The hotel rooms are nice, but the hotel is not well managed if you are traveling with a dog. 1.) The most egregious and scary mishap being that the dog run is a long strip in the back, and I noticed too late a tiny sign on the opposite end that it was chemically treated making my dog sick and giving me a rash. The whole area around the hotel was treated, so there was no where for our dog to safely go. We might be headed to the vet. 2.) We confirmed with a staff person that there would be a was a pet deposit and not a fee, and then were charged a $55 fee. 3.) They gave us the wrong bed setup, which isn't a huge deal for a one night stay, but compounded with the other issues is a cherry on top for a review worthy experience. 4.) There was no staff around to check out or discuss these issues at 9am, and the feedback website wont confirm our stay to leave feedback.

We’ve used this hotel a few times now as it is conveniently located along a route we often drive. The hotel has a nice feel to it, clean rooms, offers a good, hot, free breakfast, has a pool for the kids (or adults), and is surrounded by a lot of great amenities and shopping. It also has complimentary destination chargers for EVs. This last perk, for us, is one of the biggest selling points for us since we drive an EV. Previously, the charger would deliver a full 48A/220V and charge at 76 kW. Now, for some reason, management has decided to limit the charging to 12A/220v at 3 kW. While something is better than nothing, we plan our trips relying on the higher charge rate. We want to keep using this hotel, but if management doesn’t go back to the full charging rate, we’ll look for a place that does - end encourage you to do the same if you happen to drive an EV. If it weren’t for the strange decision to throttle down the charging rate, this would be a 5-star review. Hope this helps.

I travel for business (although this was not for business) and I really liked the layout of the hotel. I stayed in a room with a king bed and was pleased with the chaise lounge in the room instead of the loveseat. Shower was nice and large too. Breakfast was hot and well stocked and the staff there were helpful. This hotel is in a good location with shopping and several eating options nearby. One of the best Holiday Inns I have been too and I will stay there again if I am in the Des Moines area. A couple of notes for the manager: Consider leaving breakfast open until 10:30 or 11 on Sundays that way people can enjoy a laid back, lazy morning if they want to. Also information about the hotel (ice machines, pool or workout hours, etc) in the room would be helpful along with a local establishment guide. Maybe both of these items can be put on one of your unused TV channels for a quick reference for guests and that way it would be easier for staff to update as well.

The stay was pleasant. It was nice to have a place where I could enjoy a nice breakfast post pandemic. My only complaint was the hot cakes machine, the hot cakes were pitifully small. I thought I was getting two big cakes but instead it spit out two tiny pancakes. The sausage was also stuck to the paper in it's container. Over all, I rate my experience a 4. I recommend a stay at the holiday inn express

First of all, let me preface with I wasn’t a guest at this hotel. However, that being said, I have been on a road trip for quite a while from Texas, and I needed to charge up my car. I called asking the staff if I would be OK to swing by and use the Tesla destination charger, and Heather who was the overnight receptionist at the time was super professional and friendly. She asked that as long as no guests needed the charger, I would be OK to use the charger. To the hotel and her management, thank you for having such an empathetic and kind person on your overnight shift.

Room and amenities are great. "3" Tesla Destination Chargers are a bit misleading. 2 of them are only 12amp which would take well over 24 hours to charge our Model 3. Luckily for us on this trip, the 3rd one was available and it's 40 amp which will charge us up overnight. -1 star for advertising 3 Destination Chargers but 2 of them are only barely useful.

This place was great! Super clean rooms. The room was up to date and the bathroom was really nice. There's a pool and the desk staff was very friendly. They serve hot breakfast in the morning. There is an abundant amount of food near by from fast food to upscale romantic places. They have a list of stuff to do if you're bored as well. Would recommend this hotel for others. No complaints.

Clean room comfy bed. Typical holiday inn breakfast and the staff was friendly. The area was good and had plenty to do. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was pleasant as well as the view. Upon checkin I was asked if I wanted housekeeping service which I declined. I was only there for 3 nights. The bed was comfortable and the pillows fantastic. The shower had hot water almost immediately once turned on. A/C unit mounted under the window but the settings can be changed both on the unit and the wall thermostat…very nice. In the room my safe did not work. I could not set a code and it did not lock. On the fourth floor and was nice and quiet. The kitchen staff worked hard to keep up with the breakfast rush…never did make bacon which is a huge demerit but ice cold milk made up for it. If you like pancakes too bad…the machine was not working. Adored the fact that hot coffee was available 24/7. Never had a problem with my room key as well grateful for the late check out. Ice machine on my floor was a big plus. And the most thing I like about staying here was the curtains. Black out curtains are exactly that. Working in conjunction with a side track system results in a total blackout of exterior lighting. Never did try the pool because I didn’t see a hot sauna. Yes I would stay there again.

I didn’t get a wink of sleep the first night I was here (not through any fault of the hotel, I just don’t sleep well away from home). I got a lot if time to think about how awesomely comfortable I was! The whole place is very clean and friendly. I love the Dove soap products (although a bit challenging for little ones to reach, but they hate using soap anyway). Plenty of outlets to plug in chargers. Black out curtains to keep it dark! And this is such a tiny detail, but I love the shower curtains having the wide arc so the curtain doesn’t cling to you. Such a lux feel! Great hot breakfast options and of course our kids favorite part of the whole trip was the pool. The staff is really friendly as well. My wife and I would definitely stay here again!

The room was totally fine. The breakfast was an absolute disaster. Almost everything was not functional or not there. The eating area and the kitchen area were both filthy. We only picked this location because it said that there’s an EV charger. There are 3 Tesla chargers and 1 non-Tesla. The non-Tesla charger was used all night so we weren’t able to use it. I asked at the front desk if they could ask the owner to move and they said they don’t ask for plates. In the morning, we were able to charge for a few minutes. The output was a terrible 3.8kwh charge.

One of the better HIs we've stayed at. Clean, cool room, good bed, lots of 110V and USB outlets. Breakfast area needed attention, but they did clean it up nicely. It's been a good hotel we'd stay at again.

I was down for a girls trip and selected this hotel because of price. During my 4 day stay the only complaint is breakfast was hit or miss. About half of the days it was ok. Front desk gentleman Jeff started my vacation out on a good leg, he was so sweet. Breakfast attendant was friendly too. Room was clean and spacious but have to ask for it to be cleaned. Overall I highly recommend !
