The best 9 miles I ever hiked. Covered all the trails. Bring good hiking shoes because it is quiet muddy, the trail is not at all difficult to do. I love the north water fall and the south water fall. The map is so confusing, it never tells you where you are. Better to download the hiking map to help you in forest because there is no service in that area. Park in the main parking lot.

This place is a hikers dream. 10 falls in a 9 mile loop is simply heaven. I visited on 07-04-22. The terrain was shaded, cool, wet and extremely fun to hike. There was a slight elevation at some parts and some stairs throughout. There were a few bridges along the trail as well. Definitely wear water shoes for the hike and keep a spare pair in the car for later. Try wearing quick dry clothes. Start by paying $5 parking fee at the kiosks. Take snacks and water. Take a hiking stick mostly for safety. Be considerate of others while taking pics. Don't hog the trail and let other pass by safely. Know your comfort level if you decide to get under the falls or in the water at all. Safety can't get to you fast enough once you are around double falls. Keep your phone charged to capture the beautiful moments. Take your time and enjoy to the fullest.

Beautiful hiking area. Trails are moderate, wide and well kept. 10 waterfalls of various sizes and length to see and experience. A few you can walk behind the water which is fun. Lots of picnic areas so bring a lunch. 3 different parking lots. The south lot is the largest.

I love this park as much as I love the Columbia River Gorge. You can see 10 waterfalls and some you can walk behind. Some are easy to spot from the parking areas but most waterfalls require a hike. There are stairs on the trail from South Falls to Lower South Falls so beware of that too!

Amazing, probably the most popular park n hiking trails in the states. Its tons of hiking trails with different lengths from easy to hard. Well maintain n managed. You could see lots of falls n great view. You need state lark permit which could be bought online for a year or from kiosk in parking lots for $5 a day. Even weekdays they are good amount of people all around the park

Such a cool place for a family hike! Was recommended by a friend and definitely don't regret a single second we spent here. Highly recommend going on the hike that at least takes you through the 7 falls if you are up for a 5+ mile hike. Not too strenuous either.

A must visit place if you like nature, waterfalls and hiking. We visited this place in last week of Oct and it was raining all day. We still managed to hike and cover most of the waterfalls there. The fall colours added even more beauty to this state park. Absolutely stunning and breathtaking waterfalls. Absolutely worth the visit.

Absolutely loved this hike. I've always wanted to go behind a waterfall. I think the lower south falls was my favorite, you're behind the fall and pretty close to the water too. Ten waterfalls all in 1 hike! But give yourself a lot of time, I only managed to see 8/10 waterfalls. I think it took me about 3 hours I forget how long exactly. And definitely go early, when I got back to the car around 12:30 there were a lot of cars waiting with no parking spaces available. I went at the end of May and the waterfalls were still a wonderful sight to see, but I wonder if I went earlier in the year the water flow would be higher? Some of them didn't seem that big but I'm not sure if that's just how they normally are. All in all, a great hike, not too hard in difficulty, but long in length, I love that it's a loop trail so you don't have to turn back around at the end. Park is kept very clean, I think $5 fee to park there.

Went out to Silver Falls State Park, yesterday, it was a glorious sunny day after the Fog went by by and we met a super cool person on the trail, Alicia. Thanks Alicia for making the day more fun for my brother and I :). We did the Loop from East to West, highly recommend it and take good comfy grippy shoes. Great views of the falls, got lucky with less people there before 2pm on a Friday. Great for all ages and you don’t have to do all the falls in one day especially if you are camping. If you go from right to left you have some great views and the trail is pretty easy to walk with a few inclines here and there.

Have not been here since I was very young. I hiked with my dog and a friend. Still absolutely beautiful view. That makes the hike to the first fall worth it. Bring good hiking shoes. There are plenty of pay to park stations and a bathroom area. Perfect way to tire out my very energetic husky for the next two days. Watch out for trails that do not allow dogs.

Wow what an incredible experience! We hiked the full 7.5 mile loop that they have nicknamed the trial of 10 falls. We were kindly given a map by a forest ranger that explained all the possible routes to take! (Highly recommend asking for a map, it was super helpful because there are so many different routes to take on this hike. The waterfalls themselves are stunning. There are 4 you can walk behind. Two of them however, you can’t see to well because theirs no way to really get down to them. A good chunk of the trial is uphill, bring snacks and water. It took us 3 hours to hike the full thing. We also parked at the south falls ridge trailhead parking lot. It’s a lot bigger then the other parking lot and has bathrooms next to it. There is a little cafe on the property and various other amenities. Definitely a place I recommend hiking!

