Awesome place for some family adventure. Remember sunscreen, hats and rock shoes if you can. The ground is very abrasive. They sell all sorts of food and drinks inside.

Had the best birthday celebration ever. We went there to celebrate my birthday and it was a blast as I love playing in the water. I'm definitely going back again

Very fancy, & a great atmosphere with a lot of friendly company-wide & great staff. There is various things to do. Very expensive to be honest, but worth the time to get away & enjoy with friends & family. I highly recommend Sun City.

Absolutely Gorgeous! It never disappoints. Went with Friends last year and Family this and it still had the same effect. Totally enjoyed my day visit and will certainly be making it a norm yearly. Totally worth the visit without a doubt! Oh I love the greenery too!

When the sun is out and you want to play as a family, this is the place to go. Sun City truly is a world within a city. So much to do; Valley of Waves, water slides, water skiing, quad biking, garden walks, etc. Bit pricey for a day visit though (R450 for adults and R350 for children up to 12years old in October 2022). The fee did include about R80 per person food voucher that can be used in the restaurants. Lots of parking available.

Wonderful Experience!!! Enjoyed every moment at the valley of the waves. Ensure you try out every body and tube water slide. Highly recommended for a fun family outing, Safe lockers available for small valuables, also beach umbrella's available to rent... ensure you carry Cash and your Cards regarding for payment as to rent a locker/umbrella cash is required and to purchase general snacks or food cards only are used for payment. Another tip would be to have a water proof action camera to capture your fun moments in the water riding some waves or trying out the water slides.

Amazing fun, the wave pool was so nice, but I went in the wrong month 😂, the water was freezing but it was still fun nonetheless nice Ambience and I like the sand they used too, gave it a nice artificial realistic beach kinda vibe too and the slides too were really fun

A great day out for family entertainment, it provides something for all ages. Various rides for the adrenaline junkies through to relaxing rides for the whole family. The wave pool provides for a sense of the sea hundreds of kilometres from the Indian Ocean. Can get really busy so recommend visiting during the week.

Valley of the waves is something spectacular. A good place to relax with family, friends or a special someone in your life. You can enjoy the slides, a drink at the beach bar. Bring your own towel for relaxing on the sand or hire one. Your stuff is securely stored in a locker (family size or standard) which is locked/unlocked by a wristband chip.

Heaven on Earth. Just like a drame comes true. Magical place to visit with Family and Friends. Water rides are damn Big and Adventurous. Enjoyed Best in World Waves Pool and Tallest water rides. Here water rides is just like we are going to 15th floor. Managed with 2 times only. They also click photo as well. Everything at one place- Resort, Restaurant and Adventure.

R450 entrance fee is steep and food is expensive. No food or drinks may be taken in. It’s a most enjoyable day though! Sand is quite rough but the wave is good fun and the water slides are excellent - from gentle to blow your hair back!!

It was very fun with the slides and the views and everything but the floor by the mechanical waves had sliced my feet and I got minor sunburn on my face (note:have sunscreen ready at all times) and I got so lost in the maze 😭😭😭 but I had a lot of fun

We had a wonderful day! Feet were painful. Some steps at the super tube rides lost its surface.from.erosion through the years. The beach sand felt like pebbles under our soles at the end of the day. Most of the shops were closed as well as the beach bar. Wish we knew about the hiking trails earlier on and that you don't particularly need hiking equipment to follow the trails. We discovered the Royal Baths, which we never saw, and some other parts we never knew existed. We also missed out o the actual waves. We found ourselves always out of the water when it came. Wish there was a timetable of some.sorts so we can know. Even though it is said every 90 minutes, it felt longer.

I found the location to be quite delightful and rejuvenating. My family and I were able to experience all of the available rides and particularly enjoyed the lazy river. It's worth noting that when renting a locker, only cash is accepted. The Family locker is priced at R350 including a R100 refundable deposit and the standard locker is R250 also with refundable deposit. We left most of our belongings in the beach area and were pleased to find them untouched upon our departure. I would like to extend my appreciation to the lifeguards on duty for their diligence and commitment to ensuring the safety of all guests.

Beutiful ,smart and safe place to relax and have fun. The waves were an experience that I longed for .life guards are always on sight and that makes one feel safe especially with the kids .valley of waves is worth visiting 😍 Food cot is a stone throw away and so is the bar 🍸 😋. We paid day visitors online as no tickets are paid for at the resort ,a bit pricey but the 450rand included a meal voucher of 80 rand ,above all I can say it's truly worth it . Great place indeed .

What a blast, families first time at the Valley of the Waves, Sun City the kids including us had a great time. The water was freezing cold but that didn't stop the kids they still enjoyed it in there with the waves, us adults on the second hand will definitely be back in summer than maybe we will join in the water. We relaxed at the Beach Bar the whole day, was laka relaxing. The kids went Zip-Linning again this time they were so brave they did it by themselves 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 all the way.

It was amazing, we had lots of fun. Covid protocol was followed. They make sure ppl wear masks at all time. On Saturday good music 🎶 was played

The kids had a great time here. The Valley of Waves has a great variety of rides for all ages, all of them well monitored by lifeguards. The place is kept spotlessly clean at all times. We were here on a quiet day so the there were no queues for rides. There is a good selection of snack and drink vendors all around the park. Tip: take your own towels or pay R80 to borrow one for the day. 😳

So much fun for the whole family. There is something for everyone. The facility is well kept and the staff are very attentive. But for me the best thing is the architecture and ancient ruin theme.

  • 3/5 Fathima S. 2 years ago on Google
The standards have dropped compared to previous visits. Very few tubes available and in poor condition. Long queues. Only one person per double tubes on rides. Doesn't make sense. Also topples over as no weight on back section of tune. Took 30 mins to get popcorn. Lazy river water looks green Please try to upkeep previous standards,as this is one of our favourite resorts to visit yearly.

Picture a palm-fringed beach lapped by crystalline waters. Imagine yourself on a sun lounger as the sun sets over the valley and the roar of the waves muffle to the sound of the DJ’s beats. Now, imagine this tropical paradise only a short drive from Johannesburg. Valley of Waves at Sun City gives you a chance to go from Daily Grind to Unwind in less than two hours. This is where city slickers and urban families find their place in the sun. The legendary Roaring Lagoon at the Valley of Waves is the undisputed main attraction at the Sun City’s famous water park. Every 90 seconds, bender waves rise two metres in the air. Catch the tide and body-surf to shore. Laze beneath a wind-swept palm, ride and slide your way to more thrills, and amble over to the beach bar where island cocktails and after-swim snacks await. There’s something for everyone at the Valley of Waves. Kids can get their kicks in the designated children’s area while adventure-seekers can take their pick of mild to wild rides. Get your splash on at the Valley of Waves Sun City water park.

First thing to note is there is masks required as far as possible, there are no food drinks and smoking allowed into the area. I appreciated this rule there was very litter anywhere. Lots of ice cream places and places to eat in and around. There are no day visitors for the time being. The wave pool was nice but could have had less debris. The earthquake bridge was exciting and the staff was very helpful at the lazy river. The slides were on another level. Not all were open but were really enjoyable. It was not very busy with no line for the slides. The baby pool also needed cleaning and was really cold. Was very memorable.
