Very disappointed, rooms are aged, shower leeks water all over the floor, run down and are in need of maintenance. Could hear the person next door snore. Over priced for what you get. The restaurant was not great either, received cold chicken wings and had to send them back. The reception staff were friendly so it is a pity I won't be staying there again.

Service at the reception is exceptional and welcoming. Waiters are lovely and always on their toes to assist me. Big ups to all the housekeepers for keeping the rooms clean and sparkling. I loveeee your deluxes, hope to get the same experience when I come back.

Stayed overnight with family on a long trip. Rooms were clean, beds not comfortable(old mattresses) but the service from the reception to the breakfast team at the restaurant was amazing.

The hotel has a very beautiful garden, with a pond and fish. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. They serve delicious food, with a bit of variety during breakfast.

Location is convenient however this Protea hotel must really up it's game. Advice is for them to check the other Protea hotels, standard/class is on another level. Someone suggested that I must not book at the Klerksdorp protea hotel and because I love protea hotels, I really gave them the benefit of a doubt seing that other protea hotels are really lovely. Aay I was really disappointed ☹️

This hotel needs a serious revamp. They need to change even tiles. New paint, new furniture. Restaurant also need revamp from entrance to the toilet. They also need to look at the menus especially for conference. I am surprised it is still under Protea Hotel Group. The standard is very low

Very clean. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Well located near the main road and not very far from Matlosana mall. Professional setup in the rooms. Prompt response from reception when needing assistance. Worth my stay.

Called to book for a birthday celebration. Was told that there’s no need to book. Just turn up. Which I did only to find out that it was fully booked with cricketers. The manager was unsympathetic and unapologetic. Couldn’t care two hoots. Shame on you.

There's everything you need. Hand soap, hand lotion, water is hot, There's ingredients for tea and coffee, water to drink, TV to watch, generater when there's loadshedding, wifi, plugs are enough, bedding is clean, there's dryer to blow your hair, wallldrobe to hang your clothes, hangers for your clothes, chairs to sit, towels to wipe yourself, room is safe because you open with your own card, parking is safe because it's secured.

One of the best hotels in Klerksdorp, the hospitality is great and for a 3 star hotel it offers great comfort with clean rooms and nice breakfast buffet though the wifi is a bit of a problem in certain areas like the restaurant.

You never go wrong with protea hotels. They are clean and stunning. The smell is so refreshing. I fell in love with the place before i can even receive food

The rooms are Okay for the price. One problem I had and heard others having was water spilling out from the shower when showering. The water can even go straight under beds. Messy. The personnel on the other hand were nice, especially the receptionist. I would definitely recommend the place for the price. With the shower warning.

Protea hotel by Marriott is one of my favourite hotel chains to stay at The rooms are always above exception and the service and quality of the hotel is amazing definitely a hotel to consider staying at when you're in klerksdrop

They charge their prices for food not the prices you see on the room book, terrible, very terrible. Ribs are written R160 but they are charging me R180

Very rude waitress... they insist on dishing food for you. When you ask questions about the menu your treated like a nuisance... very limited options on the buffer .. they literally had 1 option for main and dessert... no starter..whilst the food was very cold ... disappointed

This is unfortunately a low star rating because of unruly & noisy guests. Hotel staff is really professional and friendly & really tried to accommodate me to escape the excessive noise. But not much you can do to inconsiderate guests. Hotel staff work hard and are well trained to manage the situation. I would definitely not advise this hotel if you prefer peace, quiet & tranquility.

I loved my stay at the Protea Hotel in Klerksdorp. The staff are really friendly especially the front desk staff. The scenery is beautiful and has a small town feel. I would just suggest that they should add more bar fridges in each room especially because the weather is quite hot over there. For visitors to Klerksdorp, I strongly recommend a bar/ night club called Good Fellas in town. I had such a good time there. The vine is very chilled. They play RnB classics and ballads. Plus, there is karaoke on Thursday nights!!!

Never personally stayed here, but have made use of their other facilities like their confrence center. Spacious, neat and fully equiped for all your business needs.

Enough bling to just barely make the grade, but basic maintenance and general upkeep can, and should be, much better. Best in the area / vicinity

The food is really nice. I suspect they have top chefs. The rooms were well kept daily, and supplies replenished. The bed I slept on, was however, pretty old. Better than the other surrounding hotels I guess.

Best place to be. I enjoyed the hospitality I recieved there especiallythe restaurant waitress and manager (Lerato).. The food was nice, though they could improve on the food decoration. Also they lacked variety on their menu, recommend they increase the menu choices.

Friendly staff. I love them. Good meals. The noice from the passing traffic is really irritating. But, worse, noice from people drinking alcohol the whole night. The noice from the other customers sitting right infront of my door, chatting and laughing loud the whole day untill late into the evening is intolarable. It is now 22:16 but the noice at my door step is at its peak, it is still party time throughout the week it has been like this. It is really not a hotel but a shebeen. I would rather sleep in the street than come here again and spent sleepless nights due to people drinking alcohol and screaming the whole night. I will never advise anyone to come here, never. I have been fooled by the name "Protea hotel," I regret.

Home away from home. The staff is sooo friendly and always willing to assist and make sure i am well taken care. I love this hotel. I won't sleep at any other place except Protea when I'm at klerksdorp. Keep up the good spirit

Super clean rooms. The ladies at reception are great. Service with a smile. All is well. TV channels are all clear, no snow. Everything in the rooms works as it's supposed to.To be honest, there is no reason why I can't rate them 5-star.

Enjoyed the 3 day stay enormously. All of the staff are extremely friendly. The food and presentation was definitely 5 stars worth. A big thank you to all the managers involved in running the Hotel like a well oiled machine, keep it up

I frequently visit the hotel with meetings held at the facility. Exterior of the building require urgent upgrade. From the outside it resemble a hostel exterior and the building totally outdated with modern building designs. To be frank it's been like this for more than 20 years. However, the reception area provide a little comfort being decorated with a reasonable sitting area. The conference facility needs a drastic make-over and the toilets much desired for. The conference facility appears dark and the carpet is worn out. The hotel would be great venue for school gatherings and low budget activities. The refreshments during tea break was most disappointing and catering during lunch was mediocre. Indeed, its still the same grey building I remember 27 years ago...first impression last and they never got the memo.

Hotel a bit disappointing compared to the Country Inn Hotels we have stayed in on our way here from Cape Town. No fridge in the room, a lady that takes it upon herself to knock and come into our room every morning asking for our tells (we are here for 5 days so don’t want to be disturbed like that, especially with our Do Not Disturb sign out). As check out is 10, not sure why someone would need to bother us before that time, if at all. Breakfast is way too expensive for the offer they have. TV is also an issue. Channels are minimal. Only basic channels, all the DSTV channels have no sound. We did ask them to fix it but that’s the best they could do.

Average rooms. Needs update. Restaurant service is not good at all and food is average for the high charge. Hotel was very noisy and we had to complain twice to get reception to help us with unruly guests. Reception staff was very good.