We love this forest park. Very well maintain trails, easy to hike and easy to navigate. Beautiful waterfalls. Coming here in the fall is a must in order to see the fall foliage. Lots of good foraging spots if you’re into foraging. Come after a good rain and your guaranteed to find lots of mushrooms. (Bring a field guide!) Lots of parking in the parking lot. You will have to pay for a Oregon park permit or a day pass. (EV charging available). There’s also a nice bike only trail for you bikers. You’ll drive through a little farming town with fresh eggs for sell everywhere!

The trail from the South entrance was absolutely beautiful. The first two waterfalls are a must-see. Make sure to take water with you if you plan to hike the entire loop, or even half of it. Be careful for loose rock and wet slippery places. There are some steps, and the trail gets fairly steep in spots, both up and down.

Beautiful. Parking costs $5 (bring cash). We started at the south falls and walked the ridge trails to see the first two, then we drove up to the north falls. There are a lot of stairs and uphill. People completely ignore the no dog rule so be mindful of that. So beautiful, want to go back and do the entire trail of ten falls soon.

AMAZING experience!! Being from SoCal I had no idea the beauty Oregon has to offer and the Trail of 10 Falls does not disappoint. I recommend doing the trail from the South Falls lot going counter clockwise, taking the Rim Trail. This will save the BEST and wettest fall (South Fall) last. Also, you will need $5 cash to buy a day permit at the North Falls parking lot. You can use ATM/credit card at the kiosk at the South Falls lot. We arrived at 8AM so we did not experience the weekend crowd until the last 1/4 of the trail and even then it wasn't bad at all. Also it was a cold 37° when we arrived and if we had taken the other route we would have started the long hike wet and cold, from the mist of the South Falls. Lastly, taking the Rim Trail first had us finish the long hike close to the restrooms and car. The trails were a pretty easy grade and well marked. The trail path was well defined and very well maintained. I appreciate that any fallen trees across the path were cut to allow the path to continue without the need to climb over the fallen trees. Be aware that you walk through wet and muddy portions of the trail. The falls were GORGEOUS. We started taking pics as soon as we walked up on them and did not realize that they would get more and more amazing as we were able to get closer to them. The falls that you could walk behind were EPIC! I would definitely recommend this trail on your Bucket List. Where else can you see 10 waterfalls on one hiking adventure.

This was a beautiful, and fairly short hike. We went when the fireweed was blooming, which made some spots even prettier. Be aware though that there is lots of climbing.

Great place to see waterfalls, and take guests from out of town. Easy parking and there are clean bathrooms and a Cafe and gift shop. Not all trails are dog friendly but they have maps to show you which ones are. Awesome place to breathe in fresh air and explore

I planned to stop here just to see one waterfall and a short hike... 6 hours later, I didn't want to leave. It's truly stunning y'all. For those with mobility issues, it will be a challenge to get down to the waterfalls. The paths are fairly steep but well maintained. I've never been behind a waterfall and that was the coolest. They have an awesome shop and lodge too. Even cabins for rent! Can't wait to go back.

What an awesome day! Checked out all 10 waterfalls and the hike was not too bad and took about 4 hrs. Make sure to wear proper shoes or bring an extra pair of socks if you wear running/cross training shoes. Gets pretty wet on the trail especially when you go behind some of the waterfalls. It was dope!

Just…..WOW! I did the Trail of 10 Waterfalls and the hike is beautiful and the park has some great amenities. The lodge and cafe was open and had some great options for food. They have a beautiful gift shop too. We stopped by the movie theater and watched a short movie on the history of Oregon State Parks. SO MUCH GREEN - and so much beauty.

Beautiful waterfalls and great memories here. The hikes are pretty easy. The downside is there are always a lot of people here, but it’s so pretty that I gladly tolerate the busyness. The new trail at the North Falls parking lot is really pretty as well!

This is a cool park, there are some paved areas, picnic areas, play areas, the falls of course. There are restrooms, a water area to play in (like an asphalt cold water play area). The falls are spectacular. I found it odd there was a Cafe and more but hey there you go. There are trails for different skills as well as dog friendly (and dog restricted trails).

Amazing park. A cafe, plenty of parking, beautifully cared-for paths, and picnic areas. It's still a bit of a hike, though, with plenty of elevation changes, so you'll get a great workout. But the views...they will take your breathe away as much as the hiking will!

