We enjoyed the place. The tree is very tight squeeze, we were in a minivan. They have a few other things to do as well. The chandler tree about 45 minutes away is much larger but both were cool places to visit.

Fun little place. If you go to the right, good luck trying to fit any car through the tree! Little smart cars are about the only things that can fit with ease. The drive-thru tree is hollow, so make sure to look up! If you go to the left, there's cute tree houses with stairs built inside and a drive on log. The people here are also very nice and have great respect for our veterans.

Well this is your chance to drive through a drive tree and be able to talk about it after. We went about 6 pm no wait at all. It was 15 per car with less that 5 passengers. There are a few other things to see but it's a really quick stop. Like 10mins maybe. A must do on a 101road trip.

A nice tree to drive through, but it is very small. After you pay and go in, a sign states nothing bigger the 7 feet wide and tall. We were in a Hyundai Santa Fe and had to push our mirrors in with only inches to spare on each side. We weren't expecting it to be so small. You can also park and walk in it. You can also drive up on a log if you so desire.

I was here today 01/03/2022 Returning from Eureka California. I had such a blast with my husband, since there was literally no one behind us we were able to drive thru couple of times. It’s such a fun experience, we were able to get a ticket through an automated machine.

Great place right near the visitor center to take your car through the tree. Ours was too high with our roof storage box unfortunately but most SUVs and smaller can fit. They also had some fun tree houses to play in and a gift shop.

This one was a tight squeeze in a mustang convertible, but we made it through. The parking area has a couple of tree houses that added to our fun visit. We also drove up on the redwood and got some pictures. This was a nice stop!

I came just to say I drove through a redwood but it was such a fun little stop! Ten bucks and I drove through, and then you can walk around and see some fun tree houses, and if it's not busy go back to walk through the tree! I had a fun little photo shoot with myself and was having a great time.

Is it a tourist trap? Yes. Is it over priced? Yes. Is your SUV too big to fit through it? Absolutely. But... do my kids ask to come here every time that we go to Humboldt redwoods because it's tradition? Exactly. So buyer beware - it's pricey and your car may not fit. Just pay to walk in and experience the campy fun. I have pictures of my kids at every age in those treehouses and I appreciate that this business is still there as part of the tradition.

C'mon, it's only $10! We thought it was worth the price to get the pics. We had a GMC Terrain, and it fit no problem. The grounds are small, but there's several things to see. I wouldn't need to go again, but it's worth the stop.

Many people complained about this place. I honestly don't see why. It is a delightful little area and tree, itself, is just as described. They tell you widths and heights before you enter so why complain if your vehicle doesn't fit? Ours fit, as I checked ahead of time and it was quite exciting to drive in. Look up through the top of the tree, touch the inside just by sticking your hand out the window and then driving on out. Loved it. Plus it is nature made with just a touch of help. You paid $10 per car with an optional $3 walk in

It was an amazing experience, more than 3000 years old red wood trunk. There are two other tree houses 🏠, kids climb 🪜 on that to the top heart shaped windows 🪟. Nice location and plenty of parking spots. There is a gift shop/rest room right next door.

Overpriced - for sure, but also fun and must visit - at least once 😅 Even my husband could not resist. In my opinion, this tree is great because the tree is already dead, so we’re not making any more harm to it, and it looks pretty natural. But - you can try all of the drive through trees and make your own judgement 😉

Honestly, pretty cool experience to do in the avenue of the giants. The drive through the tree takes skill! Advanced drivers familiar with the vehicle is highly recommended. You can see scrapes along the inside of the tree from previous vehicles not aligned properly. Our 2022 Ford explorer BARELY made it through, half an inch clearance on both sides. I live for adventure and this didn't disappoint!

They should tell you before you enter that it is only 7 ft. x 7 ft. With a curve. 2500 HD truck cannot fit. Went through first part but opening on second part to short. Cost is $10. Not much room to get in and get out. It's a good idea.

