Its our 2nd time up and still amazing! We arrived at 09h00 on Saturday morning, bought our tickets at the bottom with no hassle. We then received 2x free breakfast vouchers to eat at the top. Most delicious breakfast. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Safe parking at the bottom. Fantastic day spent at the top. Hiking trails available. Clean bathrooms. More than 1 restaurant on top of the mountain. Prices are good. Great outing for the family. Will definitely recommend!

Check the website for family package deals on offer. Booking online or at the kiosk is both easy. Once you’ve got your tickets they will be sent to you via SMS. It’s then easy to queue and get the exciting cable way carriage up the mountain. Beautiful views and calm ride. Up too there is lots to do, great restaurants and play areas for the kids. You could easily relax and spend 2-3 hrs up top. A really fun day trip.

The view was amazing. I honestly enjoyed the experience. Fortunately, I went on my birthday day, so it was for free, and my partner paid R300 for the ride. It was fortunate we went on Friday, so the place was literally empty, we were able to enjoy the ride just the two of us and am so happy about that. There are few restaurants to choose from and a nice view to take pictures. We bought chicken and it was so amazing.

Definitely worth going to, the view is magnificent. It is well organised, we did buy tickets in advance but still waited quite some time for our turn. On the day there was a DJ and very loud music was playing which I feel is unnecessary and quite disturbing. Being up on the mountain with only nature is enough.

We were in such amazement at how beautiful this place it. We expected just a cable cart ride, and got an amazing trail walk, entertainment and great restaurants at thr top on the mountain.

A must do when in Harties! Breathtaking views and overall great experience. Getting tickets was fast (cashless system), and the wait to go up the mountain was not that long. Once up you can get a bite to eat, have an ice cold beer(my choice), have a short walk on the trail or just kick back and chill if you want to. Plenty to eat and drink once up and the views are just beautiful. Fun for the whole family and if it's your birthday you can get a free ticket!

I so loved the place and i can't wait to go back again. I took my boyfriend there after his birthday and he also loved it . I would also advise people that weekdays are better than weekends as there's no waiting queues and conjestion. It cost R360 for the open one. , and R300 for the closed one and which is also shared as it accomodates around 6 to 8 peoplee if not mistaken . The good part about the open one is that it only takes two people and its open ,that means no shade and you got to see everything on a close proximity without any distraction and you also has an option to change or alternate the and experience both cableway 🚡 . Friendly staff ✅ Beautiful Views ✅ Food variety ✅ Cleanliness ✅ Atmosphere ✅

Such an amazing view in the cart. When you get to the top there is a cute little restaurant that sells alcohol and cold drinks. They have gazebo tents with tables and bean bag chairs to sit underneath and they also make wonderful pizza. The view is spectacular up there.

We visited the Ariel cableway early on a normal Saturday morning. I would definitely recommend getting there early if you didn’t buy tickets online (I’m not sure if that is possible tho) We got here right when they opened and we still waited 5/10min to pay. But boy was it worth it!! I did not expect such an amazing view with CLEAN and prestige sitting areas and bathrooms! The cable cars themselves were okay, not very big and they also felt a bit scary, but that’s just my opinion! :) The atmosphere at the top was amazing and the food as well as the drinks were delicious! We also really enjoyed the Dassie walk and read through all the information boards provided. I would definitely recommend popping in when you’re in the area!

This place is amazing here ! The views are breathtaking from the top of the mountain and it is such a great place to be ! We came here during the week and it’s not too busy and they have good COVID-19 protocols . They sanitize everything including the cable car and the team is fantastic. I will be coming here soon and it was great experience. I highly recommend it to anyone. Note the prices are a bit expensive but it is free on birthdays (ID required ) . It’s R240 per person for Adults and R150 per person for children (14 years and younger ) . Pensioners are R140/person (ID required ) . Stills. Great experience!!

Being a tourist in your own country is awesome. Another world class attraction which isn’t marketed nearly good enough. I remember coming here as a kid and it is way better than I remember. Come for lunch and if it’s your birthday it is a free ride.

It was a hot windy day but it was certainly still worth while. There was a little bit of a wait but not to bad. They do not accept cash. Staff are helpful and friendly. Some good lookout spots at the top and enough space not to feel crowded by other visitors. Depending on what you decide to do, (perhaps a visit to the spa for a shoulder massage?) you can easily spend a couple of hours just relaxing and taking in the views.

We arrived at 10:00 on a Sunday, bought tickets and went up without waiting. The views are really beautiful but due to it being winter, visibility wasn't as good as it would be on a clear summer's day. Once at the top, we ordered pizzas and made ourselves comfortable on the bean bags. It was a lovely day that was concluded with delicious ice cream. Upon exiting the parking at around 14:00, the queue to buy tickets was very long and we were thankful we were leaving and not arriving. Overall it was a great experience and good value for money! Suggestions for the restaurant: - Please employ more staff or improve your ordering system, since the queue to order got very long (one staff member takes orders and pours drinks - this is not sustainable). - More seating suitable to an older demographic will be appreciated - chairs with back rests, for example.

