I had the platter for one. The grilled calamari tubes were amazing, as were the prawns. The grilled gurnard which was the linefish of the day was surprising tasty. Only the mussels were disappointing. They tasted like it was out of a can. All served with savoury rice, tartare sauce and a delicious lemon butter sauce.

Lovely restaurant in Knysna. Stopped on our way back to Tsitsikamma, such delicious food, great friendly service. Will definitely come back for more I myself had the Lamb Curry, beautiful rich curry with Savoury rice and paneera Bread. Delicious meal. Other dishes ate were Line fish of the day, Pork belly and Seafood curry. Everyone was very happy with the food. No food was Left over. Only slight complaint was the calamari was a bit "chewy" but not excessively bad. Worth the visit..

Difficult to eat anywhere else in Kynsna after eating here! Everything was perfect! Such great staff also that makes everything extra special! Chef trained under Gordon Ramsey and you will believe it! Highly recommend the springbok carpaccio and the dressed oysters Edit: we did try another restaurant at the dock with numbers in its name and it wasn’t anywhere close to the food here. The oysters were gritty and thin in comparison to the meaty beauties you’ll get here! Wish we’d eaten here both nights but take my advice and set up camp at Anchorage!

What an incredible dinner. The platter for 2 was "Next Level" Compliments to the Chef. And our Waiter Sascha did an amazing job informing us on all the favourites, thank you Sascha. Will definitely be back. Keep it going.

The pork belly and stuffed chicken fillets were to die for! The double cooked chips was just the cherry on top! Loved the food and enjoyed the good service definitely a place to visit.

Such an amazing evening. Friendly and knowledgeable waiter, Sasha. Starters, main courses and desserts were recommendations and what flavour and beautifully presented. Had a stunning evening. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Most certainly will visit them again on our next trip.

Food was nice. But the best of the restaurant is Sascha the waiter. Never had a waiter like him before. Always when the glasses were almost empty he came to fill them up. And it seems to be passion how he act with his guests...

The Anchorage has a long reputation as being one of the best restaurants in Knysna. We visited the Anchorage in 2017 2018 2019 and now again in 2022. New proprietor, fresh wind, good old things still there but improved and new things added. Meals are amazing, wine selection marvellous, great service and real good value for money (quality has its price and we were happy to pay a fraction of the price we would have to pay for this outstanding menus in Europe). If you are visiting Knysna, go there.

We have been here on a saturday evening and were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. Our waiter, Sash, has been extremely kind and attentive. He recommend us several dishes which were all delightful. We started with wild oysters which were the best that I have ever had. I highly recommend them! My wife then had two different kinds of fish. Both were amazing. I had a combination of steak and calamaris; both of which were great. We've had several drinks matching the different courses. Everything was just wonderful. I can only recommend visiting this place when you stay in Knysna. It has been the best experience we've had during our stay!

One of the best sea food restaurants I have ever visited.The sea food platter was absolutely fabulous.

An excellent dining experience. Was served by Hendrik that gave excellent service and was very knowledgable on their food options and sauce pairings. The food tasted like it came from a top restaurant. The restaurant is perfect for those wanting to enjoy an intimate, romantic experience, but also for those who want to come with friends. Highly recommended if you are in Knysna.

Wild oyster was ordered but brought us cultivated ones and waiter said the wild ones are sold. But should have told us before offered us alternatives. 5min later spoken to the manager she said there’s actually wild ones? Ordered two vegan dishes but got wrong dish the waiter said the dish we ordered out of stock, but should have told us before serving us different dish. We strongly feel the waiter has took wrong order and lies to us that the food we ordered are sold. Poor service and it’s over priced for the food quality you received.

The chickpea and lentils curry was not good, contained to much red and white beans, but the naan was nice

In Knysna area, it's difficult to get table for dinner without booking , but on our wedding Anniversary we were lucky to get table in Anchorage Restaurant without prebooking for dinner. The staff and front desk manager were so friendly. Food was served without any delay. We have tried lamb shank, line fish and steak for kids. It was so delicious and worth for money. Chef really know his job. Desserts also was very good. You guys really made our day. Strongly suggesting Anchorage Restaurant for dinner..

The 2 evenings in the Anchorage Restaurant CC were very nice. Benjamin, our waiter did a great service and surprised us with his great German. We came after the first dinner, again directly on the following day. The food and the recommendation was excellent! Thank you for the gastronomic experience. You have to reserve a table.

I really enjoyed the food here. Fresh wild oysters that Knysna is famous for and yummy fresh gurnard. Not all the fish is fresh however ( some is frozen ) , so do check with the waiter what is. Pudding was really nice too. Service was friendly - but make sure you reserve your table as they get booked up! Would come back here to eat again.

Simple yet well cooked food with nice service from start to finish. Had a really nice all fish dinner here on my final night in Knysna, would recommend.