Incredible experience with my family!! We hiked the full 7.5 mile loop and it was definitely worth it! I would recommend planning ahead for if you decide to hike the full loop and definitely take water. They have restrooms at the beginning of the hike and the trails are dog friendly. I would not recommend strollers as there are some areas behind the falls where there’s big puddles and rocks.

Didn't know what to expect. First time here. As busy as it gets for a Sunday, there was still parking available. With cool temperatures during the late afternoon, the lush nature and breathtaking waterfalls set the mood for the hike. The sound and streams of the waterfalls made it a very pleasant experience. The cafe and nature store in the park is a great visit. Felt the burn on the inclines, although challenging, it was manageable. There's bike trails and some paved paths. Great viewpoints and pathways. Will definitely return for the full loop.

Such a beautiful place. Trails are well kept, but of course it is muddy in places. The hike down the Maple trail and back up the Canyon trail was about 3.5 miles. A fair bit of elevation for a relatively short hike as well.

Did the Trail of 10 Falls, hike. I suggest doing a loop of the parking lots with your car first. We didn't know a part of the trail was closed off, as they didn't post it online air at any of the other parking lots, other than the one that was by that closed off portion. Still a great hike though, with beautiful views. Show up early and take your time.

Wow just wow! Such a beautiful place. Excellent trail maintenance and majestic waterfalls. Unloved my visit here! Great hike. All trails marks it as easy, I would say on the medium side. Would be difficult for people with injuries or stability issues. Bring a walking stick if you have any trouble with balance!

Beautiful hiking spot near Silverton, Oregon. There are 10 waterfalls to see, if you see them all. The whole trail is about 9 miles. You can easily take shorter hikes and see a couple of falls if you are looking for a shorter hike. I think the first waterfall from the main parking lot is the best, so even if you plan to only see one, it’s worth it.

If you love outdoor activities, you will surely fall in love with this place. Located one and half hour drive south of Portland, it is a great place to go if you are into hiking, biking, and just exploring the wonderful waterfalls. We have been here twice so far: one in the summer to visit the ten beautiful waterfalls; the other time in the late fall to hike the Buck mountain. We had a great time both occasions and the drive in was also lovely if you take the local route. Highly recommend! Advice: the trails can be muddy if you go during the raining season (obviously 😅).

Beautiful place, awesome falls. The trails are nice and you can see some of the falls without strenuous hiking. The cabins are warm and cozy but very small. If you have a memory foam mattress topper bring it along because the beds are hard. The public bathroom and showers are clean but you use your cabin key to get in and anyone can walk in on you by using their key. That's the crummy part! Cabins have a picnic table, fire pit and carts to haul stuff.

Agreed with other Google Map contributors that Silver Falls State Park is the most beautiful state park. The park is well run with clean toilets at the South Falls parking lot and a nice cafe there as well. My husband and I did a 7 1/2 miles hike along the Canyon Trail and loop back to the South Falls parking lot along the Rim Trail. The Canyon Trail is spectacular with all different falls and majestic trees. So thankful the park department built trails behind some of the falls for us to enjoy the views from behind and under the water falls. The park ranger was helpful and friendly to share her knowledge of the park. The Rim trail is basically parallel to the road and is shaded. It is a lot shorter trail from North Falls to South Falls than Canyon Trail. Silver Falls State Park is a must see in Oregon.

The trail was long, but it was well worth it for the views of the awesome waterfalls. The trail was mostly shaded, which was a relief on a hot day. Most of the waterfalls were impressive, but there were a few that were more basic. The North and South Falls were the highlight of the hike, and you can even go behind them for a unique perspective.

We had such an amazing time hiking and enjoying the beautiful nature and especially their waterfalls! I can’t wait to visit them again in a few months! We started our hike around 9am and made it back after 4pm. It was a beautiful day and well worth the 6 hour drive. If you enjoy hiking, and the outdoors, this is for you.

One of the best parks around to do some legit forest bathing. Great trails, great falls, lots of mushrooms and caterpillars. Feel away from it all while being a short drive from civilization.

Came here for the Trail of Ten Falls, which was a great hike that did not disappoint in the number of falls. The trail and park itself are incredibly well maintained with ample parking, spacious trails, lots of railings and steps built in, and well marked signage.

Every nice state park. Bathrooms consider cleaned for state park. Gift shop tiny but carry many stuff. We just did 1 waterfalls. We r not planned for doing tens falls. Maybe in the future.