Loved the experience with my whole family. The place is also stroller safe, so bring your infants and toddlers along. There was also live band upstairs that kept us entertained.

My family had a great time. The kids loved the cable ride. There were restaurants and an ice cream shop at the mountain. Enough places to chill and relax. We enjoyed the short walking trail as well with the amazing views. Our family will definitely be back here.

Took adventure of the birthday special. And scored a free ticket. Everyone is so friendly. The facilities are very clean. The ride is beautiful and scenic. We got stuck halfway down due to loadshedding but we got moving a few minutes after the generators kicked in.

I went there over the weekend with a couple of friends, had the best experience. The view is breathtaking, it's so refreshing up there and has quite a number of activities to do. I like that it's child friendly. I would say if you want to go to a place to relax this is definitely the place to go. I'm most definitely going back because i really enjoyed it.

Awesome day out! System is fairly efficient and the views from the top are amazing. Can get quite busy, which means increased waiting times. We had some pizzas and drinks at the top, which were also top notch. PS - treat yourself to free entrance on your birthday.

We had an awesome experience, the cableway ride was great and we felt safe throughout the ride. Covid-19 protocols were followed and adhered to. The food and staff at 360 degrees was amazing and they were nice enough to allow me make myself a custom latte. However the queue going down was crazy long, over best experience.

The only beautiful and enjoyable thing about this place is the cable ride of which you have to wait in long queues... You need a lot of patience If you want to ride on the aerial cable becuase the long queues are quite depressing especially at the ticket sales. Positively speaking, taking the aerial cable ride allows you to see the beautiful scenery and the scenery is really breathtaking. When it comes to overall service, I would rate it only 1 star. The people working at the restaurants have no etiquette, they are rude and their services are poor and slow.... We went to a restaurant to called 360 and the service was the poorest of them all. The tables were not clean, cutlery was not clean and the service was terrible.....

Absolutely amazing experience. If you are in harties this is definitely something that you have to do. Covid 19 protocols are followed and they sanitize each cart therefore it is clean and safe. The restaurant at the top is slightly pricey but overall view is breathtaking.

The cable car experience is an absolute must do in Gauteng. It's not cheap. It's worth it The ticketing is efficient. The cable cars are safe. The ride is a joy. The destination at the top of the Mafakiesberg is breathtaking. There is a well set out educational experience n the mountain top. The hospitality stations close in early afternoon which was disappointing

This was honestly an unexpectedly enjoyable experience. The cableway start point is well kept, clean and fairly efficient. It's rather small, so it can get busy and wait times can be long. The attendants were busy to attend to us, but we could figure things out fairly easily. 1. First car goes up by 09:00. If you go earlier there isn't a rush and you can have breakfast at the top and come down by 12:00 when it gets busy. 2. Buy your tickets online and have it emailed or whatsapped to yourself so you can show the ticket on your phone. There are quite a few specials running till end of May. The special for free rides during your birthday week can't be redeemed online (unless I missed it) 3. Go to the queue kiosk and print yourself a ticket to get into the gondola. Remember to do this after you buy your ticket. 4. Enjoy the ride up, it's quite smooth albeit a bit scary. The top has a few options for places to relax and enjoy the views. The lookout point has a few nice laid out decks with benches or bean bags. The kids has a great time enjoying their snacks while we just chilled. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but not ridiculously so. It turns out you can Hire out a variety of spaces for birthdays or weddings. Who would have thought...

We had a wonderful day there. The friendly staff is extremely helpful and one lady helped us reschedule to a further date as it was super busy when we got there the first time. The view to the top is breathtaking. The place is very nice and clean..bean bags and live music while you're enjoying great pizzas from The Shack and you're in for a treat at the new illy coffee shop..perfect coffee! Overall wonderful experience. We will be back again for sure.

This was a wonderful experience. Would definitely go again and again. The views from the mountain top are beautiful. The ride take about 7 minutes, mostly smooth. I don't really like hights so i only relaxed 3 minutes into it and had my eyes open throughout. There's restaurants and a bar at the top so have a meat there.

Breathtaking views and a peaceful trip to the top of the peak. I had a greek salad which was good. They have gone cashless and use cards for all transactions. Small trails and insights shares on various South African landmarks. Beautiful afternoon relaxing. Will definitely be back. Thanks to all for a lovely experience.

Fantastic experience! The facilities are well kept and the business is well run. The gondolas look safe, though we opted for the two seater chair which was quite a thrill. Once on top of the mountain, there is a short (5minute) walk which takes you to various lookout point and provides some history of various landmarks around the area. There are 4 or 5 restaurants and the views are spectacular. A great outing! Recommend buying tickets online, they're slightly more expensive but they help you skip the long queues.

The view is amazing, there was a bit of a queue so if you going on long weekend or holidays be prepared to wait in line. It's quite safe and fun thing to do, on the other side there are restaurants so you can sit and dine while looking at the beautiful view. A suitable activity for the whole family and quite affordable, there are prices for pensioners too of you would like to take your grandparents or parents but have to provide identification.

