guide is dressed like a union soldier and has no problem telling you the history. Cool road side stop.

Very interesting place. Lots of information. Man on staff was very friendly. He had a lot to say and was enthusiastic. His delivery was scattered and hard to follow, and a bit loud, lol. Nice displays and signs. A lot of the artifacts were in boxes being packed to go to a different museum.

Cute quick little stop, friendly museum staff, very little for sure, still worth it to stretch your legs. Clean restrooms! Donation only, no fee.

Very informative. Small museum with many historical object used by colonizer, soldiers and native people. The guide and host, dressed as a soldier, was extremely knowledgeable and works as a volunteer. A must stop for any traveler who wants to see and learn history of the land.

Super cool old fort in a gorgeous setting with lots of local history south of Crater Lake. Visit replica post office, covered wagons and jail. Well curated museum with resources about the happenings back in the day. Great for kids to run around as well. No amenities. Bring snacks and beverages. Remote location.

This is a little gem of Oregon history - a great place to learn about the role of the US Army in the early days of the state. The docent has a world of information to share as you browse Oregon's past. It's a great "side quest" to add to a visit to Crater Lake.