Unless you have a super tiny vehicle or a golfcart, you will not be able to drive through the tree. No clearance signs posted before payment and no human on-site to request a refund after entrance. Save your money for the gift-shops down the road. It’s been 2 months and we still joke about how much of a ripoff this was! The only thing we got out of this place was a good laugh.

So cool! I think most will enjoy this fun stop in Northern California. It's got something for everyone and the Redwoods are spectacular! You can also hike around the area and see some gorgeous forests. Go visit and enjoy! 🙂

This place should be turned into an educational resource center and use the past damage to this wonderful tree to elevate the knowledge of the remaining redwoods in the public awareness. Gets 5 stars for the tree who stood such abuse and still stands tall in spite of it all.

Natural drive through tree is a tight fit for many cars, but so cool. Ford Edge SUV fit! The tree houses are cool too, great stop with kids. $15 per car fee

Nice pit stop. Super cool drive through a giant redwood tree. Opening was 7’ x 7’. We drove through on a Saturday afternoon, didn’t have to wait and we were not rushed.

Meh. It's a tourist trap. $15 and it takes a few seconds to go through the hole, assuming you drive carefully. But make sure your car fits before you pay because they sure don't warn you! We saw someone having to backup.

Driving through the Avenue of Giants, Redwood trees, came across this place, it is a fun drive thru place, the actual drive thru tree in here is quite narrow, my SUV ( Stelvio ) couldn't get through and had backed out, but a sedan or hatchback could squeeze thru easily. Also, there is a $15 entry fee.

Such a fun experience for the kiddos! They really enjoyed driving through the tree and up onto the log! We drive a 2018 Toyota Sequoia and it BARELY fit. Employee was kind, there wasn’t a long line either (weekday).

Loved it! We were driving a Toyota RAV4 and it fit with plenty of space. We went through twice, once with everyone in the car and once with everyone taking pictures of the car going thru. We had fun exploring the kids play houses ( big enough for adults too) and carved bears were fun photo opportunities. It was $15 per car with up to five people in it. Highly recommended!

For $10 at the entrance it was worth the experience to visit this particular Drive-Thru tree. There wasn't a whole lot in artifacts to look at but it is essentially located off of highway 101 going northbound making it easy to find. It is also along the way going through the avenue of the Giants. I get there and it's pretty much nestled against the rest of the trees in Northern California. The Drive-Thru tree itself was a little too narrow for my car and I was barely able to get through it even with my mirrors folded in. If your vehicle is wide do not attempt to go in there. I almost feared my car was going to be stuck in there but I dared to do it anyways only because I know my car. I didn't go into the gift shop to get a souvenir but it was okay with that because I had a different goal and I was going for the North but I have plenty of pictures and the experience itself in my memories. I didn't need much time to spend there but it was worth it. To some people it'll be different and might be able to spend more time than I did since I had another destination to go to.

The Shrine Drive Thru Tree is a must see! We went from San Francisco to the Redwoods and just had to drive through a tree! The Shrine Tree is awesome to see, you just can't describe the experience in words! Just be prepared to go in verrrry slowly, there's not much room! We had a small rental car (a Ford Fusion) and we barely squeezed through! In the Redwoods these trees never cease to amaze us with what they can withstand, growing and continuing to tower over us through any devastating event, it really made us say "wow!" You should go!

This is a tight Drive Thru Tree. There is a bypass but a large SUV like a Suburban, Yukon XL, Escalade ESV, Expedition, Lifted Mid-size truck like a Tacoma, Jeep Wrangler will be a tight fit. You will need a spotter for sure or if you don't mind some roof and side "pinstriping". There is parking outside of the main paying booth next ot the Gift Shop. There are also additional attractions on the property to see. Enjoy!!

The woman at the drive through was so nice- she said we can go through as many times as we want and can come back later to picnic (it was a quiet Monday). She oiled my wooden bowl I bought at the gift shop and went above and beyond to give me a gift bag. I loved the treehouses, as an adult, too!
