Snow Goose Central. Not far away, I also recorded several Bald Eagles. This area is a birders paradise.

Even though this is a wildlife refuge I found myself surprised at the amount of wildlife we saw. Mainly because of the drought conditions. But the animals are still here! Beautiful area that should be protected.

Worth a visit if you are going to Lava Beds NM. The lake has receeded quite a bit and there were not many birds when we went, but still quite impressive area and we did not go to the wildlife outlook itself.

Beautiful place with amazing landscape, mountains, Lake and little Museum. Great area to enjoy, explore, photograph or film. There were 50 different species of birds we counted and the Museum has very nice staff who are really friendly and knowledgable about the area. They have on display many amazing animals from the area like Bald Eagle,

So many butterflies! Unfortunately the lake is all dried up. We did find this neat little duck hunting building. Kinda fun.

The staff is very friendly and you get to see the animals as they should be, free in the wild. There are numerous types of birds, coyotes, deer and many more. Where you visit drive slow and enjoy. Bring binoculars!

There isn't much wildlife left, it's all becoming farmland ... it's sad but I'm always looking for places to watch the eagles

A relatively short hike uphill offers a stunning view, but it's important to exercise caution on the rocky descent. Be prepared for the lack of shade, making it quite hot during the summer. This trail is not suitable for strollers, but it can be manageable with kids, and there's a delightful lookout rock structure to enjoy.

Hiking area
👍👍 It offers two trails - Ski Bowl and Horse camp. Ski Bowl is higher in elevation and a longer hike. Beautiful, scenic views but it was hard to follow the trail because it was covered in snow still. If you’re feeling adventurous, I’d recommend ski bowl but if not - Horse camp is your best option.

👍👍 McCloud Falls is amazing! Definitely worth the stop. The lower, middle, and upper have fantastic views. The water is cold, clear, and sounds amazing gushing over the boulders. The lower and upper sections are mostly paved and have nice picnic areas and facilities. The middle section is dirt and rock...
