The guy that was attending to us was extremely rude. There were no other customers in the establishment yet he continuously rushed us to order and made sarcastic comments. Additionally no Covid protocols were followed(no mask wearing) Food was decent however based purely on the service received I will not be going back.

The seafood was delicious and extremely well priced. Don't let the location fool you as Sailor Sam is a true hidden gem. My boyfriend had the Seafood basket and I had the grilled hake with added prawns. We both had rice and chips. Everything was delicious and well prepared. I will recommend anyone to visit Sailor Sam when in Knysna.

Stopped here for a quick bite while touring the Western Cape on my motorcycle. Barely sat down and food was ready. Had calamari and chips. Was very tasty! 100% would recommend.

A super friendly older man served us and let us choose our own pickle fish so that we could choose the biggest one. The store itself is neat and clean and has lots of jokes etc. Seafood only menu but great experience.

Had the snoek. Lots of bones but was awesome. No meat or alcohol served. Lunch time special of hake, a roll, coleslaw and chips is quite nice. Friendly owner.

So delicious! Not halal certified, but they do not serve any alcohol, and have no meat products. Also no alcohol in cooking/ food preparations. Staff are friendly and food was delicious. Hearty old school fish and chips - perfect after a long day exploring Knysna!

Shocking to say the least. Frozen fish while right by the ocean! Please spare yourself the disappointment and skip this place. Awful food! Wish one could do a zero star!

We enjoyed the food here. The chips were really good. I had the prawn dippers. My husband had calamari, hake and chips. The sweet chilli sauce that came with the dippers were good but I enjoyed the Tar tar sauce that came with my husbands meal more. The owner was really nice and we had a little chat with him which my husband enjoyed.

Excellent Food, if you unsure what to get, try the million dollar platter. It has abit of everything. Portions are large. Service is excellent.

Tuesday afternoon 25th Jan 2022 We met the owner Rueben, what a delightful character. It's a takeaway, but you can sit outside & and watch the N2 endless supply of vehicles, and wonder where they all end up!! Viby night life and interesting travellers stopping for a road break and good sea food takeaway's. Good sea food, well priced, quick service, will be back soon! One never suffers after eating sea food, always gentle on the stomach 😋 and the wallet

Absolutely AMAZING fish and chips! Yum!!! Serves other seafood, there's a small dine in section. Friendly service. "Halaal Friendly" due to the non selling of alcohol and meat products.

Been coming back to this gem of an eating option in Knysna for years. And Ruben, the man of the house is an absolute scream. Always has a wise crack or comment about everything and everybody. Always find popping in here entertaining, refreshing and more important, a place that satisfy your hunger.