Amazing views! Dress warm if it's winter & you're on the open 2 seater - it gets pretty cold up there ! Don't go if you even slightly suffer from fear of heights Option to choose from Closed cars & 2 seater, open cable cars (strapped in & a hand bar + foot rest) Friendly staff Popcorn & coldrinks for sale on groundlevel before you board Memorabilia shop sells shirts, hats, key holders, etc. Safe parking On top, there's an ice-cream shop & restaurant. Bean bags + tables placed strategically to enjoy the view

It's a good experience but make sure sometimes on the holidays minimum waiting time is 2 hours.value for money is moderate , Aerial view is superb the main adventure place during the ride is before reaching the top when very close to the stone mountain Cliff feels like the compartment will hit the cliff.

This is a place suitable for weekend visits, and you can quickly reach the mountaintop by cable car. The scenery above is pleasant and endless, making it perfect for taking photos. In addition, there are various BBQ and local specialty performances on the mountaintop, which is a very good experience.

Really nice. Wonderful views. Very clean and neat, restrooms are also very clean and well maintained. Great service and chilled vibe when you get to the top with a lovely grassy area with some beanbags to lounge around. Walking trails as well, no trash in sight, very clean. Plenty of tables and seating areas. Get there early to avoid queues but more importantly to enjoy more time at top.

04/09/21 I think we went on a busy weekend. Arriving we had to wait like an hour to buy tickets and to get on the ride. As you pay, you are also given a site map, which was very helpful for first timers like ourselves and oh we also had a birthday discount! Covid regulations are followed throughout, you will notice that each cart is being sanitized as people disembark. The takeoff was very scary for someone afraid of heights like myself, but the view was amazing as we went up the mountain. Food was amazing, then a small hike to sunset shelter- this is where there’s all the activities and fun.

If you are looking for a family outing in Harties look no further than the cable car. We had such an amazing time out the top. Loads of kids activities such as jungle gyms. We sat on the bean bags and looked at the view for hours. The resturant serves the most amazing pizza's. All and all what an awesome outing we had, I would highly recommend going up the cable cars if you are looking for something to do at Harties.

  • 5/5 Shalini G. 2 years ago on Google
Loved this ❤ was outstanding 👏 absolutely beautiful. Great adventure for the day. If ur trying to impress someone on a date i highly recommend it. There are tickets available at the counter. Then as u take the cable car up the mountain, there is a small walking path to go further up the mountain. As u arrive there are activities for kids. Ice cream station and a pizza 🍕location. After a very slow 75mins wait for pizza i would suggest order it first then go about ur business so ur visit to the mouth will work like clock work. Its self service. Unless u sit right at the pizza ordering station. There are toilet facilities. The decend is at the bottom of the pathway. Then the cable ride back is quite exciting. As the view is paramount. I highly suggest you visit.

Loved this visit on my birthday. Only to find that the ride is free on your birthday on producing your ID doc as proof. No waiting time to go up as cars arrive freely even in Level 3. The views from the top of the mountain is absolutely breathtaking. I wasn't to keen on the pizza restaurant as I thought the staff were lacking in their interaction skills. I cannot comment on the quality of the food as I was turned off by the abruptness of the server behind the counter.

Friendly service everywhere - from the entrance boom gate, to the personnel at ticket sales, to the Covid station guy, to the cableway guys, amazing hospitality. To the bar man at the “look out deck” , to the amazing staff at “360 degrees”, the kind Bruce Msimango and team. I felt highly welcomed. Food was very good - I had the yummy chicken wrap and fresh carrot cake. Very well kept facilities and very well managed, staff are customer focused. Tranquil environment. I will be returning.

Very nice outing. Beautiful view, and fun to go in the cable car. Staff is friendly and efficient. Cable cars are disinfected/sanitised after every group. Only downside is the price, quite costly per person. Would be nice to have something like a group/family discount.

A must do activity when you are in Harties! The management is much better than in the past but get there early or you will wait for 45min or more. Pensioners and children get discount. Prices for drinks on the mountain are crazy expensive and they only take card payments. You can not take your own food and drinks up.

The queue was quite long even though we had bought the tickets online, however the cable ride up the mountain was quite awesome. I liked that you don't share the ride with strangers especially given the existence of covid-19. The views at the top of the mountain were breathtaking- perfect backgrounds for picture lovers. There is a kids play area which my 4 year old thoroughly enjoyed. We really enjoyed just lounging and relaxing on the beanbags. I would definitely do it again. I was not very impressed with the alcoholic drinks available, a little more variety would be great.

Awesome place! Well maintained and the top of the mountain looks amazing. It felt like being at a holiday resort. Only issue we had was that somebody had gotten sick on the floor at the entrance to the place at the bottom and the cleaners really did not do a good job as the whole place smelt like vomit- bathrooms were also not very clean. Other than that, it was good!