Beautiful waterfalls. We did the ~7 mile Canyon trail to see all 10 and the trail was easy/moderate and well kept. Hardest thing is the constant elevation shifts. Took around 3 hours. This is a super popular park just a hour out of Portland so don’t be surprised if there’s a crowd on nice weekends/holidays. The South Falls trailhead is much bigger with a cafe/shop and bathrooms.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Grab a water bottle, your hiking gear and treat yourself to some of the most amazing views you will see. There are a couple of easier trails, but the majority aren't for everyone. Many switchback hills, but nice and wide trails. Allow yourself a few hours to see everything.

  • 5/5 Doug H. 8 months ago on Google
A series of impressive falls can be seen along a five to seven mile hike. A few of the waterfalls you can view from behind them. Worth spending at least a few hours here to enjoy the scenery.

What an amazing experience! The full loop is about 8-8.5 miles with the side trails to a couple of the falls but definitely not super difficult. We stopped and sat in the stream a few times to cool off which was great! It was just over 5 hours from start to finish.

  • 5/5 Ann T. 6 months ago on Google
We love this park, and will continue to come here until we are disabled! There are several trails out of the campground, as well as the heavily traveled waterfalls trails. The place has a special feeling, in whatever season you visit. We noticed that there is a new area with cabins that are separate from the campground that has a restaurant. We hope to rent one of the large cabins for a family trip.

What a beautiful park. Whatever you decide to do in the park get there early. It gets crowded later in the day. The forests are mystical and the waterfalls are really pretty. The hiking trails are well maintained and so is the park.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and had some good photos. The cafe is also good (which you can look at my other review) and has good foods. Make sure you get here early though!!! My family got here at 8:30 and there were plenty of parking spots. If you arrive there at times like lunch, it will be pretty hard to get spots.

  • 5/5 B S. 6 months ago on Google
Absolutely beautiful place, would have liked to explore more. I wish there had been more information available, like that to continue the loop for the south falls you would have to walk through ankle deep mud puddles or that the trails could be challenging for people with disabilities. We did look it up and it said it was a moderate hike and for healthy individuals this is accurate not so for disabled people.

Great local hike with beautiful trails and waterfalls. It can get pretty busy, no dogs allowed on some trails but people bring them anyways. A lot of picnic areas and parking for campers. Really beautiful spot!

What a hike! You can walk for miles and miles and see a dozen waterfalls or just walk a little and see one or two and still be happy with the views. I saw people jogging the paths and some hiking as if they were about to die so I think the difficulty is up to the beholder. With that said it’s a must see and I will definitely be going again soon. There are a lot of places to park and start the journey in a big loop but do your research and see where it’s best for you depending on what you want to see. Some waterfalls you can walk behind and some I saw people swimming in!

Surprisingly quiet day at Silver Falls! Kids always love splashing in the creek, especially on a sunny warm day. And the short walk to South Falls is a great option for visitors who don’t enjoy longer hikes, yet do enjoy the beauty of Oregon. Definitely a must.

It was an amazing experience to do hiking in this park❤️ it was really easy to access and walk around the park. The signs and directions are so clear, people also help you a lot. It's so green and alive. Winter Fall is mostly dry cuz is summer, but people told us autumn was amazing to come and see them (if you go during Summer you can skip this ones and safe time). It's really clean and they have a little lodge on the entrance where you can get food, water and go to the restrooms before starting your adventure.

Our family of 4 (with two teens, 15 & 18) did the full Trail of 10 Falls today and it was a great hike! Longest one we've ever done. Over 8 miles, a bit more than half of it (Canyon trail) lots of up and down. Thankfully, the Rim trail (which was our last half-ish) was much flatter and less rocky (but also no waterfalls). We were there in mid August which I guess is the dry season as Winter Falls was totally dried up and one or two others were not very plentiful. But there were still plenty that were beautiful. Definitely fave hike to date. Be sure to park at south falls ($5 to park) and use the restrooms there, much nicer than the 1 bathroom (which smells and has flies since it's non flushable) at the north falls parking lot. The south falls space also has a Cafe where we treated ourselves and kids to ice cream cones and I got an iced coffee for the road. Quite a few other food options, too.

Amazing just amazing. We spent the time in the day use area by the Evergreen Park and undercover area. So many deer. Great walkability. Lots of restrooms. Gorgeous area to walk and be with nature. Accessible for all with tons of parking and eating area’s. There is a playground near the entrance. Tons of camping available and hiking is plentiful. It’s about 90 min from Portland and 60 min from Oregon City. Near Silverton and cute small town stores on the way in. It cost $5 for a day pass.
